Chambers Eat + Drink
Chambers Eat + Drink is located at the Phoenix Hotel in Downtown San Francisco
Great service for a large group of 11 people. I love the drinks and the food was pretty good. I will be back.
Great surprise! We weren’t sure what to expect given the neighborhood but once inside it was like a step back in time. Groovy vibe.
We ordered small bites and they were excellent.
Let the server guide you through the menu!
Very good food, excellent ambience, wonderful service, we’ll be back for sure. I really loved the imaginative drinks. The menu is small but varied. We’ll bring friends next time, and spend more time. We were seeing a show, and they took care to serve us quickly. Great spot.
Excellent drinks & food. Amazing service. Had a couple of drinks & burger. Would come back for sure.
Amazing! When I walked in, it looked like a strip club! and, considering it's location.........I had to ask.
But no, it was very nice - altho I don't know what the curtained off areas concealed!
Arugula/pear/walnut/goat cheese salad very nice altho more goat cheese would have been nice and I think the walnuts were spiced (?) - something made my very nice vodka Negroni taste awful.
The seared ahi tuna entrée was perfect and the risotto was especially tasty to my surprise.
The cactus fruit sorbet was very refreshing.
The staff were fun to watch and sweet and helpful besides.
We had a show to catch at the SHN Orpheum and this place is close by. They got our food out very quickly which was much appreciated. Most of it was great, however the salad that came with my Thai shrimp appetizer was incredibly salted, to the point that it was hard to swallow. The portions are also rather small for the price. We definitely left still hungry.
My wife and I tried this place prior to attending the Hamilton musical. I’ve heard about this place was famous for their summer pool parties and fun DJs so I decided to try it out. First I’ll say I really dig the ambiance they have going there. I loved seeing all the records and the be amazing sign was a great photo opportunity. As far as the drinks we got great service and although my Moscow mule was not in its traditional cup, it wasn’t bad. We ended up being seated fairly quickly after our reservation time and the servers were great. I ordered the short ribs and unfortunately it was fairly fatty. So much so I was not able to get it down, and almost choked, so I alerted the wait staff I wanted to change my dish to a hamburger which they did very promptly. At any rate the burger was interesting and didn’t have a traditional burger flavor and it tasted a little strange like it had some sort of cleaning agent in it and over salted. The fries were good. At any rate I recommend this place for drinks. Maybe I didn’t find the right special. The bar and wait staff here was great.
This place covers all bases. I love that you didn’t have to whisper. It was so relaxing yet fun. I love the photo booth. The food could have been better along with more cocktail choices. I DO recommend it to anyone.
Chambers is an interesting step back in time where the vibe and decor are set in the 70's. The area is not the best, but the restaurant provided a niche atmosphere and setting that we enjoyed. The music was cool and in keeping with the multitude of old '78's that deck the walls. There's a fireplace and nice bar, and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Not too much for the vegan with us, though some veggies and the daily vegan dish proved enough. We would go back for the mood and the food - and staff.
Went for brunch before ballet. Waitress excellent once seated. Hostess and greeter not so.. Had res and wanted outside- they dont reserve outside or manage tables. Inside is dim -better for night. Food just ok. My pork cheek in breakfast special was all fat. Place could be fun for. drinks.
We had dinner before heading to the theater and it was excellent. Brussel Sprouts and prawns were awesome!
Can't beat this place,.....even while the service can use an upgrade, its still an excellent experience.
The atmosphere was cool. The wagyu appetizer was devine and the cauliflower seasoning was scrumptious! Good service too!
We chose Chambers because it was good proximity to the Orpheum Theatre. It was an easy 10 minute walk, through a really sketchy neighborhood. The restaurant itself was great. Great decor, good variety on the menu from burgers to vegetarian, and service was really great. They made sure that we were out the door in time for the show. The biggest drawback is the location. We were with 12 year old girls, and wouldn't want to walk to/from the restaurant if it were dark. Everything else was great, and we were really happy once we got inside. We had fun giving our 12 year olds a lesson on "old fashioned vinyl records" and how they worked. We will definitely go there again.
Awesome brunch! Pork belly was incredible.
Super cute hideaway. Limited menu but a great place for a drink and snack
The food and service were excellent! This restaurant is connected to a hotel pool area, so there were people coming into the restaurant to bring drinks out to the pool. It didn’t bother us, but it might ruin the mood for some people.
Great ambiance, decorated super well inside Chambers and overlooking the pool area of the Phoenix Hotel. The food is priced appropriately, and it's nice to be able to get brunch for two under $50 in San Francisco!
Great service and ambiance but the music was too loud! Hard to have a conversation! And my food was too salty.
We started with top notch cocktails by Joel. After, moved to a table and enjoyed Appetizers and entrees. The octopus confit was especially delicious. Great ambience, service, food, and drink. We’ll be back!
Great food and ambiance. Sketchy location
I used to love this place. The decor is very nice and I love the motl/pool view on the outside. Unfortunately the coktails were not great, a lot of the main courses were already out at 8.30pm! The white wince we ordered was not chilled.. Music average..
This is a stylish restaurant with great food and a friendly and attentive wait staff. Because it is so stylish, it is a great place for birthdays, date nights, or other occasions. However, the food is a good value, so you can feel free to enjoy it anytime.
We were late for our reservation and I received a no show email from Open Table. Subsequently I received this email so I trust you will correct we were a no show. Thanks!!!
Excellent food, vibe and service. Loved the brunch selections!
Amazing. Must try. Food & Service excellent.
Cool cool place yet unpretentious. Neat interior design with album library covering the walls and unique lighting fixtures. Waitresses dressed in eclectic and avant-garde clothing. We were by far the oldest couple in the house yet didn’t feel out of place. Menu is limited but we enjoyed the short ribs and pork chops. We brought our own wine bottle but corkage fee of $18 is reasonable. We left before the DJ started playing in the back.
Chambers is a funky little spot in a 50’s style motel. It was a big hit on Valentine’s Day when we were there but we were in on business. A great selection of craft cocktails. The service was good and food was very good. Short Rib excellent. A very unique place and worth the trip.
Food and table service very good. Different put nice atmosphere. One downside, the bar is very strange. Limited selection at the bar with a bartender that measure everything to a fraction of an ounce.
Cool ambiance, but food was mediocre at best. Butternut ricotta ravioli was too spicy to finish. Service was okay.
Went here for dinner before a show at GAMH and was super surprised! Food was great, super cool rock n roll vibe and service was good!
Perfect location for a pre-show dinner.
We were there for brunch - options were plentiful and all sounded tempting! Went with the huevos rancheros with a side of pork belly - DELICIOUS. The cocktail list all looked great but we'd been up very late so stuck with the french press coffee. Will definitely return.
Excellent food - try the Osso Bucco for dinner an d Bread Pudding for dessert. Also good drinks including dessert cocktails. However the appetizers are quite small for the price. And while our waiter was great the rest of the staff and/or policies seemed newbie. For example, why should we check in twice upfront just because they aren’t ready for us? Why can’t we transfer our drink bull to the table? Why does the bartender spend 10 minutes waiting for a small group to decide what drinks they want (tasting some samples) while the rest of us wait to out in our orders or wait for him to make our drinks? That kind of newbie - ish mistakes. awe will give them another shot but they should try to work on their non-waiter staff.
Megan Bundy is the most beautiful human being in the world.
Great place for a date. Food and service were excellent.
Really cool spot, love the ambiance for happy hour, brunch, and dinner. One of my favorite places in SF
This is a great throwback setting, at a classic old motel. Interior is really great, food very good, and fun.
It was quite cold outside, might need a couple more heaters :)
Food and the ambiance was great. One unfortunate factor was that the table we got was not the best. I made a reservation weeks ahead of time noted that it was for a special occasion and asked to get a table where we can enjoy the ambiance and some privacy but we got seated next to the kitchen and the door to outside swimming pool area. It was cold and very loud because there were two large parties outside and people were keep going in and out. Maybe hostess didn’t see my note on the reservation, but I was disappointed when we got seated. It was unfortunate that my note on my reservation was disregarded so if this continues to happen then I would not recommend this place for friends who want to go for a special occasion, but rather recommend for casual and lively dinner.
