I always love coming to Chambers, I bring out of town guests because it's such a unique and delicious gem in the Tenderloin. I will say, the pork belly I ordered was overlooked on one side, making it almost inedible :/ but that was the first and only issue I've had after eating there several times.
Good food, Quirky place in the worst part of town - walking to get there was an experience I will not repeat!
Great find in a city full of great food! My family and I enjoyed everything we ordered from the duck breast with a confit leg, a beet salad with goat cheese creme, sunchoke soup and the fish of the day. Each item was seasoned to perfection. Drink list was fun and wines by the glass were delicious. Would totally recommend and can’t wait to go back!
What a fantastic gem in the Tenderloin! Food, Service, Ambiance are all outstanding. What an amazing place to have brunch with friends and family.
Their $17 burger is delicious. Fun environment. Energetic. Great decor. I have been here a number of times, it's fun for date night or with a group of friends. Will go back.
Really cool ambiance with warm colors and classic LP records in bookshelves as backdrop. I didn't expect too much of the food quality, but was surprised to get a super fresh and very well prepared pork chop. Will definitely be back!
Food & drinks were great, we went for Sunday brunch. Our server was decent. They don't split bills here, even after explicitly asking. Instead she handed me a pen and the bill, and told me to add up what I wanted on my card, then pass it to the other couple to add up what they would pay.
Also had an awkward experience with the hostess. 2 of the 4 were there for our reservation, and she wouldn't seat us and instead invited us to drink at the bar. No biggie. We got drinks at the bar, and about 5 min later the rest of our party showed up. We went and got the hostess, who told us to settle our tab at the bar and then she could seat us, and walked away. We settled the tab, then had to go get her *again* to finally seat us. It wasn't that busy, but she wasn't attentive at all. It isn't the end of the world, but it was kind of awkward and annoying to have to ask to be seated 3 times.
Other than that, the food was excellent and not too pricey (for a brunch in SF).
We would not go back for the food. The menu was limited, portions were small and meat was tough. The vibe was cool and bar scene was really fun. Music at the back bar was really fun and we ended up staying all night. Would definitely go back to hang out at the bar and for dancing!
I love the mysterious nature of Chambers SF. Definitely good for a first date or blind date. It is in a sketchier area of SF... but don't let that deter you!
Jessica was superb, as was the poke! Great space, fun vibe.
The service was really good. We asked to change tables - no problem. One member of our party arrived late - no problem. Great advice on drinks and food. Most of the food was really good, but not outstandingly notable. The risotto that came with the salmon was outstanding and paired perfectly with the salmon. We tried some of the more unusual cocktails, and they were outstanding (including one with rum, cinnamon, and scotch!).
I took my friend to eat at Chambers Eat and Drink for her birthday and she loved it! There was such a bubbly environment and the waiters were very friendly. The food is very presentable. I would definitely come again, no doubt!
It is a beautiful space but the food is surprisingly underwhelming. I specifically asked for the octopus dish without chorizo and the waitress brought me chorizo. She apologized for the kitchen's mistake but then the fish dish was incredibly bland. Again, she apologized but I do not think I will return.
Totally fun and hip atmosphere. A deeply fun place to have brunch.
Funky vibe. Great staff. Cleaver and fun food.
Great food and wait staff, however, Chambers could use a good scrubbing... a little dirty with seedy seating and the one shared sink for the two bathrooms was clogged.
Loved the Huevos Rancheros, my friend had the Pork Belly, both recommended by our server, we were really happy!
Cool vibe with lovely smiley bartenders & waitstaff.....
The food was good however the service was awful. Our waiter was in a rush and abrupt. I asked if we could get the Brussels sprouts with less oil and he sarcastically replied “they’re fried”. He wasn’t happy with the questions we had regarding the menu and he showed it. The food was good but I wouldn’t go back for dinner. The music and ambiance were fantastic.
Location is a bit dicey but staff made up for that with charm and great food.
A little late for our 7:15 reservation, we sat @ the bar & the service was great. Sat down for dinner & had a memorable experience. Were definitely going back
Very nice meal. Everybody was wonderful. Would dine there again
Everything was good but the menu is limited and not so great for kids.
I loved Chambers. The staff are super nice, the menu is small, but with a great variety of inventive tapas and bigger plates that pair well together and with the cocktail, beer and wine menus. They are very upfront about asking about dietary considerations and I have no doubt that the kitchen would be able to cater to any special requirements. The only issue was the long pause in between the two orders of tapas dishes that we ordered - which was only an issue because we had to make it to the Symphony. However, as soon as they knew we were in a hurry the staff were on it and expedited the orders and made sure we were out the door on time.
The decor wAs eclectic and vintage.. the hostess very friendly as we're the servers and bartenders.
While the hotel and restaurant has a hip vibe appearance online, the deco appears worn and tired once there. Unfortunately, the neighborhood doesn't help - some basic cleaning and sprucing up around the hotel and restaurant with a security would make a better impression. I really wanted to like this retro little place, but there was too many basic things amiss. We went for Sunday brunch and had soft scrambled eggs, as indicated on the menu the potatoes were crisp and brown but raw in the middle. Very little scrambled eggs - which had small chunks of semi-raw carrots and broccoli . The so called Souffle pancake could best be described as a mound of thick, baked custard dotted with blue berries and caramelized pieces of apple, with Green Tea ice-cream (what happened to the Maple ice-cream?) really disappointing unless you like custard. Even the fresh squeezed orange juice seemed watered down with no flavor.
I've eaten here numerous times in the past and have come to enjoy it very much. Unfortunately, this visit was way under par and makes me second guess ever returning or recommending to friends. Had to ask for things a few times, one starter was forgotten, as was soy milk for our French press. I'm gonna chalk it up to a quiet Sunday after thanksgiving where I'm sure everyone just wished they were home and vertical, but when you are one of two tables in the joint, you'd think better service would come from the 8 servers, bussers, and staff hanging out chatting and laughing at the bar station.
We arrived for Sunday brunch. Not alot of selections but the eggs Benedict was spot on and the veggie option was really tasty. Beautiful decor, nice and cozy, great music and great service. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is the lack of an espresso machine.. drip coffee only. Other than that it was really good.
I had the potbelly, deliciously pared with a great asian sauce and crispy seaweed.
All staff was great, but our server was delightful and checked with at the right times.
I will always come back with different friends and enjoy anything from casual to cozy..
Love your gardens.
Service, ambiance, food and drink were all incredible. Our waitress was extremely tentative and friendly, as well. Highly recommended!
Excellent food and great ambience in a very sketchy part of town. I notice that their health insurance surcharge turned out to be 10% of the bill, which is extremely high compared to other restaurants.
What a fun atmosphere! Our Uber drop in the middle of the Tenderloin at a black building made the cozy setting inside the doors all the more surprising. The friendly staff took care of us quickly as soon as we alerted them to a pending curtain time for theater. Love the poolside cabana and can't wait to return for more fun food!
Our reservation was for 7 but the table wasn't quite ready so we grabbed a drink at the bar. At 7:40 we still hadn't been seated. I think they forgot about us and this seemed to be supported when open table followed up the best day indicating we hadn't shown up. The hostess didn't even apologize for the delay. The rest of the staff was good and so was the food.
Used Gilt City & we had delicious food, drinks & great service!
I was there for Sunday brunch with my nephew and his wife. We sat outside by the pool. The menu was interesting and the dishes well prepared. The service was very attentive so it made a great experience.
We had no idea what we were in for ,knowing this was in the heart of the SF Tenderloin. Pretty dicey area and that, coupled with the very unassuming front door, had us completely flabbergasted when we walked into the awesome and unique environment! Great lighting, great service, and the FOOD! wow! (I ordered a second round of the Brussel sprouts so I could take them home to my b.f. Absolute THE best Brussel Sprouts I/we've ever tasted... ANYWHERE! SUPER FUN bar environment. What a find!
Food was cold and very late. Items run out off the menu later in the night. Service was poor.
We had a ball. Sat outside beautiful day. Great people watching lots of fun. Great music!! Loved it could have stayed all day!!
Yesterday my friend and I checked in for my birthday. We had never been before and we are non drinkers but were able to get a virgin cocktail which was absolutely delightful! We had an amazing time and we loved the decor and music selection. I ordered ribs and my friend ordered fish I enjoyed the seasoning obln both however, I liked my friends dish better. They had a ton of selections for wine. It's low lit and cozy!
