Centro Restaurant & Lounge Ratings and Reviews
We were staying at the Omni and decided to make reservations for our anniversary. Was disappointed the restaurant did not acknowledge our anniversary in anyway. We were pretty much the only couple in the restaurant for a good hour. Why ask when making reservations what the occasion was. A small piece of chocolate or something would have been nice. We could have make reservations at any number of restaurants in Providence, but made them at Centro.
Dining at Centro Providence was an amazing experience! The service was A-1 with our server Anna. She was funny yet professional, attentive and very helpful with suggestions as this was our first time eating here. We also met the General Manager Alex who was also pleasant. We dined on a Thursday night so it was quiet and had great ambiance. The food was AMAZING!!! I had the scallops and my mom had the Chicken Piccata. We also shared the calamari which had a twist with a sweet chili taste. Every last bite was eaten. Plates clean! Then I talked mom into a dessert and we agreed on the tiramisu (also great). Ever since that day, nothing else has tasted quite as good. Kudos to the chef! We'll be back for sure.

The very BEST part of the experience was the Valet Parking (and wow, that should speak volumes). Insanely slow and insipid service ... truly beyond ridiculous. When a party of four takes 2.5+ hours, you have clearly stumbled into some sort of Twilight Zone of Ineptitude. Food was uninspired and tired --- exacerbated by the timing being WAY off and several meals "resting" on the table while others we waiting to be served. Again, a party of FOUR people. We had to send two meals back to be re-heated ... and I am pretty sure they microwaved them to bring them back to temp (as they were veal and chicken and both came back rubbery). Quite simply ... an awful experience from super-slow start to lack-luster finish. I strongly urge EVERYONE to eat elsewhere ... anywhere else ... just not here. Ever. For any reason.
My wife & I stayed at the Omni for NYE and decided to have our pre-party dinner at Centro. We arrived early and were promptly seated. I ordered the NYE surf & turf special: 8 oz. filet w/ 2 jumbo grilled shrimp. Steak was perfectly cooked! Could've been salted a little more, but overall no complaints. My wife also got the filet and she enjoyed it as well. Waiter was very attentive and constantly refilled our water (we had gone to the gym prior to our meal, so we were thirsty!). Great start to our NYE celebration!
We were here for dinner (late lunch?) on Christmas Day. The prix fixe menu was exactly what would be expected for a Christmas dinner, and we both had the prime rib. We have no complaints about the restaurant for the price point. (Prix fixe was $40/person for 3 courses). Had it been more expensive than that, we would have thought that the food did not live up to the price.
Service was slow. After waiting a half hour for a waiter, then an hour for food, the soup was cold. Although they took the soup off the bill, there was not other attempt to right the experience. It was Christmas Day so I know help was tight. Would not recommend this restaurant.
This restaurant did not seem right when we entered, and everything was off. The food had no flavor. 1) The sausage pizza was not edible, like the crust had been pre-cooked then heated up and the white sauce was literally like flour paste; the olive oil for dipping bread was actually bitter or rancid, inedible; 3) the bolognese sauce was inedible, as of the meat had been made, frozen, reheated numerous times, and no flavor. It took 20 minutes to get bread and our appetizers came out after over 30 minutes. Our waitress knew we were unhappy and avoided us instead of addressing or offering to accommodate in any way. We left all our food on the table, which NEVER HAPPENS! My husband will eat almost anything and cannot stand to waste. This was inedible and i was sad about it because I had actually tried to find a great place and made the reservations ahead of time.
we went to the centro in part of celebrating my wife christines birthday. as guests at the Omni hotel we chose the dining option of the centro. from eric and jennifers. our servers were very attentive and pampered us. the food was awesome. also the manager Shannon was very attentive, cordial and professional. we were trated extra special by the staff. will definetly return.
The food was delicious and the waitstaff were very attentive. If there was a dirty fork or plate, it was immediately replaced without us ever having to ask, yet we didn't feel like the waiter was hovering. My husband and I absolutely loved the experience. The meal was pricey, but the excellent quality of both the service and the food made the cost completely worth it. We can't wait to go there again.
Took my wife out for her birthday and had great experience here. Was a quiet night since everyone was probably in south county. Andrew (bartender) very nice and very attentive. Had veal parmigiana although wasn't on menu and was one of the best veal parmigiana I've ever had! Beats Federal Hill! My wife had swordfish and she loved it! Good portions and presentation. Highly recommend!!
