Cesario's Ratings and Reviews
Went here on NYE so expected it to be busy. We were sat within 5 minutes of our reservation time which was great. Service was fast and friendly. I had the chicken parm which was well seasoned and very flavorful. My wife had the smoked salmon pasta which she also very much enjoyed. Overall a great experience.
Had dinner on New Year's Ev e with 6 of us. The place was packed (not unexpected) which was fine. Service was great. Food was very good. But they've got tables crammed into every possible space. Because our table was large, we were in a fine spot but some of the tables were tucked into spots not intended for tables. Anyway, food was good. Calamari excellent. Lasagna very good.
We ate here on Christmas Eve. It was the first time we dined here and we were very impressed. The food is excellent and the service as well. For such a busy night they were gracious and attentive. We will be coming back through out the year! And the manager was very accommodating as we had reservations at seven but wanted to come earlier and he got us in right away. The atmosphere is great- not too big and noisy but lively enough. It has a cozy feel to it- perfect for a special occasion or just a delicious meal!
Overall, was good, not great, & we arrived few minutes early, saw open table, they refused to seat us! That table sat empty for more than 30 minutes.
Cannot believe they made us wait. Food was on the bland side, but ok. Was crowded, but it was in central location. Our server was very good, but again, cannot believe they don’t move tables along, even when we arrived just before our reservation.
Coming from NYC, it just makes no sense how a business doesn’t fill every seat as their reservations enter, rather than let us stand & wait, while staring at an empty table the entire time. And to boot, there is no waiting area! You’re pushed outside.
This restaurant had great service and even better food. It has been a year since I lived in Italy and this was by far the most authentic Italian food I have had in the States. Portions are not ridiculously oversized and it can be perfect for family or a romantic date.
Cesario's is a nice restaurant, with good food and a convenient location. My friend and I each had a sandwich, not outstanding, but good. The French Fries were steak cut, I prefer them a bit thinner. Service was very good. I ordered coffee and it tasted old, so the server brought me an "Americano", a bit better. It was not overly crowded, but there were enough customers to make us feel comfortable.
We have been to Cesarios on many occasions. We are usually there on a weekend and it is usually packed and moderately noisy. This visit was on a Monday and it was not crowded and quiet. However, we go there for the excellent Italian food. And it was up to its usual high standards. Food is always excellent as is the service. If you like Italian food , if you haven't tried Cesarios, you are missing a great meal.
The pasta was delicious. The pasta and prawns almost had more prawns than my daughter could eat --- a first. The lasagna had an tasty twist --- polenta instead of pasta. And even the old standby spaghetti and meatballs was good. The salad was tossed with the dressing so everything was dressed, so much better than the blob on top. It's a small space and they fill it, so don't expect to spread out. The bread could have been better --- something more rustic and warm.
It took quite a while before anyone came to take our drink order, but once we did get attention things flowed very well. We stopped here for dinner before a show. This is definitely old school SF Italian. The food and beverage is traditional and delicious in a guilty pleasure sort of way. I don’t know when I last had white bread that white and processed. The salads are large. Ask them to easy on the dressing. We had the spinach salad with pancetta and that could have been a whole meal if one wasn’t very hungry. We also had crab cakes, chicken parmesan, and spaghetti with meat balls. My husband likes that last dish. I didn’t. Overall, it’s a fine place to go if you don’t need a foodie experience. Avoid the table by the bathroom, the one by the front door, or outside.
Small quiet restaurant, @ 12-15 tables. I am guessing that our waiter was also the owner. I can only describe him as a "elegant" gentleman. Great location-corner of Sutter and Mason. First floor but above street level. So good place to watch the street activities. I would definitely go back again and again !
This was a very festive, inviting, quaint restaurant. There were four of us, two had veal and Lobster Raviollis and said they were outstanding, the other friend and I had the seafood salad, it was high disappointing. I know its an Italian place but this sounded good to us seafood lovers. I want to go back it was a fun experience, just will order differently.
This restaurant is a jewel, right in the heart of the Union Square and theater district. Every item was true to traditional Italian cuisine but with a modern influence of healthy and tasteful additions. The restaurant staff were always very friendly and helpful. We can't wait to come back!
