The market showcases a selection of imported Italian specialty items along with locally sourced meat, sustainable fish, and produce from local farms. The Centrolina kitchen produces daily hand crafted fresh pasta and sauces, antipasti and entrees available for takeaway. The Centrolina bakery offers a daily changing array of biscotti, crostata and cakes in addition to locally made bread from Bread Furst and a full service Barista bar featuring Vigilante coffee.
Centrolina was a terrific experience! As we walked in, and the host was seating us, the nearby bartender shot me a great smile...I knew right then we were in for a wonderful evening. The food was superb, and the service warm and welcoming. Couldn’t have been better. 😃
We were seated in a non descript corner opposite the door and behind the bar. It was kind of like eating in a broom closet. It was also very cold - and I'm usually hot! Our waiter did his best to make us feel special, and when we expressed dissatisfaction with our table, we were moved to a more lively spot for our dessert course. A good way to sell us dessert! Food and service were excellent, but original seating was bad. They should reconsider selling that table.
Despite dining in the midst of a renovation, Centrolina made the evening very special from the start. Our waiter, Chad, made us very comfortable and set the pace of drinks, appetizers, food, and dessert perfectly.
The Branzino was cooked to perfection and beheaded and tailed at the table. The Nantucket scallops were succulent and also served with carrot shavings and acid to blend/melt in your mouth. Thank you!
Il faut partager des plats pour gouter un max de plats
Les pâtes au lapin sont fabuleuses
The food was good (but I've had better elsewhere). The service was good. However, the restaurant was freezing and our coffee was served cold. It's hard to enjoy a place when you are freezing.
Perfect and lovely. Best wait staff I have ever experienced.
Great food, but not the place you want to go if you’re starving. The food took almost an hour to arrive and the portion wasn’t too big. It was very delicious for me, who is a light eater, but my companion was famished even after we ate 😬. Still the food was really good!
Delicious! Great service. Good people watching. Will be back.
Amazing!!! The food was incredible! Pasta Pasta Pasta!!!
Amazing original Italian food. Fish and meat was to the point. Love the place
Met two friends for dinner and was very pleased to be seated in a small room with just two tables so we could actually hear each other -- getting rare in restaurants lately! Service was attentive and informative and the server was willing to prepare 4 checks (one needed to put liquor on a separate personal card). Enjoyed an unusual cocktail he suggested that would never had picked -- had lavender honey but was tart and refreshing, not sweet. Shared a seafood grill and squid ink pasta -- both outstanding!
Food was exceptional as always and the entire staff was amazing - especially our server Arty. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent as always. The food was amazing—always ask about the fish. Got a side of pasta and the verde salad.
The chef is amazing as is the entire Centrolina team.
Excellent meal, service and wine list. A great evening!
Last time I was in DC a few months ago I checked out the Michelin-starred SFOGLINA, which was quite enjoyable. That was a group of 6 friends from my previous DC-area job. While it was good, one of my foodie friends said “you should check out Centrolina next time you’re in town, they make all their pasta in-house.”
I did indeed make a reservation for 5 of us to go to Centrolina. I couldn’t get a dinner reservation at short notice so we had a 12:30p Saturday lunch reservation. That’s actually “brunch” because we noticed that the menu (which changes daily) had at least four entries that included eggs. The waitron informed us it has items from lunch and dinner menus. I did notice that the menu seemed a bit smaller than Sfoglina’s. I (and the 2 other guys in the party) ordered the rigatoni with beef and pork bolognese and the two women both ordered the egg taglilioni with anduja butter. Everyone was quite happy with their food, although at $24 for each entree it was not exactly cheap but it was delicious!
One more thing to note is that the restaurant is incredibly noisy. It seemed like a throwback to the early 2010s where it appeared as if high-end restaurants tried to design their spaces with high ceilings and “bright” furniture to emphasize the verbal buzz of the diners. Generally I don’t think this is a great idea. Other than that, the food was great and I would go back to Centrolina to try their dinner menu.
Superb from start to finish. Service was on point and food was delicious. Went for lunch and sat at tables outside where it was quiet. Started with arugula salad followed by pasta with chickpeas and confit of duck. The mains were sublime. Lovely sparkling rose to wash it down. Finished off meal with trio of sorbets and cappuccino. No better way to spend a Friday afternoon following a visit to the museum.
Food was exquisite, the atmosphere was very good also... Need to pay attention to waiters recommending ONLY the most expensive items on the menu...
Food was fabulous in every way! Service was also first rate.
Saturday night was very busy and it is not for anyone looking for a quiet meal. Place was hopping. Having said that, the entire meal was amazing. Every dish we tried was better than the previous one. Try the Quail!
Food and service were wonderful! Will definitely be back!!
Great food and service. Even early on a Sunday dinner noise level was very high
Just amazing , love chef Amy
Interesting selection of food choices, all well prepared, and delicious. Excellent service. Noise level was high even though we were sitting away from main room.
It was a friends birthday. We purchased the most expensive bottle of white wine at the suggestion of our server. He was short at times (perhaps he was busy). At the end of the evening I assumed there would be something complimentary offered for my friends birthday-there wasn’t but the hostess told me that the restaurant usually does offer something but they didn’t.
The server never made us feel special even though we were celebrating a special occasion.
Ive been to every restaurant in City Center since they opened. I’ve gotten better service at a Chik-Fil-A. Not going to break the door down to get back to Centrolina nor will it be at the top of my suggested places to dine in the near future.
Maybe Ill revisit in The New Year and try my luck again.
Nice place to have a good Italian food and very well located in the heart of DC.
Absolutely delicious and a rare find to have something healthy and satisfying at lunch! Love love love the wildfire grilled fish selections with 2 veggies! Finally a restaurant that knows how we are Supposed to eat during the day! And the Verde salad is TDF (to die for).
A lovely splurge; great meal. Unfussy and relaxing.
Excellent experience. Food was great. Service was a bit slow, but the restaurant was very busy during our time there. Looking forward to returning.
Fantastic dinner, couldn't be more pleased with the creativity, taste and service. Octopus appetizer and squid pasta were both amazing and equally fantastic blueberry dessert. Lively and fun.
Fantastic as always. A go-to restaurant for great food and service in a festive atmosphere.
Food and service were perfection. Ambience could use some warmth.
Katherine was great as always. Food was excellent; verde salad followed by the duck breast. Delicious!
Wait 45 min after reservation to take order z.
The pasta and sides were great as usual but the surprise was my partners rib eye. DC has great chop houses but I never expected to get the best rib eye ever (and I’m fairly old) at Centrolina. It was simply, the best I’ve ever had.
Food was great, it (and drinks) just came out slow but they were quite busy. Server(s) were fantastic.
Once we were seated, the entire experience improved immensely. We arrived promptly at 5, only to be told that the desk had neither the reservation list (so we could not be seated) nor the menu available. We were seated close to 5:30, and, as we were visiting from out of town, would have preferred have more museum time and less standing around time. Once we were seated and received menus, our experience was fantastic.
Lovely dinner. A friend and i ended up splitting up each course. They were very helpful.
Excellent branzino. Attentive server. Beautiful setting outside. An excellent business lunch.
Delicious, beautifully served food. A casual ambiance (great for a Sunday night, but while it was exactly as we hoped, I wouldn't characterize the ambiance as romantic or luxuriously appointed.) It is LOUD. We have two people in our party sitting at the ends of the table who had difficulty hearing the conversation -- we were a table of 5 and people at the ends couldn't hear each other. The restaurant needs a noise noise deadening strategy -- panels, upholstered seats, etc.
For girls night and birthday celebration, our party of four was seated in a private room in the back of the restaurant. While it was nice for our small group, it did not afford much in the way of views. However we all enjoyed the scrumptious food and our server was outstanding.
