Waitstaff very professional however grossly understaffed for a large conference center event. Chef should be given more than one panini press to accommodate a large crowd. Paninis overpriced for size given. On a good note, Caprese salad was wonderful and restuarant was beautiful.
The menu is very limited! I thought I knew what I wanted after looking at the menu online, only to get there and realize half the stuff wasn’t actually on the menu at the restaurant. They were very weird about making substitutions even though everything is supposedly made to order. However, the food I did end up getting was very tasty and came out nice and hot. They were great about water refills throughout the meal as well. For the prices, you don’t get much but the value was good to me since I had a Groupon. If it weren’t for that, I would’ve been disappointed with the value. The decor is very pretty but the ambiance suffered a bit because there were hardly any other customers dining! Not sure why...but overall a good meal.
We had passed by Centro many many times since it is in the hotel, but had never eaten here before and decided to come on Saturday night. To my surprise it wasn’t what I thought it would be. The ambiance was very nice. It had a nice bar area next to the dining area. Not a huge place but a nice layout. The menu was diverse and had many dishes to choose from. From appetizers and paninis to pizza and filet mignon. The service was excellent. The meals came out timely and were hot. The martini prices were a bit high I thought but were very good. Overall we had a great meal at Centro and would definitely come back again.
Nice and beautiful decor. Very clean and cozy restaurant. We had a hotel reservation at Omni Providence that night and drove from New York to Newport for mansions visit. I made reservation at this restaurant in advance at 7 pm since I don't know this area at all. We loved the food, the hotel room and free water bottle to go at reception. The food was amazing. We ordered fried calamari, beet and goat cheese salad to share as appetizers. Main dishes were salmon, roasted beef, scallops, and lobster ravioli for party of 4. The service was great, our waiter was very polite and tried to please our requests. The manager of restaurant made sure that we are comfortable and like the service, which is always a nice touch to newcomers.
We had lunch at Centro for a graduation celebration for a party of 6. The food was outstanding, service top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to visitors to downtown Providence.
Me and my friends had great night, and the food was delicious
Great food and service.
A perfect place for a meal before a show.
Went for a special occasion and was not disappointed . Service was outstanding and a few extras thrown in ( they provided us complimentary champagne) . Timing was great not rushed and attentive to where we were and when courses were best served. Dinner was well prepared and they accommodated some special requests - also got flourless chocolate cake for dessert - very good!
Paulo our server was very friendly and professional. The food was very good and the serving sizes were very generous. When we arrived at about 6 o’clock, the noise from the bar area was deafening. We considered leaving. We are glad we stayed. The noise Diminished about 20 minutes later (there apparently was a large group in there which left the premises together). Then again, the food was excellent. We will come back.
Food was barely edible. I would not recommend this as a dining choice.
Loved it and would go again without hesitation! Awesome Food Selection!
Nice service and menu
Very helpful to accommodate food allergies! They worked with us on the menu options and we will visit be back. Nice meal and easy location within Omni when visiting town. Special thanks to Patrice for her help with the menu!
As always, the food was excellent and the service was great!
Delicious meal, beautiful room, great service- couldn't ask for more on date night.
Food good. Waiter seemed like he was in training
There was a prix fixe menu for Christmas, $39.95 per person for three courses, including a vegetarian option. The service was professional amd courteous and not obtrusive. And, we weren’t rushed! The noise level is higher than we like, a pervasive problem with restaurants lately. However, is was not unbearable and we could hear each other and didn’t have to shout.
Very nice but the beer was warm and the service was a little slow. Food was just ok but atmosphere and server were very nice.
Celebrated my boyfriends birthday here with his family. The menu has food for any picky eater. The staff were very attentive, food was delicious. It can get pretty loud, but we didn’t mind it was perfect for us!
Great meal! The whole staff was great. Food was delicious. One of my coworkers is gluten free and they were very helpful with her meal. We all enjoyed 🙂
We had a family dinner for 7 that was delicious and managed to meet our varied dietary requirements! Gwen, our server, was excellent and rolled with a lot of requests. We had a great time and enjoyed all!
A better dessert menu . We went to another restaurant for dessert
We were staying at the Omni and decided to make reservations for our anniversary. Was disappointed the restaurant did not acknowledge our anniversary in anyway. We were pretty much the only couple in the restaurant for a good hour. Why ask when making reservations what the occasion was. A small piece of chocolate or something would have been nice. We could have make reservations at any number of restaurants in Providence, but made them at Centro.
Dining at Centro Providence was an amazing experience! The service was A-1 with our server Anna. She was funny yet professional, attentive and very helpful with suggestions as this was our first time eating here. We also met the General Manager Alex who was also pleasant. We dined on a Thursday night so it was quiet and had great ambiance. The food was AMAZING!!! I had the scallops and my mom had the Chicken Piccata. We also shared the calamari which had a twist with a sweet chili taste. Every last bite was eaten. Plates clean! Then I talked mom into a dessert and we agreed on the tiramisu (also great). Ever since that day, nothing else has tasted quite as good. Kudos to the chef! We'll be back for sure.
Great food great service, the only issue is you have to pay for parking
Clam chowder was too thick and tasted like it had been warmed up in a microwave oven. Drink was OK. Eggplant appetizer dish was delicious but dry and needed more tomato sauce.
Our server had all the graciousness of a prison matron. Calamari starter, shrimp penne and salmon all came in an oily bath. I'll stop there.
The service and food was great! Gwen is the best waitress.
Great spot for Mother's Day brunch. Our server was so bubbly and got us everything we needed with a smile. We'll be back!
Used a Groupon. Not worth full price.
The restaurant was nice but it had that typical hotel restaurant feel. The food was very good. The service was excellent. For what you get, it was on the expensive side.
Food was ok, but over priced. The service was slow. It was really loud in the restaurant. Nice to try, but we won't be back.
Went out to lunch with my girlfriend and was very impressed by the milkiness of their clam chowder as a starter. On the other hand, the meal was only sufficient but the prices were about what you would expect
Excellent restaurant have been a number of times and always have had a great meal and service only complaint was the Bolognese totally different than last time which I would have rated one of the best to Would not order again
Avoid Avoid Avoid Avoid.
The very BEST part of the experience was the Valet Parking (and wow, that should speak volumes). Insanely slow and insipid service ... truly beyond ridiculous. When a party of four takes 2.5+ hours, you have clearly stumbled into some sort of Twilight Zone of Ineptitude. Food was uninspired and tired --- exacerbated by the timing being WAY off and several meals "resting" on the table while others we waiting to be served. Again, a party of FOUR people. We had to send two meals back to be re-heated ... and I am pretty sure they microwaved them to bring them back to temp (as they were veal and chicken and both came back rubbery). Quite simply ... an awful experience from super-slow start to lack-luster finish. I strongly urge EVERYONE to eat elsewhere ... anywhere else ... just not here. Ever. For any reason.
Very good food. Overpriced, with entrees ~ 20s-30s.
Delicious food and friendly service. We really enjoyed our evening while staying at the hotel.
Beautiful place, excellent service, noise level was obnoxious. Table next to us full of drunks, one man contributing to the noise- I heard was the OWNER of this establishment. Very unprofessional. Got out of there quickly after that. Only complaint.
Great atmosphere, great service, Excellent food
