Inspired by the Swiss Alps, Chalet Edelweiss offers up traditional Swiss-influenced dishes to customers who stop in to its Westchester neighborhood location. Switzerland is smashed between France, Germany and Italy, and the Chalet Edelweiss menu reflects the unique flavors of Swiss cuisine, with appetizers, homemade soups, salads, classic German entrees, and even Italian wood-fired pizzas as well as sweet desserts. Whether you’re looking for wiener schnitzel or a margherita pizza, or a pot of fondue to share, the menu offers something for every taste.
Chalet Edelweiss uses only fresh ingredients and is a family-owned and operated restaurant. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere that recalls the friendliness of the Swiss Alps where everyone can feel right at home.
Made reservations for dinner on a Saturday at 5PM. Place was nearly empty, but probably because the city's nightlife hadn't started yet. Pizza and bratwurst were excellent. Wanted to try the fondues, but no one else in our party was interested. Because of the minimum of two persons per order, the price was a bit steep for me to go solo. Will definitely come back, though, and this time bring someone who wants to dip with me!
This place is a real great place. From great old-world German/ Swiss food dining and has certain glueten-free items/ sauces. We us them for catering as well ~ yummm!
We enjoyed the food which was veryn good, and good service
The atmosphere was very good and so was the service. The only complaint that I might have was that the batter on the Weiner Schnitzel was a bit over done. The pizza, however, was excellent as was the appetizer that we had, which was the prosciotto and mozzarella.
We loved the goulash! The owner came by and checked to see if everything was ok. Pretzel was delicious as well. Next time trying the cheese fondue! We will. Definitely will be back.
had not had a Raclette in ages, great meal with traditional favorites and enough standard fare for everyone. If you are looking for a relaxed spot for a meal and a break near to LAX this is hard to beat.
Took our Swiss students for a traditional meal on the way to LAX for their return trip to Lucerne
after a 6 month stay with us. Food was very good however, server tried to up-charge for small requests like some more gravy etc. Atmosphere seemed more like a fast food joint.....Whether
we would go back?....not convinced.
Really good sit down restaurant. There are a lot of strip mall types of restaurant options in Inglewood and we really wanted a cool sit down place. What a great surprise. Authentic German and Swiss food, really good pizza. We are coming back
Always enjoy returning for a nicely cooked meal with European flair.
We were happy to find this small German restaurant. There is not too many left in LA . We liked our portions. Size perfect to split for two people. We will be back, next time we close to LAX and we will recommend to our friends to go to you from Santa Clarita Valley . Thank you very much again for attentive service.
Tasteful Bavarian food reasonably prices in a casual atmosphere. We enjoyed the Chicken Schnitzel and homemade dumplings. Serving sizes were enough for us to share. Service was prompt and friendly.
We were surprised how few, if any, Austrian/German restaurants there are in LA. This gem near LAX is worth the trip, particularly for the pretzels, tasty traditional fare, and warm service. The assorted salad and spaetzle were especially good with a cold beer. Prost!
We had a small celebration in a small group there. Good food to share, friendly service, nice atmosphere.
It's hard to find fondue in LA, and even harder to find a great cheese fondue made by people who understand how it should taste. Giving the diners the ability to control the amount of kirsch is genius. My group and I had a marvelous meal!
Been meaning to check this place out for a while. It was recommended by my dad in Switzerland and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is clean modern with a distinct Swiss Restaurant "Beizli" feel. The Zürich Gschnetzlets was great and so was the Rösti (hash browns). I will go back. We met a friend who had a layover to Sidney the location is ideal as it's less than 10 min from the terminals.
We happened to go on a night they had a special Octoberfest buffet. It basically features many of the popular fare from the menu. The price seemed a bit high, but also seemed like the best bet since some of the entree prices for the individual items that were featured in the buffet were nearly the same price. If you go on a night the buffet is offered and get the buffet, be hungry! Also, if you're vertically challenged like me, bring a taller friend as they put the buffet items on the bar which was a little out of my reach.
Always enjoy introducing a friend to this somewhat hidden gem on Sepulveda Blvd in Westchester. Can sit outside in the front, but if traffic too noisy, we go inside where it is quieter. Quick service at lunchtime. Good quality food. Nice change of food compared to typical Mexican, Chinese, Italian, or seafood. Mainly meat dishes.
This small restaurant has great food, nice ambience and good service. The Swiss influence is well received, with amazing food selection. Highly recommended.
We had been to this restaurant a few times in the past, but this time we were disappointed. I always like the rosti potatoes, but this time they were like greasy, frozen hash browns. The food was very salty. We may go back and try different things, but wondered if they had changed recipes or cooks. I think the owners are the same. They perhaps should get their bratwurst from Alpine Village! My husband had pork and it was very overlooked and dry.
We love to come here with friends who drive us from San Diego to LAX when we have to catch a late night International flight to Asia or the South Pacific. Exceptional Swiss/German food and wonderful ambience. Feels like a restaurant in Germany or Switzerland.
