Permanently Closed - Chaloos Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Are you kidding??!!?
We had wanted to try this particular place for quite some time based on many positive reviews. Apparently those reviews are bogus.
We drove for more than 1 hour in heavy traffic. When we attempted to call the restaurant to say we would probably be 10 minutes late due to traffic we learned that the telephone was disconnected. Because we were almost there, we continued our travel. Upon arriving we saw that the restaurant was in total disarray due to remodeling. It was closed. We attempted to contact OpenTable to no avail. Let me say clearly that we are disappointed with this restaurant and OpenTable for allowing us to make that reservation. What kind of outfits are you running?
Great food in an unlikely spot. While the location of the restaurant in a mostly deserted strip mall is unfortunate, once inside it doesn't matter. The Middle eastern/Persian food is very very good -- better than other similar places I've been to in the region. The interior of the restaurant is simple but tasteful and the host (owner?) was professional, polite, and not overbearing despite it being a quiet night. The menu goes a step beyond "street food" and the quality of the cooking was at a level beyond what I would normally expect for a restaurant in such a humble location. It is absolutely worth trying out.
This small persian neighborhood gem serves savory dishes, with outstanding service, across a risk array of dishes. A menu rich in vegetarian options, the owner is attentive while graciously offering suggestions for the unfamiliar. I am a repeat customer who enjoys the warm attentive service.
I am not Persian nor have I eaten their food before so I cannot attest to its authenticity. I can however as someone who loves food trying new foods and dining out say that this place was great. We loved the food, the prices, the server who was quite helpful and friendly and the restaurant itself which from the outside looked closed I will admit but once inside was quite cozy and comfy. We will definitely be dining here again and I would recommend this place to anyone who loves dining out and trying something new.
