Service is always pleasant. Food is fabulous (brunch). Nutella crepes is the kids favorite (only listed on dessert menu so ask). Always fun because lots of families and the balloon/magician in the back to entertain the kiddies while you wait for your meal. And the in-laws (grandpa & nana) enjoy it too.
You instantly get transported to a café in France. It's as close to going overseas and still be in NYC. Not only is the space reminiscent but the food is very authentic as well. Great mussels, quiche, pate, and foie gras !! Can't wait to try desserts next time.
So my wife wanted to take her father and grandfather to the establishment. Everything was going well until we ordered. None of the appetizers came out and we went straight to entrees. The entrees was all requested for well done except for my dish (the steak) which was medium well. Well, the ribs came medium well and mine came out well done. The dessert was ok but I was disappointed with the creme brulee as they overdid the top making the rest of the dish to be very warm.
Plus, the restaurant was hot until they finally kick off the air conditioning.
Yeah, I do not think I will be coming back.
The food was very good however the server was nice but had zero training. The prices are such at this place you should expect servers with very attentive service standards. Everything we needed was a process and the server lacked basic skills like always serve or attend to females at the table first.
Starting a Christmas Eve tradition here: Kir Royales and live music (think loungey and/or burlesque-ey vibe). There was a great duo up first, the lead playing percussion with her bangle bracelets and then a trumpet and sometimes her great voice. Next up was (the maitre d'?) in a fabulous red dress singing French lounge. Amazing! Great servers (we had the same server last year and he is awesome!) and great way to celebrate!
Went there for lunch for the first time on a Tuesday, late afternoon. My friend ordered the quiche and I ordered the croque monsieur. The food was very basic French bistro food and it was good although nothing exciting. We also ordered glasses of wine, the Bordeaux, for $8. This was a great bargain since the wine was absolutely excellent. But what made the lunch most special was the superb service by the waitress. I wish I had gotten her name but I didn't. All I can say is that I will be back again. To me service is as important as the food.
One of the only places I can order my favorite cocktail, French 75, and not be annoyed! Elegant decor and beautiful woodwork yet casual artsy vibe.
The escargot is delish! Canard is amazing!
Can't wait to go back.
On previous visits, the wait staff have been excellent. This time we had a busser who was getting quite annoying constantly checking AND ASKING if we were done. We had lots of food still on our plate.
I rated service four stars because that is normally what they deserve.
