Nice bar, outside dining and menu. Have eaten here for lunch & evening dinner. So much potential if promoted, lovely setting, nice outside dining for lunch, nice booths for evening dinner. Clean fresh bar.
Excellent food and service. Nice atmosphere.
Food was very good, but the service was disappointing. I have never come across something quite like that. The waitress supposedly has been doing this for well over a decade yet acted as if she'd never served a day in her life. Full of excuses and just strange behavior. Bad day? I don't know. Left me very confused. Not sure I would go back and that is very unfortunate because food was really good.
We had breakfast. The food was great and the staff was courteous and friendly. We wish they had outdoor dining for breakfast.
Service was a bit slow at arrival though the dining room was fairly empty. The patio was full and there was live music. The doors were open so we could hear well enough without being overwhelmed. Both of our meals were quite well prepared and presented. One area of improvement would be the wait/Service staff, just seemed inexperienced for an upscale establishment.
This has been a favorite for many years and it never disappoints.
It was a beautiful day to sit outside . Waitress was great. Just about the right pace for us.
They were accommodating to change some of the preparation due to allergies.
Not busy at lunch time on a Monday. The beet salad with the chicken on the side was nice for lunch.
Excellant Buffet. Great selections. Salmon, shrimp and beef entree 1st quality. All selections well above average. Eager to go back for Dinner.
What a great place! We couldn't even tell that we were in the heart of Worcester. The view and ambience from the outdoor site is great. We went during their Music Series that is on Wed and Thursday nights from 6:00-9:00. Food was great but the service was even better. They were so helpful and friendly!
Food and Service were Really bad...!!!
Choices made it hard to decide. Very good meals and appropriate portions.
Poor service. Charged for food we never got. Waitress rarely checked in with us.
I don't know. While it wasn't awful, it didn't dazzle either. Ambiance was lovely, but the food only ok for me. It seemed for the prices one might expect more. It was an okay experience.
Ceres is usually very good however the food was served cold and they were empty at the time?
A group of three friends meeting on a hot day to enjoy the patio- we were all surprised by the complete lack of seasonality on the menu. It was 94 degrees and there were no chilled soups; we at least expected gazpacho. The soup offering was italian wedding soup! Sandwich selections were also "heavy" for the season and salads were uninspired. Patio was pretty though..,
Meh. This used to be my favorite Worcester restaurant. Now, it's just meh. Please to hear Sonoma will be taking over.
I was at Beechwood Hotel for a workshop. I went to Ceres for my lunch break and was greeted by friendly and attentive staff. I ordered Cream of Asparagus soup and a Mixed Green salad. Both were very good and filling for a light lunch. During my meal, my table server appropriately checked in to see my needs were met. Overall, a relaxing and yummy lunch. I hope to return for dinner. While, I did not sit at the bar it appeared fully stocked and inviting.
Lovely boullibaise! Take my family for dinner and/or Sunday brunch whenever I'm in Worcester.
Delicious lunch, presented beautifully. I plan to bring a friend within the week! I am looking forward to the summer jazz on the patio.
We are never disappointed at Ceres Bistro! Thanks to all who made our evening so great.
You can tell this is a hotel. They brought out the Cheerios while we were eating for the next day breakfast buffet.
It was our first time there. Birthday occasion. excellent choices, and very knowledgeable staff
This was my first time here and we will definitely be back. Outstanding service, delicious food and excellent value.
Andrew is our reason why we keep coming back. He is awesome!
Special occasion made even better with great service, food, and atmosphere. thank you to all...
Small portions. However very good food and nice atmosphere.
The staff are terrific. They went out of their way to make this business traveler feel at home.
Food and service were excellent. Seating was very good.
The only thing is the pricing, it's too high !!!!
However we would go back.

I was looking for a place that had a nice ambiance and where I could have a good (quiet, uninterrupted) conversation with a friend from out of town whom I was meeting. I knew the Beechwood would be perfect, and it was.
I am always happy to dine here. Everything is wonderful - the food, the service, the ambiance. It is a very special place.
Tasty and well-prepared dishes. Very attentive, but not obtrusive, service. Our first time here and we will be back soon.
We chose to celebrate our first anniversary where we had dinner on our wedding night. While the food was good, the menu had not changed in a year. That may be fine for the typical diner, but one of us is vegetarian, so the only real option is soup and salad. Additionally, the restaurant and bar seemed over-taxed with large parties causing the host to run from the bar to the dining room and the server to be a bit preoccupied. While our experience was fine, we decided that for our second anniversary we'll search for another place to celebrate.
The chicken and duck entrees were delicious, however the Bouillabaisse Rouille was bland with poor quality seafood (limited) very disappointing, not worth ordering. As for dessert, the vanilla crème brûlée was terrible; the custard wasn't smooth and lacked any flavor.
Went on Valentine's Day for third year in a row. Will not go again. Was seated in separate room against back wall when main restaurant was only half full. Prix-Fixe menu was $60. The food was OK but main entree was cold when served. Have had a good meal on other visits but would not go back for special occasion. Overpriced for quality of the meal.
It pains me to write this review because up until this last visit, Ceres Bistro was one of my and my wife's top restaurants in the area. We went for a Valentine's Dinner date. We were disappointed right from the start when we realized that it was a select Valentine's Day 4 course meal menu only. We figured that regardless, the food is great so we'll go with it. My wife and I selected different options for all 4 courses. My first course was French Onion soup, hers was a beet salad. The soup was well done but I was disappointed to realize it was a golden French Onion soup not the traditional beef broth. It was still good but not what I expected. The beet salad was good but missing the goat cheese as described in the menu. 2nd course- lobster ravioli for me and pan seared scallops for her. The lobster ravioli was delicious (best meal of the night). The pan seared scallops were good but a bit undercooked. 3rd course- sirloin for me and swordfish for her. My steak was cooked perfect (med-rare) but lacked seasoning and had a few good spots of hard grissle in it. The swordfish and baby octopus showed up cold, they were good to bring back a new warmer one quickly. It was pretty dry so my wife didn't finish it and chose to not to get anything else. They cooked her another one and put it in a to-go bag anyway for us to bring home. For dessert - Nutella cheesecake and she got profiteroles. My cheesecake was great. My wife was expecting creme puffs, what she got was 2 mini rock hard ice sandwiches. The tops and bottoms of the profiteroles were literally rock hard, couldn't get through it stabbing it with a fork. The chef said the roll was less creme puff and more biscotti-like. With ice cream all over it couldn't be picked up so no idea how these were to be eaten? We did notice the next set out of the kitchen didn't have the tops on them though, guess they realized you couldn't possibly cut through then especially onto of ice cream. For $120, it was very disappointing.
FOOD WAS COOKED NOT NOT YOUR WAY 2 COURSE ONE DISH WAS GREAT THE OTHER DISH MISSED ITS TARGET [ WERE S THE FRIO GRAI ] STEAK WAS OVER COOKED SALMON WAS COLD
Went on a Saturday night for an early dinner. The quality of the food and drinks, and the attentive service, made for a very enjoyable evening. Since Ceres is attached to a hotel, and a little bit away from the main drag, I think that it is under valued and under appreciated. Worth trying.
We normally go for dinner which is usually very good. I took my mother for her birthday on Feb 5th. Service was very slow. Our food arrived it was warm not even close to being hot. Very disappointing. Nobody even came back to see how breakfast was. Definitely not going back for breakfast.
Some of the best fine dining in Worcester, IMHO. A tad on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. My pork chop was so tender, I almost could use a butter knife. And the ambiance of this place cannot be beat. If you have a special occasion coming up and can spend a little extra, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed!
Ceres is always great. It is pricey but worth the price as the food and atmosphere are fantastic.
During the wintertime avoid, if possible, seating next to the floor to ceiling windows as it can
be cool to cold next to them. Plenty of seating away from the windows.
