Parking is available behind our building and in addition there are numerous parking areas one block north or south.

As usual, the food and service were exceptionally good. I had a shank of lamb that fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious. Portions are generous and pricing is quite reasonable. It's BYO so even more affordable in that regard. Only slight negative is that the dining room can get a bit loud when busy/crowded.
Disappointing. New Year's Eve, early dinner, large VERY loud party that made it impossible to hear each other and enjoy our meals. Food had wonderful flavor but 3 of us had lamp chops and they were the fattiest I have eaten anywhere. Vegetables were swimming in oil. Soup good, shrimp cocktail very good, crab and artichoke dip very good. Service was good. I will pay top dollar for quality but this didn't match the price.
We were disappointed. Did not live up to the reviews. We were offered water when seated but then no other beverage and no beverages are on menu. Waitress was impersonal and did not even make eye contact. She did not check back and we waited a long time for our check. The special salad of the day was excellent but the osso buco was fatty and did not have much flavor. The quality of the Griggstown chicken was very good but preparation lacked imagination. Too many other good choices for dining out to go back.
Food was tasty and well prepared. BUT - we were a party of 6 people and the service seemed very slow. There was a long wait between ordering and when salads and soup appeared. In my opinion, the waiter made major missteps with our group. When one of our group ordered a chicken dish, he did not mention that it was dark meat (on the bone). She was unable to eat it - it looked too red on the inside. The restaurant did cook her some boneless chicken breast at no additional charge. Two people ordered meals off of the entre menu, plus they ordered specialty salads featured that evening. The waiter did not tell them that the dinners already came with salads. He subsequently served these folks 2 salads each at the same time. Essentially, we were unnecessarily paying for 2 upscale salads that were not needed. Big faux pas that cost us about $20 more.
I dine here two or three times a month (under 3 miles from home) and always enjoy the great food and the exceptionally good service. I meet with the same staff members who first served me when I re-discovered this restaurant 5 years ago (I lunched here frequently when they were in Princeton on Chambers Walk). The contemporary ambience is perfect for a casual meal. This BYOB bistro has really become a standard by which I seem to judge any others that I may visit.
Chambers Walk is by far our favorite restaurant in the Lawrenceville area. They cook with local ingredients and create some delectable combinations. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting. I feel like they cook with a lighter touch. Although their portions are generous, I never leave feeling like the food was too rich or heavy. I always enjoy the fresh and authentic taste of their dishes.
Really great service- BYOB option was highly accommodated and the food was excellent! By no means chain restaurant quality but also a very family friendly atmosphere which you don't always get with BYOBS and exceptional cuisine. They were so flexible with our large group and even let us bring a birthday cake as we were there celebrating. Excellent, looking into taking a cooking class they offer in the near future!
I want to like Chambers Walk Cafe. We have used them a few times for catering and that has always worked out well - they are nice and professional to work with and put out a quality product. But every time we go to the Cafe we are disappointed. Based on this last experience, we will not return. The food was mediocre at best (much worse than the catering food), and the service (if you can call it that) was horrible.
The food was excellent--creative, fresh, healthy, and locally sourced. The only suggestion that our table would have is to ask the waitress pay more attention to her tables. The hostess was more attentive than our waitress. After asking for a few minutes before ordering (since she came quickly after we were seated), she disappeared. We did not see her anywhere in the dining room or the open kitchen for about 10 minutes. The hostess sensed our displeasure and found our waitress. (The hostess had filled our water glasses three times at this point.) We had asked for a salad to be divided, and she only brought out 2 instead of 3 plates with the salad. She almost argued with us when we seemed puzzled. Finally, the main course was served. Upon finishing our meals, we were sitting for several more minutes until the hostess asked if we cared for dessert. We ordered some, and again the waitress seemed to take an exceptionally long time to bring those to the table. The food was wonderful--the waitress was not. We were not 'slow eaters,' and this meal required an hour and 45 minutes--too long for our taste--a Thursday evening dinner.
We really liked eating here, once we got our table. We reserved on Open Table but the website obviously didn't communicate with the restaurant, because they didn't have us on record. Luckily, they had a table and we were seated promptly. It's clearly not the restaurant's fault but perhaps the Open Table people ought to look into the communication problem. This is a good establishment with really nice service and a calm atmosphere. Food is very well prepared and portions are generous. We will definitely be back.
This is a wonderful place. My son use to come here when he was at college. We now all moved to the area and just find it just as great, food done well.menu has specials and also will cater to special diet when possible.
The also have a cooking school so you can try their recipes.
We come here often for birthday dinners, a night out with out-of-town guests, and other semi-special occasions, because we love the good food and we love the excellent service. Latest meal-- I had the root vegetable soup which was out of this world delicious-- very flavorful, (not at all bland, or too much salt substituting for flavor), with notes of celeriac, parsnip, carrot. My entree was pork with a wild mushroom duxelle stuffing on the inside and a perfectly seared fat cap (special that night), with sides of parsnip/potato mash that my wife kept stealing forkfuls of, and sauteed broccolini-- also superb. My wife had a very generous potato/artichoke casserole for an appetizer (I tasted it and also wonderful, although it was a very close second to my soup). She had the veal scallopini with lemon butter, capers, and angel hair pasta-- very good, but it also didn't trump my pork dish.
We always ask for Bogdan as our waiter if he's there that evening-- professional in the European style. Always there when you need him-- quiet, understated, smooth, confident, and an experienced professional. We're tired of the millenial "hi my name is ___ and I'll be serving you tonight" routine at other restaurants-- it's not about you, it's about our evening out enjoying a special occasion.
I like that they tell you the price of the specials for the night, and that they are in the same range as the entrees on the menu-- makes you feel like the chef is creating something different, unexpected, and fun that night alongside the regular dishes, not that they are simply adding high-priced specials to gouge the unwary and rack up the bill. Alas, no dessert this time, we were too full. Just a decaf cappucino for me and herbal tea for my wife. Sometimes the decibel level can be a tad high for our taste, depending on the evening, but it's a very minor quibble compared to the impeccable food and service. Did I say we love this place?
Fabulous dinner on New Year's Eve. Everything was presented and cooked to perfection! Ambiance was so nice and no one rushed us. There was a special menu offered along with the regular menu. Kudos to the chef, staff and Mario for making our evening a memorable one!
My family and I love this place! The staff is very friendly and very accommodating and the service is attentive but not overly intrusive allowing for group conversations to flow. The variety of entrees is perfect for a family with different tastes and a flair for adventure. Local wines or byob makes this place perfect! The salmon with fennel mashed potatoes was yummy! And Mario's Mama's Meatballs were delicious.
We had a wonderful experience. We dined with a group of 7 and the service was excellent and the food superb. This is a BYOB and they are most accommodating with the wine and glasses and made the experience very special. We have dined a few times at Chambers Walk in the past few months and have not disappointed. The menu changes and there are always a few specials added.
All in all a positive experience. Our server knew the menu and was attentive. The Caesar salad we split was very good. Lettuce was crisp, and the dressing was tasty and applied in moderation. The fresh bread was nice and my wife's chicken was delicious. My crab cakes were just so-so. The flavor was good, but no lump crab meat...something I expect from a place of Chambers Walk caliber. On the plus side of my meal, the carmelized red cabbage with bacon was yummy. I would certainly go back, I just wouldn't order the crab cakes again.
