A wonderful brunch! Loved the corned beef and egg sandwich, and there are still other things I want to come back and try!
Fantastic food and service.
I’ve been to Cento several times and the food has been delicious on each visit. The servers are knowledgeable and professional without being uptight and the food quality and taste is consistently high. The tagliatelle dish is so flavorful and rich that I’ve ordered it on multiple visits.
We had a delicious birthday dinner for my husband. And our server was excellent!
Good service, nice food. Portions were a bit small, but when we stated that opinion we were granted a little extra. Birthday cake was complimentary, which was very nice. Looking forward to trying the late night menu.
Amazing anniversary dinner out! The food was beyond amazing and service great too!
My husband and I had brunch yesterday and were disappointed with the food. He had the baked eggs while I had the frittata with potatoes and the sausage as a side. I had to return the potatoes because they were cold and both my husband and I found the dishes to be bland. We don’t expect to return for brunch again following our experience

We have dined here 3-4 times and it has always been very good. Food, service and ambiance are what you would expect for an upscale restaurant.
While the restaurant was attractive, the noise level was very high making conversation difficult. Our server was very inattentive but the food was tasty. Would not go back.
Fabulous dinner for 6 at Cento.
Chef Myers sent ‘one of a kind’ hors d’oeuvres to our table and created a ‘simple ingredients’ dessert for a companion with dietary restrictions.
Wonderful meal and experience! Would definitely go over and over and over!!!
The brick chicken I had was tasteless.
The waitress didn’t offer a second round of drinks.
The waitress never checked on how our food was.
The service was outstanding! We checked the menu online but did not really research the restaurant. It was BEAUTIFUL - totally beyond expectations. Our server was funny, welcoming and knowledgeable without being intrusive, and though we were terribly underdressed for the restaurant, we were not made to feel unwelcome. And the food was delicious.
Delicious food! Waitress was terrific. Misheard our appetizer order but accommodated us immediately to make it right... definitely will visit again!
Host stand personnel were rude. Waitress was amazingly accommodating. Food was mediocre at best. Will not return.
Great pasta. Roman style fried artichokes phenomenal.
One pasta meat dish had bones in it. The carbonara has way too much pepper in it. Food was disappointing although meatball appetizer was very good.
Cento was amazing! We went here for my fiance’s birthday and it was perfect. Waitress explained dishes to us, service was quick, and a wonderful ambience. We will definitely be going back!
Cento is the best Italian restaurant in Madison. It is high-end but quite reasonably priced. It is easy to compose a meal that you are hungry for because there are many small and large options and the serving sizes are reasonable rather than too large. The pastas are all made in the restaurant and are delicious. We enjoyed the fettucine and the pappardelle. As an after dinner drink, try one of the Amari, which are Italian bitters, on the rocks. Be sure to make reservations because Cento is much in demand!
We've had several great experiences at Cento; the last two have not been so great. We were grateful to be seated in the top room of the restaurant next to a window which is a very quiet location. Server took awhile to get to us, and we ordered both our drinks and entree at the same time. Mistake. Entrees arrived BEFORE drinks; we sent them back and requested new entrees be made as we weren't sure when our drinks were going to arrive and wanted time to enjoy them. Also had to ask server for bread when our drinks were finally delivered. Shrimp scampi is my go-to entree here; it is listed on the menu online, but it was not on the menu last night. The kitchen was willing to make it for me - FABULOUS. But, for some reason, they added fresh peas which didn't taste bad but wasn't what I wanted. Wine prices are high for the quality and amount, and, as I have suggested before, if you are only going to pour 3 oz. of wine, a smaller glass would be appropriate since the rule for pouring wine is to pour to the widest part of the glass. Dessert - $9 for about six small bites of cake. I wish I had taken a photo; the piece was about 3 1/2 x 2" at most. We give the server credit; she owned up to the poor service being her fault and offered to send the manager over. She also was very sweet so we passed on complaining to the manager. Our drinks did get comped which was appreciated and appropriate. With a glass of wine and cocktail ($20), two entrees, one dessert the tab was about $70 before gratuity. I don't think our evening was worth that.
Second time at Cento - enjoyed dinner here a year ago and once again tonight!! See you next year when back for an area conference!!
We have been here a few times over the last few years and find the food is generally good but our meals this past visit were not up to par. The wait staff was friendly but service was incredibly slow. Reservations for 5:30. Our meal wasn’t served until 7pm. We had tickets to the Overture at 7:30 so we felt very rushed. Staff knew we were going to the show. Wine price was very high. $16 per glass is unreasonable. We are taking this restaurant off our list.
Yet another fantastic meal at CENTO. The scallops were out of this world delicious and the brick chicken is always a favorite. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to Chef Chris and the entire staff of CENTO for making our anniversary so memorable!
Excellent food, presentation. Timely and considerate service.
Went to celebrate a couple on a pregnancy and birthday and had a wonderful time! Staff were polite, fun, and helpful.
The duck special was a welcome change and really really good. Our server was very good and attentive and the sommelier recommended a good barolo. I do wish that they would switch up the butcher board with different cheeses and meats from time to time add maybe some preserves and do honey comb instead of honey in a bowl maybe crostini for texture along with the soft bread, but that's just me being picky.
I loved the food, the ambiance, and the choices available. My husband and I were both impressed with our meals.
Great food and service!
Our party of 5 had a wonderful experience at Cento. Food and drinks were delicious, and service was lively and attentive.
We went to Cento to celebrate my wife's birthday. Dinner was outstanding, staff very attentive and ambience great. I made our reservations on-line and had no problems at all. Definitely a great evening!
Great food, decent atmosphere. The music choice was a little odd for a dinner date (upbeat jazz at a classy Italian place), but overall it was a good experience. Service was wonderful and not overwhelming and the food tasted excellent.
I'd go again, but next time I'd pick the main dining area over the backroom as the view leaves something to be desired (unless you enjoy watching dudes get kicked out of the library).
Took some work associates for out for dinner. Drinks, appetizers and meal were all delicious.
The food is excellent and the service is good. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is very inviting.
Great food and service! Will be back
We wanted to show our son (who attended Uw-Madison and already knows how fabulous Madison is 🤗) and his girlfriend from Florida a wonderful downtown dinner. We were wildly successful! Incredible food...so unique, exceptional service, creative libations and a warm, inviting atmosphere. We will be back!
We love Cento!
We felt welcomed from the beginning. The wait staff was very attentive. The menu and everything on it was to die for. Their signature cocktail selection was awesome.
Overall the food and drinks were very good.
Service was slow
Much better dining than a year back!
We loved menu and quality of food. Husband is hearing impaired so side room in corner was perfect.
