Very good service and great food!
Food was delicious and service was good. Our server wasn't around very frequently but other staff members came by our table to cash us out, box our food, and see if we needed anything, which was very helpful.
Service was very slow during the pre-theater rush. Our server had asked us if we were attending that night's show at Overture, and when we told her no, I felt like we were not a priority. We attempted to flag her down several times to put in our dinner order.
Dining at Cento is still a pleasurable experience - it's a beautiful place with great food.
The food is great, service is attentive, and staff is friendly. Their only shortcoming is the noise level when business is good.
Good dinner, not spectacular. Nice ambiance.
Service was terrible. Our waitress was servicing at least four other tables, AND "hostessing." Meanwhile there were other waiters sauntering around doing very little. Will avoid that place for awhile.
Everything was great, from the wine to the sides. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. I have no complaints.
Great meal & wine. You never walk away hungry.
Nick was a wonderful server. Food was amazing, only watch out is the salmon schmear has a lot of bones in it.
Had the best Chobani Oats latte!
Food was pretty good, first time trying. I may or may not be back. Fried artichokes were delicious!
Cento is one of my favorites to take my daughter who is a student at UW....excellent location, service, menu and ambience....good wine list as well
Met friends there for lunch. Very loud but as expected. Clean, goo food choices, good service would go again parking is a challenge on a Saturday afternoon.
Have been to Cento a few times and love it. Great food, wonderful friendly servers (Jack was the best!). Kevin the sommelier helped pick out a great wine and we had another fun experience here!
We were there for a pre-theater dinner. The service and food were excellent. The only negative is the noise level, which was very loud. When I spend that much for dinner, I would like to have an environment more conducive to having a conversation without shouting. (This is hard to find in Madison.)
Food was quite good. Ambience very nice also. Mixed drink was so so.
The hostess was not friendly. The waitress was great. I’m we enjoyed the meal but not as good as past times.
My husband and I dined at Cento last night. Our server Grace was wonderful and attentive. She provided great menu recommendations. When we were unsure on a bottle of wine she had the wine steward visit our table to make a suggestion. The wine steward Kevin was wonderful. We explained the type of wine we usually like to drink and he made an excellent recommendation. We will definitely return to Cento as we really enjoyed our experience.
Good place for a nice, reasonably priced meal. The tables directly across from the stairs (two, two tops) are in an awful location. They should be removed.
We love Cento, especially when we have tickets to Overture events. Food is great, service outstanding. I recommend Cento highly!
Waitress was very good and the whole experience was great.
We enjoy and fabulous dinner at Cento before every broadway show. Staff is great, drinks are amazing and food is fabulous. I like that the menu and changed frequently, but the popular ones are always available.
Arrived early for a 5:30 reservation after a Sunday symphony matinee and were promptly seated. However, service was very slow from the get go, almost as if there weren’t enough servers on duty. Curious, because I overheard the hostess state they were booked solid until 8pm. Never got better, although our server was helpful, polite, and quite friendly. The food was good, but my lasagna was served barely warm and we all waited 5 minutes for my wife’s scallops to show up. This evens to happen a lot at restaurants that use teams of staff to bring out the food. And woe is you! if you table orders something premise (lasagna) and something cooked to order (scallops). Why is it so hard to time the food to arrive at the same time and all hot? Then the server was unable to process my Open Table Rewards Certificate. Frankly, I put it all on management.
Other than being a really big guy stuck in a corner with a small table, I was very pleased with experience and the food. I will definitely go again.
Noise level is the biggest problem with your otherwise excellent restaurant. Spend your money on sound proofing and you won't regret it.
The food was very good as usual. Service not so good.
The food was amazing and the waitstaff were GREAT! Especially since it was a busy Valentine's weekend! My husband and I were both very pleased.
Our food was delicious and our service was great.
Went for brunch - service was very slow altough not very busy while we were there. Food was good- nice ingredients and execution. We would patiently come back.
We went there to celebrate a birthday. Great server and variety of food choices. One persons meal (the salami hash) was pretty salty. Overall everything else was nice.
The service was great, the clam appetizer was luke warm at best.... it was valentines day so I think they may have premade them and just didn't heat them up enough. Also they were really dry from sitting. My main pasta dish lacked flavor, but when I added red pepper, pepper and Parmesan cheese it tasted great. Service was GREAT!
Cento never disappoints with their food. This time around, I enjoyed the Chicken Parmigiana with an Aperol Spritz. We also ordered the bread to start and the tiramisu to finish. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great Italian dinner in Madison.
Great experience. Our server, Ava, was friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was wonderful especially the Roman artichokes. The house made limoncello is a must as well.
We had a party of nine at Cento on Valentine's Day, everyone was in Madison from out of town for a family wedding, and we could not have been happier with our experience at this restaurant. The staff was extremely patient with our party and the food was delicious. I selected this restaurant because it was one of the few I could find a couple of weeks out that could accommodate a large party on Valentine's Day. Everyone in our party was very impressed by the service, and the outstanding food. Will definitely go back next time we are in Madison, and will recommend to others!
Food was overthought. A little too ambitious. Would keep to simple choices on the menuOur waiter was overzealous but well intentioned.
Food and service are always wonderful --and the location across from the Overture center is perfect.
We always enjoy the food at Cento, but we do find that the noise level is unpleasant to us. You can hardly hear the person across the table.
An excellent brunch with really tasty selections and delicious sides. The service is always exceptional and we are NEVER disappointed!
The staff was friendly and was able to add the seating that was missing from our table before all of the guests arrived.
We were a bit disappointed that the cocktails we ordered were missing some ingredients, we weren't informed they had run out when we ordered and the drinks were delivered without explanation until we inquired.
Overall very good though, I love the ambiance and there was no extra long waits for anything.
