Chakra Ratings and Reviews
Atmosphere was very romantic. The waiter was courteous and attentive. My entree selection was the Chilean sea bass, potatoe wrapped shrimp w bok choy. My husband selected the hanger steak. Neither of us were impressed with our meal. There was no flavor at all. Maybe if they hire a new chef we would return. It’s unfortunate as the ambience was super cozy and relaxing.
This was our second time here and we came back because we loved it the first time. The food was excellent again but the service once we got to our table was terrible unfortunately. The hostesses and bartenders were great, the waiter and bus staff was terrible.
We had had a nice dinner at Chakra a month ago, so decided to go back. Unfortunately, a very large birthday party (80 people?) was being held there at the same time, and the kitchen couldn't keep up. The waiter did his best, but we waited a long, long time for our entrees. To Chakra management: if you're going to book a large party, don't fill the rest of the place, too! Don't think we'll be going back.
My Wife and I went to Chakra to get out for her birthday, 8pm on a Saturday night. We really liked our corner table (both on couch) and the overall ambiance of the place. Ordered the small Sushi/Maki/Sashimi platter and Crab Cake for Appetizer. We had the Steak and Ahi (Tuna) main courses. Food was great. Waiter (I believe his name was Vinnie) was very nice and attentive. Highly Recommend.
The food was good but the service was disjointed. We had to ask for bread for the table, and it took a long time to get our appetizers and food. They forgot one of our appetizers which they gave us free of charge. Our waiter never came over to ask if we wanted to refresh our drinks. The managers were looming on the floor and were in the way of the wait staff doing their jobs.
The service was amazing. Everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable. I had everything that or server recommended and it was delicious. From the drinks; to the entree; to the dessert. The ambiance was excellent. The place is beautiful and the decor is very romantic. I loved everything about it. Definitely will be returning.
Dinner with a colleague. Found the restaurant on this app. Figured it looked good. The outside of the place doesn't do the inside justice. Very nice decor, comfy and cozy feeling. Food was impeccable. Steaks and seafood was very good. A must try if you're in the area.
Disappointing. The restaurant is gorgeous and extremely romantic. Lovely place. I've wanted to go for years, and finally did Saturday night with a reservation. Restaurant was half empty, which surprised me. We weren't acknowledged when we walked in by the host at the desk as he prepared to seat guests ahead of us. Another man seated us, but was distracted as he took us to the table, and said he'd bring a beer and wine list, but never did. Our server eventually arrived (it was not busy) and got the list for us. We eventually ordered. Food came out fast. My TC Steak was ordered medium and came out medium rare; my dining companion's lamb was cooked medium instead of medium rare. We did not raise the issue; I'm sure they would have fixed it but at these prices, I shouldn't deal with mistakes, one after another. Server was difficult to find when we finished, leading us to waste time waiting. As others did, food is substantially overpriced. I don't mind paying the price in exchange for service. It's a gorgeous venue, but I expect better attention you detail and more attentiveness to your guests.
Make a reservation early in the week and ask for one of four of their better tables. All of the tables are fine, four are better. Romantic date or special occasion makes the bill seem easier, order what you want you can't miss, the marinara sauce was so good it made the fried calamari better than great. Like oysters? call ahead to see if there available. Dessert, get the Waffle. Get here but don't take my table.
Chakra must mean "disappointing" in another language. Though i ate there on a Wednesday night (and therefore can not properly judge its true ambiance) it was still too slow and the big dining space gave the few tables who were in attendance feeling adrift and abandoned.
Unfortunately the waiters were clearly in synch with the slow night by dragging their feet to service the tables, and i as an past waiter myself i am careful to not be demanding in any way. Our waiters attentiveness is something.you would expect on a busy night but not on a slow one. My table of 4 ordered a bunch of appetizers, (the best being their sushi rolls and their crabcake) and also drank two bottles of Siver Oak cab and still couldn't get timely service
In fairness i must admit when at our table our waiter was very personable and friendly, just disappeared to the kitchen too often and left us feeling he wss back their on his phone instead of properly caring for the 5 tables that had guests
The room itself was beautiful. We did go on a summer Tuesday night in July but the place was literally empty. 2 people at the bar and one other 3 top eating. On top of that, the service was absolutely horrible. We were totally forgotten about even though we were the only ones there. Not sure how they can keep up.
The food was good, and fairly priced for what you got, but nothing spectacular.
We dined here for our 25th anniversary. The food was great. The service was outstanding. They gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate and decorated our dessert with a chocolate "Happy Anniversary" sign. It's always great but a bit pricey so we can come too often.
The waiter Pierre was very good, though at times disappeared for a bit...watermelon martini was excellent, as were the otopus, beets, and pizza appetizers.
The 40 day aged steak was a joke however. It was not aged at all, and was gritty and tasteless. They did remove it from my bill on their own accord - I did not ask
Overall very expensive, and the inability to provide a great tasting steak put a curious hole in an otherwise intriguing first visit
