Only three tables occupied on a Thursday night. Food pretty good. Great plain salmon but not cheap. Great Brussels sprouts.
Excellent service and food! Like it when the vegetables are actually cooked! The french green beans were perfect!!
Great food! Extra dessert and appertif! We were well taken care of!
Cetrella is a consistently excellent experience. Try the bisque for a starter. The cappelletti is excellent and unique. You can’t go wrong with any of the grilled options.
The best part of the evening was the live Jazz performances that are held every Saturday night.
Excellent food. We had the filet mignon and pork tenderloin and they were both delicious! I have a food allergy and they accommodated it perfectly with no complaint. The owner always greats every guest personally. The service was excellent too! I highly recommend this place.
The food is reasonably good, as is the service, but for the price there are better places to go. I was particularly disappointed with their wines by the glass. The sauvignon blanc was atrocious, although to their credit they didn't charge me for it.
Our second visit and the food and service was again excellent. Very convenient location with good parking. A reasonable selection of appetizers, nice selection of entrees and desserts. The service is attentive without being overly intrusive. The atmosphere is pleasant with very high ceilings, but the noise level is kept to a minimum. Very nice wine and bar selection as well.
My favorite Los Altos restaurant!
Terrific local spot in Los Altos and is my go to when I want a really nice meal locally. The menu changes seasonally so never get bored and always perfectly prepared in a terrific atmosphere with great staff.
It took a while for food to come. Some dishes were delicious, but my crab cakes were burned too much.
Based on a previous experience at Cetrella, I wasn't looking forward to the dinner with a friend who said he wanted to go there. Ugh I thought. In fact, I was always surprised to see them still in business every time I drove by. Mediocre food, expensive bread, poor service. Why return? However, I did return and I'm glad I did. The food was SO MUCH BETTER. I had the filet mignon and it was perfect. Hubby had the paella. He loved it even though it didn't have any sausage in it. The service had greatly improved, we didn't order the expensive bread (nor was there any on our table), but the real star of the evening was the brussel sprouts. WOWSER! They were great. Food is pricey here. I will absolutely return.
We have enjoyed Cetrella many times and always get excellent service and wonderful food. Try the Scallops for certain. When in doubt ask your server, who will be well informed, or the owner Mamed who is almost always there welcoming guests.
A special mother daughter date! Treated ourselves to an amazing meal. Everything was fabulous. My daughters comment to the lobster raviolis were,” there is a party going on in my mouth with my taste buds!” We ate earlier so not sure about the noise level. But a must try place!
Amazing food as always. Beets and octopus were fantastic. Great cocktails too.
Our favorite restaurant does not disappoint! From the multitude of menu choices, the impeccable prepared food to the just right amount of wait staff attention, Cetrella is a class act.
We had a very nice dinner with cousin and his wife to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. Food was very good and delicious. Good menu selections. Manager and wait staff was friendly and attentive. Good service. Restaurant was comparable to other restaurants of equal value and type. Parking was available at nearby lot.
My only comment was that while our guests were nicely greeted and congratulated on their anniversary, unfortunately they weren’t offered a complementary dessert. A small scoop of ice cream with a candle would have been a nice gesture. “Happy Anniversary” written on their dessert plate would have been a special treat.
We enjoyed our dinner and would return again.
We were warmly greeting at the entrance. One of the friends was recognized by the owner and welcomed with a joyful smile. The waiter patiently waited for the three of us to catch up socially before we read the menu and placed our order. Every meal looked delicious and was enjoyed thoroughly.
Thank You Cetrella! My son and several of his friends came for Prom and they thoroughly enjoyed their experience. They loved the service, the surroundings and the food was great. They all had a special time. It was a great way to kick off their evening for Prom.
We dined on the patio and were served a delicious work lunch, both vegetarian and seafood. Would gladly go back and plan to return soon with my wife, despite the fact that we live twenty minutes North in Menlo Park!
Service was excellent, but food needs work. Soggy fries, overdressed salad, glue-like gnocchi, very bland main course of salmon with what tasted like frozen corn. The accompanying chickpea “cake” tasted more like a military ration. Panda Cotta at the end was too fatty, not the refreshing dish it should be. We won’t go back
Mother’s Day dinner
Excellent food and service. Love the music room and outstanding jazz combos and guest vocalists. Of course, the jazz loving patrons enhance the evening's experience.
Love this place. Friendly staff, great food have a great wine list. One of the nicest restaurants in the Bay area
Easter dinner with family
Very little food on large plates. Food is good though, noise level reasonable, attractive surroundings.
Gnocchi and scallops were incredible! Kale salad also amazing!
Creatively plated food. Oysters were delicious and fresh. Duck was cooked to perfection with a squash (I think) puree beautifully smooth. Dessert - panna cotta - was perfect and beautifully presented.
Chef was having a bit of an off night, the paella was past it's best and the risotto was under cooked. Normally outstanding tonight disappointed.
Impeccable service. Food was cooked to perfection. Was an amazing experience and I look forward to going back very soon
We ate in the bar for lunch and it was lovely!
We had braised lamb and whole fish (sea Bass) which were excellent. Would love to go back and try some other items on the menu. The restaurant is relatively quiet which we like. It is possible to have a conversation without straining to hear. The service was excellent. Attentive without feeling rushed. A little on the expensive side. We go there for special occasions
I’d love to give 5 stars and can’t only due to the price point. It was a lovely dining experience. The setting was very pleasing, food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The staff came and went almost stealthily while attending to our every need and keeping the table spotless. We didn’t have to stop conversing every time someone topped off our water. The portions were quite small and pricey. Didn’t mind the small as it was refreshing not to have mounds of food leftover, wondering if it would really help any starving children in China if you took it home and attempted to eat the next day. My friend and I ordered “off the grill” which was a piece of meat and some roasted garlic, and a side veggie each. If we had split a side there wouldn’t have been one scrap left on the table and I have to say that added to the experience somehow. I will definitely go back and would recommend.
Great food and service!!
Made my reservation for two pm. When we got there we were informed by the owner they close at two and it was 2:07 already. I thought we'd have to go somewhere else but the hostess finally took us to a table.
If they close at two why is the app taking reservations for that time?
It was my wife’s birthday and we wanted to celebrate with our friends. The food and wine was great. We had a nice time.
Second time dining at Cetrella. Wonderful food and service. We will definitely be back.
Cetrella is a nice place and good for foodies who are not limited by allergies. However, they generally cook with a lot of soy and soy oil which I am allergic to so in order to avoid it my food came very plain and tasteless. I think they could have substituted something else instead of leaving everything off and giving me food that was much less flavorful than I cook at home. I don't fault them since I do have food sensitivities, but if you have a soy allergy steer clear. Otherwise I think you will enjoy it and the quiet atmosphere on a Sunday night was conducive to conversation with friends.
Loved our evening, workers there were very professional and made us feel very welcome. I had the Paella and my wife had the Lamb Pappardelle, both of which were very good. I started with an octopus appetizer that, while good, was a bit more money than I like to spend for what I received, but a good starter to the evening. My one complaint, too dark with menu print too small, but next time I'll be prepared. And there will be a next time.
Too much oil on the salmon, made it taste like old fish! no need to put any oil on salmon, it is oily enough!! too much lime and not enough vodka in the cosmos!! next time it will be wine only.
