Chachama Grill Ratings and Reviews
It happened to be my husbands birthday but I wouldn’t limit eating there just for a special occasion! Everything about the meal and experience makes it a special occasion! The menu and service are top notch-always. We found Chachama years ago and the standard has never changed. We have brought family, friends who we know have returned with folks without us 😭-never failing to let us know that everyone they’ve brought thoroughly enjoyed the place as well!
In a shopping center but inside it is like an upscale supper club. Quiet enough for a conversation. Very attentive service. A little pricey, but the food is creative and everything is carefully prepared from the warm rolls when you sit down to the flaky, crisp napoleon with homemade whipped cream with excellent coffee.
This hidden gem is very special. From the moment you walk in you are treated like royalty, and every dish is beautifully presented, balanced, and seasoned well. All ingredients are elevated to a level of excellence by the skillful hand of the Chef and the kitchen staff. Bravo! We will be back again and again!
I've been going here for years and years and never once have I had a bad meal service is impeccable the food is to die for the owners are hospitable and sweep the hostess will meet you at the door is always warm and friendly and welcoming the desserts very each time you go in and I have yet to find a dessert that I didn't love in the perfect meal with a delicious cup of coffee as well I truly cannot wait to go back for my next lunch or dinner
This is a very nice place. The people are friendly. The atmosphere is good and it is quiet. I was disappointed in the food this time. The Thai salad was soggy and One could not taste the calamari or distinguish much of anything else. My tuna was fine and the people with me loved their dishes, especially the pumpkin appetizer.
I've dined here several times. I have never been disappointed. The service is excellent, menu choices are interesting and delicious and the wine list is very good, but also very pricey. We took advantage of the prix fixe menu during the week, which is an excellent value. Just a great neighborhood gem! Worth the drive....
One of the very best restaurants around...it is not cheap, but should not be, because it is the perfect setting for a celebration, and the food is always carefully prepared, fresh, and beautifully presented. I have never had a bad meal here. The menu is inventive but not ridiculously elaborate, with a nice mixture of standards and inventions. You can get a good steak or chop, or fresh seafood, etc. The appetizers are clever but always both attractive and delicious, like the mini-pumpkin stuffed with risotto and cheese, topped with quail...you won't find it elsewhere...I had the rack of lamb, done as well as I ever had, and my brother had the Long Island duck...he picked the wine, which was a very nice Pinot Noir, flavorful & not heavy...honestly, when I want to impress, and want to take friends or family to a quiet, thoughtfully run & supremely professional spot, this is it...
This was our third time here for dinner in the past couple of years. First two times food was spectacular. This time not so much.
As an app, I had fried oysters over spinach and plantain puree and my wife had lobster bisque which she said was very good. The oyster dish was excellent.
For entrees my wife had salmon and I has seafood risoto. Both were mediocre. Salmon was overdone and a little strong in flavor. The risoto missed as it was also overcooked and other than the small oysters any other seafood was hard to find. Also it was seasoned way too heavily with thyme and I thought ruined it. I just think thyme does not work well with shellfish and find it works much better with poultry.
For Desert we both had key lime pie with raspberry sorbet. The sorbet was great but the keylime was not good. Looked like was in freezer prior and was more in line with a Sara Lee desert that what we were accustomed to here.
The server was very good and friendly and we liked her. A pro.
Experience was disappointing overall for what we expected in the past and for the price we probably won't go back.
It was close to 10 minutes before we got menus at our table, and close to another 10 before we had our drinks. It was the same when it came to ordering meals and desserts as well. Kind of a long time, and it wasn't busy. It's nice to not feel rushed, but this was a bit much. Service was good... just a little slow for what seemed like a slow night. Overall great experience though. Food was excellent. Beautiful place, a real hidden gem. Support staff was excellent. Our water glasses were never empty, and they were on top of everything that was their responsibility. Will definitely recommend and return!
This was my second visit - first time was 6 months age.
I live almost 40 miles away but it is well worth the trip.
This little gem tucked away in a strip mall in East Patchogue is of the quality you expect to find in a fine NYC restaurant. Excellent food, beautiful decor, superb service.
Can't wait to return again soon.
While Chachama Grill is located in a shopping center in the eastern part of Patchogue, it is a must visit spot for Fine Dining in Suffolk County. The food is presented beautifully and is generally "American" cuisine.
There is a $38 prixe fixe during the week with very few "up charge" items. We specifially love the Duck Breast with Black Rice, the Rack of Pork and the Shrimp dinner.
For a starter, we like the Oysters Rubio and you cannot go wrong with the dark dark chocolate cake at the finish.
They have a "Latin" night during the week with specials influenced by Chef Elmer Rubio's heritage in El Salvador; they also have a Lobster Bake in season. Even on those special days, you can still order from the regular menu.
Don't miss this place !
