Center Cut at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino Ratings and Reviews
It has become an annual tradition to have dinner at Center Cut for our wedding anniversary. (We also go there for other occasions, like birthdays, and whenever we want a really good steak.) We have become good friends with server/bartender extraordinaire, Kyle Fix. He always takes good care of us, and this visit was no exception. Best steaks for miles around. Great alternative to places like St. Elmo's, and it's practically in my back yard. Really happy to have this great establishment this close to home.
Nice place but the smell of smoke from the casino almost counters all of the benefits. Usually we are seated in the back of the restaurant and the smoke isn't a problem, but since it was a slow Monday we were seated just a few feet into the restaurant and the stench spoiled the night.
Celebrating a college graduation and couldn't have been more pleased with the service, ambience, drinks, and food. Steaks were expertly prepared, as were the lamb chops and scallops. 1 side dish can feed 2-3 people. I have been here a couple times and when you step off the casino floor into the restaurant you leave the hustle and bustle of the gaming area behind for a really high end dining experience.
We come to the restaurant often and most generally it is outstanding. There have been a few occasions where maybe it was off a bit. Anytime the experience is less than perfect, Eric the manager, ALWAYS handles it appropriately.
We feel that this the best Steakhouse in Central Indiana. We’ve been to the other overrated spots and were mainly unimpressed.
Brandy is the most amazing and professional server we have ever had and is one of he reasons we continue to visit at least twice a month. She will always remember your drink and meal preferences and works hard to ensure we always have an enjoyable experience.
Try it and you will see. Ask for Brandy.

My wife and I Arrived at 7pm had reservations, were seated immediately. Prompt service ordered drinks our server was prompt and attentive. I ordered the shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and it was superb. I had the signature NY Strip and my wife had the filet. Both were very good. We had the creme brulee for desert and it was excellent.
The pork chop and ribeye were large and cooked to perfection. The chicken livers appetizer were great as always. The fish chowder was very good and was served differently than I've seen before which added ambience to the meal. Christina the waitress is excellent and we always ask for her when we eat at this restaurant.
The restaurant is a nice place to eat in an area where most of the restaurants are casual dining. One major issue I had was walkin through the smoky casino to get to the restaurant. It reminded me of the old days of flying where you had to walk through the smoking section to get to the bathroom. The food was okay. My King Salmon was a touch undercooked. My wife and son had crab legs that were great.
Overall, I thought the restaurant was good but somewhat expensive for what you get.
Crab goat cheese fondue was pretty good. I recommend this. Sliders and fries...cold. Flavor was fine but “pickles” tasted like plain cucumbers. I would not order again. Lobster bisque was good at first but then started to separate (weird?) after a few minutes. I would not order again. The lobster in it was over cooked but nice sized piece of claw meat. I hate when food comes out cold. My wife would not let me say anything even though I just wanted mine heated up, not a new dish. Her coffee crusted steak was fine but again it was not warm/hot. It was on top of cold polenta as well. The waiter did not ask how everything was so we did not say anything. It kind of stinks to drop $125 on dinner and just be “okay” but it happens.
After wading thru the smoke filled casino, I was worried that this may not be a good idea. Once we got into the restaurant the smoke subsided and we started to get our appetites back. We started with the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp was a little mushy at $4 per shrimp and I could taste some grit. My wife had the 10oz fillet and I had the 20os bone in ribeye. Both were ordered medium. The fillet was so undercooked it was purple in the center. My wife sent it back after just cutting into it. when server asked how my steak was and although it didn't have any flavor, I told her it was OK. She sensed something wasn't OK so I told her it had no flavor. She took it back also. 12 or so minutes later my wife's fillet returned. The good news it, it was now medium but the blue cheese topping was now burned. The ribeye returned and was somewhat more flavorful. All in all a good $70 meal. Not a good $150 meal. However they did give us a free piece of cake that we took home to the daughter. Lessons learned. Next time drive to Indianapolis and get good steaks.
WE HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS RESTAURANT MANY TIMES BUT WOULDN'T AGAIN AFTER OUR LATEST DINNER.
StEAKS WERE OVER DONE AND VERY DRY. NOT UP TO THEIR USUAL STANDARDS AT ALL. I DIDN'T FINISH MINE.
WE HOPE IT WAS JUST A BAD NIGHT IN THE KITCHEN BECAUSE THIS HAS BEEN A FAVORITE FOR A LONG TIME.
The food and service are excellent. Coming in through the Casino is a bit rough as the smoking and smell of smoke can ruin the ambiance, but once you enter the restaurant all of that is quickly forgotten. The place is great, you no longer smell the casino and the atmosphere is very good.
Service was good, but normally it is outstanding. One in our party ordered Lobster Bisque and the waiter FORGOT to put in the order. One ordered Oysters Rockefeller and it came as ordered. Our food main course came before we had finished our salads. I felt as though we were being rushed. The food is great and we will return, but I was a little disappointed with the service this night.
All our special occasions are celebrated here. The last two weekend dining was here. One for birthday and the 2nd for anniversary. The steaks are the best around. The service is great! The only draw back is it's in the casino and if your a non smoker you will have to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the restaurant, but once inside the restaurant you can not smell the smoke. Very elegant setting inside. I would highly recomend.
Waitress was good could of been a little better at keeping up with tea and water refills other wise loved it dessert was great they added 2 candles to my moms cake for her birthday great noise level didn't have to shout could here everyone would recommend to everyone
