Quiet Sunday night, wasn't sure if that would negatively impact food. It did not!! Server was fantastic, friendly and engaging but not too much. Food was spectacular, cooked perfect and presented beautifully.
Ceres is a place we enjoy going for a quiet but delicious night out. It's somewhat formal. Their menu recently was updated and it's even better now. I love the halibut! It's perfect cooked and very tasty.
The food is wonderful, love how most of the menu items are from local farms. I got the filet and pretty much licked the plate clean. Great wine selection too.
Hostess seemed to have forgotten about us when we asked to sit outside. Waited for a table at the bar inside for 30 min to free up. Went to ask hostess, what the timeframe was. Her face showed that she had forgotten us. Other people who had come in after us were seated outside before us. Didn't let that ruin the night and accepted a table inside by the windows to hear the live music.
From the hostess greeting us at the door to each wait person they were very friendly and super helpful throughout our evening. The menu is somewhat limited. Food was good. A concern I had was that there was a wedding and another large group at the restaurant which is in the hotel. I had visions of banquet food. It wasn't that. It was good, not great though. They have a nice outdoor area to eat and a nice bar area.
My husband and I arrived for dinner on a Monday night, the restaurant was very quiet. We were sat right away and our server was very attentive. We got the spinach-artichoke dip for an appetizer, it was delicious! I ordered seared scallops for dinner and he ordered a NY strip steak, medium rare. Dinners took a while to arrive but we weren't in a rush so didn't really worry about it. My scallops were very tasty, but his steak was overcooked, medium well. Our waitress took it back, we were a little worried this time because it took a while to come back again. When it did, it was overcooked again. We told our waitress but he decided to just eat it instead of waiting for the kitchen to cook another one. They did take it off the bill and gave us a free dessert to compensate. Overall a good experience, we'd go back but probably won't get a steak.
The rack of lamb was cooked to perfection as was the filet and seared scallops. All in all a delicious and enjoyable evening.
Celebrated a birthday dinner and drinks, service was excellent and the food was very good.
The service was great and the only reason why I reviewed 3 stars was that there was a function going on in the hotel and they had the bottle of dessert wine there and it took the entire length of dessert course for someone to be sent to get a glass.
Dined here on a warm weekday. Ordered a burger and calamari. Both were delicious. Sat outside which is very nice. Not busy with patrons, waitress was very attentive. Will go back again for sure.
We planned on sitting outside, but Mother Nature didn't cooperate. The restaurant is very modern and clean, but was really quiet...only a few other parties there at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Service was excellent - our waitress was attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, my filet was overcooked (I got the shrimp skewers and filet mignon special). I ordered medium rare and got medium well. Considering the prices and the lack of customers, I expected them to get it right. The server offered to send it back and have another one cooked. I have never liked this option, as that would have meant my wife ate her meal while I waited...and then I would have eaten my meal while she waited. I would have rather they offered to discount my meal or a free dessert. Oh well..,
i had heard about that restaurant, but had never gone. then set up a dinner with wife and daughter. danielle the waitress could not have been any more gracious, always asked if there was anything else she could do for us. The meals were exceptional. I selected the bouillabaise with seafood. Wife and daughter selected the scallops and fried dumplings. they loved it.
the salas, breads and spinach appetizers were very tasy . full of flavor,
overall would give a 5 stars to the whole experience. will go again. d
Ate here a few times and wonderful
I HAVE BEEN AT THIS RESTAURANT MANY TIMES AT THE PAST HOWEVER IT SEEMED THE MENU HAS CHANGED SINCE LAST THAT I BEEN THERE . HAVING SAID THAT THERE IS ONLY 5 TO 7 ITEMS ON DINNER MENU AND U THINK THAT WITH SMALLER MENU KITCHEN STAFF HAVE MORE TIME TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT THEY DOING BUT IT WAS NOT THE CASE WITH MY STEAK I ORDERED MEDIUM REAR COME OUT WELL DONE EVEN THOUGH WAITRESS WAS VERY NICE AND TRIED TO REPLACED THEM BUT DAMAGE WAS DONE. INSIDE RESTAURANT IS BEAUTIFUL NICE SELECTION OF WINES BUT HOSTESS ARE CONFUSED AND UNFRIENDLY.
Our server Andrew was great everything else not so much, pricey for the quality
My wife took me to Ceres Bistro on a recent Sunday for dinner in celebration of my 50th birthday. We admittedly eat relatively early, so we showed up for our reservations at 4:00 PM for dinner. There were two other parties finishing up their (presumably) lunches when we arrived, but by the time that we ordered drinks from our superb server, Deanna (I hope that I spelled her name correctly), we were the only patrons remaining in the tastefully-appointed, quiet and romantic dining room. I chose a subtle Pinot noir from California, I believe, but my wife opted for ginger ale. The tuna appetizer was perfect; the tuna was probably the freshest I've enjoyed, and we've eaten in several Asian countries (Japan, Singapore and Bali) that all boast fresh tuna. The cauliflower-based soup was out-of-this-world, my sea bass was superlatively fantastic and my wife reported that her scallops were similarly excellent. Deanna was attentive but never intrusive, the food was all perfectly done and the presentation was top-notch. We'd been meaning to try the Ceres Bistro for a couple of years now, and we're ecstatic that we finally have done so. We will definitely not wait long to return. Outstanding!
According to our server we were being treated to a new menu, well, new or old it was superb.Thanks. You.
Our waiter was wonderful and brought beautiful celebratory champagne and dessert for our newly engaged daughter and fianceé! All the food we ordered was delicious as well. Great evening.
Was really disappointed that one of the dishes most advertised was OuT on a Saturday night@ 7pm, the food was good menu limited, service was excellen, facility was rather drab
We have going to Ceres for a few years. It seems that in the last 12-18 months the quality of the service has taken a severe hit and the food is only so-so these days. We used to come 2-3 times a month, but it will be probably be quite a while before we return.
Excellent food! My wife loves the Halibut, and I can't wait to go back for the schnitzel again!! The service was great as well. Ask for Andrew. He was knowledgable and not overbearing. Timing was great!
A complete waste of time and my hard earned money! Will never go back again!!
The new menu was outstanding! Fresh seafood was delish! From oysters and calamari to halibut and grouper. The entire night was exceptional from start to end!
I always look forward to a dinner at Cere's Bistro. This particular night I enjoyed the halibut and it was truly the best halibut I have eaten anywhere. I also recommend the arugula, beet and goat cheese salad. It goes without saying that you should save room for dessert.
Cere's Bistro meets and exceeds all expectations. The food is outstanding, the menu diverse and interesting, the service is attentive and cheerful, and the ambiance exceptional.
We had a fantastic time. Everything was superb. Service was superb. Raw Tuna is great. Dessert was amazing too!
Cere's Bistro is one of my most favorite dining experiences. The food is exceptional, the ambiance very special and the service dependably attentive. I look forward to returning soon.
We had agreat experience here last weekend.the wait staff was very attentive and the food was well prepared and delicious!
Restaurant was good, but pricing was very high in comparison to similar restaurants. Service was great.
The food here was amazing and not too much but the perfect amount. It was perfect for its price and we would definitely eat there again. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and the waiter was helpful with drink options and food options.
very pleasant, quiet atmosphere .. food and service excellent
My party went there for Valentine's Day and they were serving a pre fix menu. We had a picky teen with us and they were able to pull out a childrens menu that worked out fine. The only downside was a fire alarm that lasted a bit and was very loud. I guess the worcester fire dept had to shut it off and check out the building. There was no fire.
The 4 course dinner was superb and the portions generous. The desserts were really out of the box thinking good. Mine was a poached pear over chocolate mousse with a sauce that tasted like melted white chocolate! The other courses were great, featuring Tuna, lamb, beet salad, beef filet and salmon.
Another dinner at Cres...food is always good, service is excellent, never a disappointment. I could have done without the fire alarm going off for what seemed an eternity. Not the restaurants fault however, so I can't sing them. Great night out.
We went the Saturday before Valentine's Day, and the restaurant was only about half full. Despite this, they must have been understaffed because it took about 10 minutes for someone to come and take a drink order or even bring us water. Immediately after our dinner was served a fire alarm went off and we had to listen to it for at least 5 minutes, maybe 10. It was horrible, completely distracting, and ruined what was supposed to be a romantic evening. It was minus five degrees outside, otherwise I may have gone outside to wait out the noise. Even though you can't prevent something like that from happening, I feel a manager or person of authority should have come around and offered to compensate us SOMEHOW for a completely miserable experience during our $250 meal. The food was good, but the overall experience was awful, and it was clear that no one cared at all.
A lovely meal to celebrate two birthdays. Attentive service, good menu choices and candles on the dessert!. The braised ribs were wonderful and the offer to prepare a vegetarian meal was wonderful. We sat in the smaller dining room and it was a little tight for six. The meal did not disappoint and the service was helpful and just right.
Restaurant is extremely unwilling to accommodate food allergies. Staff provided inconsistent information to guests dining in the restaurant with some finger-pointing about who is right or wrong on the staff. After being told by the hotel manager and other restaurant staff that we could bring our own food, given food allergies, we are ultimately told that we were not permitted to do this the choice is basically eat what was on the menu or starve.
we had a busines meeting and worked out perfectly! food was excelent, and friendly and helpfull. definetely place to be reccomended and we will be back
We had a reservation on a Saturday night for 4. We were seated right away in a very large banquet style booth/table - way too big for 4 people - the table was so wide we were too far away from our friends. It was not in the main part of the restaurant, with no view, especially for us as we were facing the wall. The view of the patio and beyond is actually very pretty.
We sat there for at least 10 or more minutes - 4 people with 3 menus although hostess said she was bringing another. A party of 2 came in after us, sat nearby, were waited on and had a drink and we were still waiting for service. My husband got up and told the hostess we'd like to move, she moved us with no problem, as there were not that many tables occupied - she put smack dab in the middle of the room at a regular table although there were booths available nearby.
Service was slow, and not overly attentive. We went along... until one person in our party got her meal, which was the shortribs, and one look we knew it wasn't good. They came atop a shredded carrot or butternut bed that was very acidic. The meat was absolutely dried out and stringy and just the appearance was unappealing. Our friend was so polite, she didn't say anything right away - but we did tell the waitress at the end of the meal - she apologized and did take it off the bill, and comped desserts. We tried a chocolate raspberry cake - pretty dry, nothing special. The toffee pudding was a better choice. Seared Scallops were good, although lukewarm. The two other fish dishes ordered were said to be okay. One salad was ordered, greens and large slices of pale tomatoes - uninspiring.
Considering the price, quality of food and below average service, we won't be returning soon.
We had another fabulous meal here this past Saturday. The wait staff and the food were outstanding. It is truly a wonderful addition to the Worcester restaurant scene
Not great. Much better dinning options in Worcester.
