Chambers Eat + Drink
Chambers Eat + Drink is located at the Phoenix Hotel in Downtown San Francisco
Chambers is a hidden gem. Built inside the retro Phoenix hotel, it's a mix of 50's/60's, quaint, craft, & history. The food was amazing & the vibe was certainly mid-mod like you stepped back in time in a roadside hotel getaway. Highly recommended.
From the outside, one may never walk in.. Don't judge a book by it's cover! Amazing!!!
- Pork chop was delicious, love the apple sauce with the mustard seeds
- Octopus was smokey, with a delicious sauce underneath it
- Couscous was dry, carrots were overcooked
- Truffle mac&cheese barely had any truffle (cost $12, when it should have cost $5 since it was simply mac&cheese with a little bit of truffle)
- Rib-eye was little bit too rare for my taste, still slightly too raw (when meat is a darkish pink, instead of a transition between dark and light)
Great food and beverages as always! The atmosphere is chill and perfect for a Sunday brunch.
From the server that greeted and walked me to my table to the bar tender and bussing staff- everyone was friendly, helpful and seemed genuinely interested in making my experience a good one.
The bartender was so friendly and fun! The food was delicious, although smaller portions than I would’ve hoped for. Would definitely go again!
I was visiting San Francisco with a friend and I stumbled upon this place on OpenTable and decided to give it a try. It’s connected to a hotel but the bar and restaurant portion wasn’t highly populated. It is such a VIBE!! Low lights, comfy seating and great bar tending. It is suggested as a cozy date night spot and that is exactly what it was. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
The location is a little sketchy. I felt uncomfortable wearing a nice outfit and walking around outside. Seems ok during the day. I wouldn't want to go alone at night. The food choices were enticing and the atmosphere was nice. I love the records and the lighting.
My grandpa is a grumpy old man, and my dear friend Nicole put up with as best she could. I had a great lunch and enjoyed chatting with Joe and Lorena!
I've eaten at Chambers for breakfast several times and have had just about everything on the menu and it's ALL delicious. In addition, the French pressed coffee is so smooth and wonderful.
My friend and I arrived before 5:30pm. The host welcomed us in and advised that we could sit at the bar as the restaurant seating was not available yet. The bartender immediately greeted us and made us two excellent drinks. The vibe of the place is calm and comfortable. The staff was were pleasant and checked in on us often. Recommended for anyone who feels comfortable walking in the Tenderloin district.
Fun and great food
Very cool vibe. Recommend taking Uber here so you don’t walk through the Tenderloin. Outside us deceiving. Inside is updated, cool music. Great food. Highly recommend!
The location is rough but the food was fantastic.
I was organizing a last minute work holiday party and Chambers was extremely accommodating. The place is great and food is delicious. Thank you to the wonderful management and staff.
Delicious, creative and funky in a good way. Great brunch!
we had been there before, food was good, cocktails too but it was extremely loud and difficult to maintain a conversation within our table, and it was not a large table, we were 5.
Not for me. Rowdy, bar-like atmosphere. We were seated next to a heavily trafficked door, so there was a cold draft running by our table. Music was christmas hiphop remix. The staff was very friendly. The food was good, but not worth a second visit.
One of the meat dishes was super dry and not good. The waitress didn’t ask if we liked the food.
Best birthday dinner ever! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal in a beautiful place!
Good place to eat at for a date. Only thing that is bad is the area that it’s in so be careful when walking towards and from the place. Lots of homeless people taking drugs in plain sight.
I originally made a reservation for 7pm for 5 people. I called to change it to 6 people. The restaurant made a mistake and changed it to 6pm instead. So when we arrived we had to sit outside in the cold. This mistake made our experience at the restaurant worse. Parking and walking in the tenderloin area is also a bit nerve-wrecking.
Had a lovely time! Such great drinks and savory choices!
Cool/fun atmosphere. In a relatively bad area of town, but once you are inside, it doesn't seem like it. Atmosphere was cool with a bunch of records and fun music. The cocktails were very good. The menu was a little limited. The food was good, but a bit pricey for what you actually got. Overall, a good experience.
Cheeseburger was overdone and the meat was tough. It was a tiny amount of meat, less than a 1/4 lb I’m sure. Lots of garnishes make it look pretty but it doesn’t compensate for taste.
The menu changes often and is always creative and interesting. Quality execution every time and the staff has always been friendly. It can get loud sometimes and the lighting is quite dim so those with hearing/seeing difficulties may struggle a bit. I've never had a bad time here, always a combination I've never considered...or a great burger if I'm not feeling adventurous.
Wonderful prompt and polite service. Beautiful atmosphere, seated right away. Food was incredible and the drinks were on par with value. Love this place!
Location is terrible all else is good
I love this place, both the vibe and the food. It seems like it's not nearly as busy as it used to be, so that can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on why you're coming to the restaurant/bar. Eat the pork belly. In fact, order at least one for each person.
Best views ever. Food and service great
It was amazing food, really enjoyed the small menue. Unfortunately, they forgot my starter - but the main course made up for it!
This place is a hidden gem. The cocktails are tasty, with great happy hour prices. The food is yummy. I ordered two small plates, thinking they would actually be small--but I could have filled up just on one. (Instead, I stuffed myself because they were both awesome.) Great ambiance.
Cool atmosphere, delicious and creative food, brilliant service. A gem in that rough neighbourhood
Very delicious meal. My friend and I shared a bunch of small plates and the mussels and everything was amazing.
I've been before where the food is extremely good, this time it was jut ok. Drinks are always great!
It's in a very sketchy area in town. Brunch time was very quiet, menu choice was limited, food was mediocre.
Super cool and funky location in a very bad neighborhood (Tenderloin with hundreds of homeless people and drug addicts on the streets) Good food. Price OK. The waitress was poor. Forgot things and was not attentive
Stylish restaurant in poor neighbourhood. Food good to very good. Service very good in the beginning but decreasing later. Small menue.
Menu is limited. We went there before seeing Hamilton and told them we needed to leave by a specific time. It took 45 mins for our food to arrive. The food was OK. Definitely not worth the wait. I’m crossing this restaurant off my list. No desire togo back.
Close to the Orpheum, convenient and accommodating to Theatre going crowd
