I have been here several times and always have enjoyed the friendly service and great food. Recommend the steak tartare, mussels, and cassoulet as well as the duck and chicken - I guess most everything my various friends and I have had were enjoyable.
The soup was modestly portioned and the cassaulat lacked a depth of flavor.
Went late on a Friday night & was not crowded. Lovely decor, service was not bad but not attentive for the price. Food was good but not amazing, duck break a bit too salty, but would try again.
Very good French restaurant with an Old World atmosphere. The foie gras, cassoulet and mouless were all superb.
I love the fact that they have a magician there to provide entertainment for the kids
and that way parents and friends can enjoy their meals and conversations.
Service is always pleasant. Food is fabulous (brunch). Nutella crepes is the kids favorite (only listed on dessert menu so ask). Always fun because lots of families and the balloon/magician in the back to entertain the kiddies while you wait for your meal. And the in-laws (grandpa & nana) enjoy it too.
This restaurant saved our new years after my boyfriend's poor planning. Wonderful service, staff, and food. Thank you.
We are longtime Tribeca residents and when tourists pack The Odeon, this is a great alternative. It is authentic and not a scene.
Friendly staff, delicious mussels!
Good food and service. But very noisy.
Late dinner with friends and it couldn't have been more perfect. A quiet and intimate time with good service and great food.
Love this local spot for lunch and brunch. Service is always outstanding - a staple classic french restaurant. bread is awesome. Didn't notice the stellar french onion soup on the lunch menu but its to die for!
Great little find for classic Bistro food. Quiet at lunch, but as in Paris in August, everyone's away. Great attentive service.
Unfortunately we were dining during a toddlers birthday party and certain children were permitted to scream at whim without any repercussions from the adults that were present
Great find, good food and nice ambiance. Bartender Andrew does a great job with different margueritas
You instantly get transported to a café in France. It's as close to going overseas and still be in NYC. Not only is the space reminiscent but the food is very authentic as well. Great mussels, quiche, pate, and foie gras !! Can't wait to try desserts next time.
The food and service was outstanding. Highly recommended eating at this restaurant .
The overall experience was not so great. The service provider was nice but very slow. The bottle of Rose Wine we ordered was warm. The chicken wings were tasty but pricey for what you get.
We went for Sunday brunch and it was great. Not crowded, lobster club was amazing and so was the service. Will definitely go back.
I've been to this restaurant about five times service food overall Always a wonderful experience with a great staff!
So my wife wanted to take her father and grandfather to the establishment. Everything was going well until we ordered. None of the appetizers came out and we went straight to entrees. The entrees was all requested for well done except for my dish (the steak) which was medium well. Well, the ribs came medium well and mine came out well done. The dessert was ok but I was disappointed with the creme brulee as they overdid the top making the rest of the dish to be very warm.
Plus, the restaurant was hot until they finally kick off the air conditioning.
Yeah, I do not think I will be coming back.
Had to move outside in the hot sun because of the decibel level inside.
The food was very good however the server was nice but had zero training. The prices are such at this place you should expect servers with very attentive service standards. Everything we needed was a process and the server lacked basic skills like always serve or attend to females at the table first.
The cockroaches on the bench did me in
We had a waiter who was new and unfortunately terrible at his job. But the food was good and the rest of the staff tried to make up for him and was nice.
Very good bistro feel. Decent food at an OK value.
Wonderful bistro with cabaret as an added treat! Delicious food with friendly service.
Fun atmosphere. Great music. Not overwhelming.
Maybe the best Frisee aux Lardons in the area, really. Being French I have tried a few over the years and this is definitely the best in the neighborhood.
Great wine list from France with unusual and unique cepages.
Great with kids on an early brunch saturday and sunday has they have a magician who performs til 12:30 or 1pm or for a drink with friends a late afternoon on a sunny day, they have a great outdoor space.
The food and service were exemplary. It's a good place to carry on a conversation, as it's fairly quiet. The cost is pricey.
Starting a Christmas Eve tradition here: Kir Royales and live music (think loungey and/or burlesque-ey vibe). There was a great duo up first, the lead playing percussion with her bangle bracelets and then a trumpet and sometimes her great voice. Next up was (the maitre d'?) in a fabulous red dress singing French lounge. Amazing! Great servers (we had the same server last year and he is awesome!) and great way to celebrate!
Uppity service, so-so food and noise spilling over from the kid's party room make for a deadly combination for brunch. Avoid, unless you're under 10 and have been invited to a party.
Nice bistro experience with good bistro food. Felt like being back in Paris before Paris got overrun with tourists and mom and pop restaurants went out of business due to high rent gentrification.
Service, food, wine and location: all five stars as far as I'm concerned. The best French food without the attitude.
excellent food, very nice atmosphere, great service.
Went there for lunch for the first time on a Tuesday, late afternoon. My friend ordered the quiche and I ordered the croque monsieur. The food was very basic French bistro food and it was good although nothing exciting. We also ordered glasses of wine, the Bordeaux, for $8. This was a great bargain since the wine was absolutely excellent. But what made the lunch most special was the superb service by the waitress. I wish I had gotten her name but I didn't. All I can say is that I will be back again. To me service is as important as the food.
Nice french bistro style decor with reasonable food. On the two occasions I have been service was very poor. Other than taking the order the waiter was MIA for most of the meal...
One of the only places I can order my favorite cocktail, French 75, and not be annoyed! Elegant decor and beautiful woodwork yet casual artsy vibe.
The escargot is delish! Canard is amazing!
Can't wait to go back.
On previous visits, the wait staff have been excellent. This time we had a busser who was getting quite annoying constantly checking AND ASKING if we were done. We had lots of food still on our plate.
I rated service four stars because that is normally what they deserve.
Great service and food was mostly good. The atmosphere is friendly and we had great service. The outdoor dining is preferred when the weather is nice.
