We were getting together with friends before a play. The restaurant was busy and extremely noisy. It was hard to carry on a conversation. We shared 2 appetizers, the charcuterie board which was ok and the escargots which were excellent. Two of us had the beef bourguignon, which I would not get again. The short ribs were not simmered long enough to cook off the burgundy wine taste and thus the meat was not very tender. The other entrees were ok, salmon and seared scallops although the side of Brussels sprouts were mushy. I almost forgot to mention the bread, hard as a hockey puck . I thought it could be day old bread put in the oven and reheated

We had a most enjoyable evening. There were seven of us so we got a table in the "private" area, which was great. The rest of the restaurant is somewhat noisy. Food was good, wine was good, ambiance and service were excellent.

We went to Central Bistro before a show at the Opera House. We arrived at 5:30 and it was fairly empty at that hour, but the show was at 7:00 and we wanted to leave plenty of time. Our server was very nice, but it took someone about 10-15 minutes to approach the table. Our friends had already gotten drinks at the bar, so it was over 20 minutes by the time we received ours.
Menu has a nice variety and they are flexible (I asked for risotto instead of quinoa on my dish). Plates had a nice variety of accompaniments and were well presented. We had the steak frites, the swordfish and the salmon. My only complaint is that my salmon was overdone. They asked how I wanted it and I asked for Medium, but it was just on the edge of being dry and overcooked.
Overall, we enjoyed the Central Bistro and we'll give it another try in the future.

Four friends met for lunch here. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive but not too much. They let us sit and chat afterward and never rushed us. We all had various sandwiches which were very good with home made chips and apple coleslaw. The room was cozy with a nice view one level about the street. I highly recommend as a lunch meeting place.

Excellent service, food, and ambiance. I went for dinner before a show and there was plenty of seating. The only thing that bothered me [and this is common to a lot of restaurants] was the low -low amount of salt in the preparation.

The upstairs setting in an office building is a bit hard to find, especially as the address is given on Arch Street and that door has a sign on it directing you around the corner to another entrance on Summer Street. As a first time diner here, found that a bit odd.
The food was great and the server attentive and friendly. The noise level in the far dining room is quite high as the room is tiled in white subway tile and our group of only three had a hard time hearing each other. As the room was full at lunch time, the noise bounced off the tile walls and echoed, making for difficult conversation. None of us is hard of hearing or elderly. All in all great but too noisy. Would request a table in the front near the rest rooms and bar which seemed quieter if you want a less noisy experience.

As usual the food at Central Bistro was tasty! Because it was Friday night it was a bit noisy near the bar, and the service was slower than usual. But overall we had a great time.

Central Bistro has become our neighborhood go to place. They are very accommodating when asked for special seating. The menu is varied and offers me the more complex French food I enjoy while serving up great sandwiches and fries that suit his style. The management and waitstaff are friendly and helpful. While a busy place it doesn’t seem to get as crowded and loud as some others in the area. The dining room is comfortable and nicely decorated. The large windows provide nice light and an urban view.

I chose Central Bistro based on the Open Table reviews and I was not at all disappointed. It’s an unassuming place that you enter through an office building but the food was great, the service was good, and the decor was very welcoming. We got the house made ricotta (absolutely delicious), the fried mushroom salad, and the chicken cordon blu. Definitely coming here again!

Some coworkers and I met here for dinner in the early evening on a weekday. The menu looked promising, but reality was not so great. Appetizers were strangely seasoned and in one case, overcooked. The entrees had little to no seasoning. It was my first time here, so this may have been a blip, but I am not likely to make a return visit unless it's only for drinks.

I have been to Central Bistro on a few different occasions. Always a go to for catching up with friends in a relaxed atmosphere or a serious business dinner. Staff is patient when we are a ways in to seating and still haven't looked at the menu as we are all talking. Will come back here again and again.

A lovely setting for lunch, meeting old (former) work colleagues. We all got salads, all were very good. No liquor or wine at this meal. Bread was nice; our order of frites got lost in the shuffle. Otherwise a very pleasant meal. You think you're actually in a bistro instead across the street from Macy's.

There is a problem with consistency. I had the fig and ricotta a few weeks ago and the 'toast' was perfectly browned and crunchy. Yesterday I ordered the same thing and there were fewer pieces and only slightly browned. It was still good, but I had the first time in my head.

Lunch appointment turned into beat the clock. Could not find server 30 minutes after placing order. Finally, 40 minutes later, meals arrive not properly....Salads without any dressing. 40 mi items later....Server not to be found. Terribly disappointing. Would not recommend. Previously fined there frequently. Would not go again.

Well, I was looking forward to this one as I am french & convinced my team to book monthly lunch there. Boy, did I pull the shirt straw. I picked the mussels with friends and my first mussel was bad, so I tried another. It was good, but I realized I had lost faith. You can mess with see food. I ordered a veggie soup after that. It was ok & fries were good. They don't have traditional non alcoholic drinks like Diabolo, though.

The ambiance is very pleasant here and the restaurant is near the theater district. The food was good. We had dinner on a Tuesday evening so it wasn't crowded at all. In fact it was a little empty as the evening went on. We were offered a choice of booth or a table by the windows looking over the activity of summer street in front of Macy's We sat in a very comfortable semi-circular booth. The bar behind us was very busy when we first arrived at 6:30. The booth was useful for our business discussion. the food was very good. The only comment I would make is that the server seemed anxious to hurry us along even though the place was almost empty. There were one or two tables still occupied when we left around 8:30. Maybe they are used to a theater crowd in the evening which is intent on making the start of an event.

I’ve been many times and always enjoy it. Service can be slow, so count on an additional amount of time if you’re in a hurry. (The table behind us was there for 10 minutes with no service at all until a diner got up and found someone.) My top layer of mussels were quite cold and the others warm, but I didn’t have time to send them back. I told the waiter when we got the check, but he didn’t really seem bothered by it. My friend’s eggs Benedict were great!

Our first visit to Central Bistro. Good food, excellent service, attractive surroundings. Only down side (we're older, pre-theater) was the very loud noise coming from the bar. For someone looking for a lively bar scene, this would be a great choice. We would certainly go back, but would try to time it better.
