As a native New Yorker I thought it was about time to try the boathouse. The food was good as was the service; my cocktail was disappointing, though not more expensive than other local establishments. It was a cosmopolitan and wasn’t made properly with fresh lime juice. Overall it was an atmosphere that can’t easily be duplicated in New York City and was worth a one time dining experience.
The food was good though not quite as good as we were expecting but the service was great. The setting was very nice looking out over the lake.
We have a beautiful dinner, thanks for all your services, food was really good 😋
had not been to the Boat House for years. I was so good to be back and find to be as wonderful as always.
Amazing experience, highly recommended spot for any occasion!
Excellent food and drink. They were very generous with us, didn’t rush us out the door or try to turn over the table. No other view like it in the city.
The location cannot be beat - beautiful location in Central Park. The food was better than I expected for such a big tourist spot so we were happily surprised. We shared the burrata with asparagus and then had the halibut which was the special for the day, and it was delicious and my daughter had the roasted chicken -- portions were large, the chicken was enormous with way too much for lunch. Tables are close together and there were several large parties near us so the noise was a bit overpowering at times. Service was adequate. It was also a very warm day and the overhead fans were barely moving and did not offer much air movement - they are also spread far apart. I would return on a cooler day without a doubt just for the location alone.
Wonderful food and service in an iconic setting. Great place to relax when visiting Central Park.
A bit noisy, but very nice place.
Excellent food and service. Everyone friendly and helpful except the hostess at the entrance to the restaurant. She is the wrong person for that job. No smile. Not friendly and when we left restaurant she said nothing and made no eye contact.
Nice patio. Food was just okay except for the dessert. The cheesecake was amazing!
It was a hot day and it looked like the fan was on extra slow. I thought I saw some a/c units but no air. Had to cut visit short too too hot. Put some fans in to circulate air or at least a slight breeze🙄😡
Beautiful atmosphere but mediocre food and poor service.
Beautiful location and nice restaurant.
Was so excited to get there after A summer squall. we sat by a window that was able to be opened within the first half hour. It is so much better than I ever hoped for both my companion and I had a fabulous Fish and good homemade bread. Besides this, you are actually waited on. There were tablecloths and you feel like you are not being rushed stunning setting I will be booking again thank you for a lovely evening and for being a fixture in Manhattan.
Such a great experience all the way around from the boat ride to the table, service and food! Definitely will go again!
I had lunch at the Boathouse with friends whom I hadn’t seen in a year. It was the perfect setting for that. The room is lovely and the view of the lake was very picturesque. The food was fine and the service was excellent. The menu was more like dinner than lunch food and the prices were a bit high for lunch as well. The equivalent of a Cobb salad ( probably the lightest entree) was priced at well over $30. Nonetheless overall it was a very nice experience.
Everything about the dinner was wonderful. We enjoyed the ambiance, food and service. We took the shuttle back to Fifth Avenue.
Special way to enjoy delicious food and Central Park simultaneously!
Quintessential New York Dining!
I love the boathouse. Have been coming for years. We are moving away from NJ in 2 weeks so it was so perfect to make our last dinner in the city at the boathouse. The weather was perfect. The food was very good the service was very good and you can’t get a better view and a great walk in Central Park after a long lunch.
Also with good friends we will miss NYC and all of our friends.
Fantastic experience! Celebrated my parents' 51st wedding anniversary there and brought our young daughters ages 9 and 13 for their first visit. Food was delicious, service was excellent, and the ambience and views are incomparable. All ages enjoyed and felt comfortable. Tables were a tad close, but all else was great. Fully outdoor, covered seating so we felt safe. They also make great cocktails, bake 4 different kinds of fresh bread, and have a children's menu. Iconic, family friendly NYC spot to celebrate!
Excellent food, service and ambience.
Great job arranging tables with open windows/doors to accommodate CDC advisory. Food & Service is great, as always. Salads were fresh, bread is awesome. Thank you for coming back!
We had the last seating on Memorial weekend Saturday, walked through Central Park to and from the restaurant. It was a great experience, wonderful service, and not expensive.
We had a wonderful table for my daughters birthday weekend
Me and my husband had a fantastic time celebrating our five year wedding anniversary at the restaurant five years ago we got married in central park so we only felt it was appropriate for us to dine there to celebrate this new milestone thank you so much for making it such a special occasion
A lovely setting and an interesting (although not always successful) menu make this a quintessential New York City experience
Excellent food and service in delightful setting. Highly recommend
It was shockingly good. I did not go with high expectations but thought it would be a nice setting for an anniversary lunch. The food was great. I had the vegetarian option with asparagus and grains and my wife had the tuna nicoise. Both were plentiful, fresh, and beautifully presented. We shared the banana split for desert. Also, creative and delicious.
Bread basket was as good as any in NYC.
Service was good and pleasant and of course setting was unique.
Tried to get a reservation for Father's Day but astoundingly they do not take Reservations for FD.
Third meal since re-opened and each visit a joy. Natural beauty and wonderful servers make it to the top of the list. Hard to find lobster in risotto and portions way small (scallops) but tasty.
This was a wonderful lunch. The view of the lake was lovely. The service was excellent. The menu had a nice variety of choices. One of us had the seared tuna salad and the other had the cheeseburger.
This was our first time there and I'll definitely be going back. The crab cake alone was *chef's kisses!*
My husband and I had the most perfect evening. We eat out a lot, and generally don’t take the time to discuss how our meal, service, ambiance, etc… was. From the monk fish wrapped in bacon to the prom loincloth in sweet potato purée, along with excellent service from Margin and a spectacular view; it was sublime. Don’t put the word out. We want to make sure we can get a reservation to come back. Xcllnt!!!!0
Exeptional, beautiful vew, delicious food, great place for a romantic meal, business or family dinner
A wonderful setting with excellent food, and attentive service!
Excellent service, great food, amazing view. Perfect.
I felt a little rushed at first but our waiter and staff were such pros that I always felt taken care of and welcomed! The food was excellent!
I love this place! I could be anywhere in the world. Food and service are exquisite. I asked for a candle in my reservation and what a birthday dessert it was. HIghly recommend
You feel like the hustle of the city is a million miles away while dining overlooking the beautiful lake. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent.
