One of my favorite local places. Good food, excellent service and reasonably priced. Check out their specials!
Food is great abs service is always fantastic! Such a great neighborhood restaurant...
Authentic Italian food, was delicious! Servers were attentive.
The best pasta dish I have ever had!
A very good local Italian restaurants with great food and wine selections with great service.
Just another cheap joint with high prices. Don’t go there
Old-school Italian and very good. We enjoyed everything but the Limoncello cake was exceptional. We would return.
convenient dining when attending the Marine's Memorial theater next door.
It was a nice meal and I could have a conversation without yelling. The salad was wonderful and I had lobster ravioli. It could have more flavor. We also had their lemon cake and it was so good I almost forgot to share it.
I would recommend this restaurant.
Cesario's is a very small, intimate restaurant. So if it's packed it is noisy. It was very crowded when we were there. However, after saying all that, we most definitely will be going back the next time we visit San Francisco. The food was tasty with very large portions. There were many selections on the menu that I could have chosen, and I would have been happy with all of them. The service was very good.
Delicious dinner! Everything hot and served perfectly for a large party of seven. We had the Bruschetta, veal Scallopini, Veal Saltambucco (sp?) Salmon Scallopini and Tuscan Chicken among others. All great. Attentive staff though main course seems a BIT slow coming out. All good, more time to chat and enjoy two bottles of wine. SMALL place but intimate and not noisy. Highly recommend!
The food was good, Service sufficient and atmosphere nice but noisy.
coming every year for an anniversary and always leave with good food and happy mood
Great food and atmosphere, could not fault the service.
The food was delicious and the service was great! Thank you!
Wonderful food. A bit close in the seating category. Good wine available. Dessert very well done.
Excellent good and friendly, efficient service. We came early for our reservation but were seated immediately. I came with my Guide Dog for the Blind puppy in training and he was accommodated nicely, even warmly.
Our dinner experience at Cesario's was great - we really enjoyed our food, service was attentive and overall a great evening out.
We had theatre reservations and when we asked for prompt service so we'd be on time for curtain, we were especially gratified when we got it! The place was packed and yet the owner sat us promptly when we arrived as we'd reserved via Open Table. All of the help was jamming that night and I overheard someone say that the owner had had to call in extra servers on a night (Thursday) when not that large a crowd had been expected. The food was very good, as it always is. We have been coming here since the place was opened and the food is always consistently good. Even the house wine was very well selected. So of course we'll be back. Being a conveniently located restaurant always helps. This is not a large space but somehow it works even when crowded.
This is one of my favorite Italian restaurants in SF. I usually have the lobster ravioli (which are outstanding) but branched out to penne arrabbiata this time and it was equally good. If you're going on a night where there is an event at Marines' Memorial - I saw a couple who had to wait at least 20 minutes because they hadn't reserved!
Great Italian restaurant close to the Curran. Really small and intimate, which makes it super quaint and quiet overall. The food was good. Calamari was delicious and Tuscan chicken was as well. The special beef stroganoff was not as great but of course, that's not an Italian dish. LOL This was my second visit to the restaurant and I would go back again.
Amazing food!! Great service. One of our favorites!
Definitely have reservations, the restaurant is cozy and you don't want to get stuck at the table by the door. We were able to be seated in a timely fashion and had good service. The food was fresh, flavorful and served by cheerful staff. We did not feel rushed even though the restaurant was small. I would go back. Members of our party are Vegan or Vegetarian with gluten allergies. The restaurant was able to accommodate their needs and serve flavorful food that also was attractive to look at.
Walked over from our hotel arriving 15 mins before our reservation. The restaurant was full but the charming man who greeted us suggested we order a glass of wine to enjoy as we waited for a table. Perfect evening!
Small Italian restaurant just a block or two from Union Square. The service was very attentive and the food was quite good. It's small, but they have a nice selection. No liquor - but wine and beer. The pasta was good as was the chicken picata.
Food was good, service was uneven at best. Our food took a long time to come out. Nice for around the theaters if other places are booked up.
Food is fine but uninspired. Risotto was more like rice than risotto. Dated ambience. my husband and kids felt like their pasta was fine, not fabulous . Great service .
We had dinner between the matinee and evening performances of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. The restaurant was near the theater. The food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. It was perfect!
We got one of the daily specials and it was absolutely fantastic! One of the best meals I have had in a long time.
Excellent food.
It was great!
The meal was amazing! The crab cake appetizer was delicious and the perfect size for sharing with my mom. The wine was excellent and the entrees were perfect. I wasn’t impressed with the hot chocolate after dinner because it was super watery, but my moms coffee was delicious and the lemon mascarpone cake was so delicious I couldn’t help but wolf it down. It was so nice and fluffy and not overly sweet. Perfect dinner before going to see a musical.
Food was amazing, the dinning area is small and we we seated near the kitchen, so noise level was a bit higher than normal, but not terrible.
We saw a show at the Curran Theater and came here for dinner. I was very happy with the location, prices, quality of good, and service. I would recommend it.
As usual - great Italian food. disappointment was when we asked for coffee - this brown liquid had a smell of long-boiled coffee, and when we complained, the answer was “we have only fresh coffee”. It turned out 5 min later that indeed it was simply a coffee-like liquid poured from a big glass kettle... But again, the food is just great, so all good - still highly recommended place to dine!
Environment was intimate, friendly and fast service. The food was only so so in my opinion, but my husband liked his dish. I ordered the polenta lasagna and it just seemed like each layer was cooked separately and not reheadted together. Things just sat on top of each other and was luke-warm. Despite the food on that one occasion, I'd give it another try.
We have made this a must go stop when we go to the City. We have even taken Italian friends and they thought the experience was very positive.
Overall the service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant, but the food was very mixed. Two people at my table didn't eat more than 3 bites of their meals. The rest of us did enjoy our food, but they weren't exceptional. The most unenjoyable part was that the "booth" seat was a bench with a divider in the middle, so that customers sit back-to-back. When ever one person makes the slightest movement, it jostles the whole bench. This was really awkward.
What a wonderful experience! Cozy, warm and romantic atmosphere. Food presentation was beautiful. The quality of the food was phenomenal! Staff, was very pleasant.
A quintessential San Francisco neighborhood Italian restaurant. Cozy, friendly restaurant with good food and you can carry on a conversation in a normal voice.
