Cellini’s culinary style of chic simplicity produces a menu of astounding freshness and creativity. We began with a masterful rendition of cornmeal polenta wedges with masses of slivered shitake mushrooms and a calamari salad garnished with beans and scallions, each set off with a hot, homemade foccacia, augmented with sliced crusty Tuscan bread. We next chose panzotti-supple half moon pasta filled with fresh, crisp vegetables lightly bathed in a delicate porcini mushroom sauce. A unique tubular pasta stuffed with the freshest fish and spinach under a seasoned fish stock was enough to show us that each dish here has its own personality, and is densely concentrated with flavor.

Cellini Ratings and Reviews
The food was amazing but, the table location was awful. Smack in the middle of an already narrow dinning room. Was a Sunday night not overwhelming busy so why the service was so slow I'm not sure. Would have to think twice about a return visit even though our meals were really good.
Went for carbs before the marathon- It was perfect for a our party of 4 people . I would say the main dinging room at Cellini is "cozy" and relatively tight. All the food we tried was excellent- the baked clams were fabulous. The service was truly outstanding.
We hosted a friend from London for dinner, and she was thoroughly impressed. She had the white salad and the veal piccata, I believe. She claimed it was the best veal she had ever had,
which is quite a statement considering her world travels. We love the food and the amiable staff.
Have been to Cellini for business dinners in the past, but took my wife this time as we were spending a weekend in NYC and were looking for good Italian food. Cellini is always consistent and in over a dozen visits, I have never had a bad meal. Service is always excellent, prices are reasonable for NYC including bottles of wine, and food is excellent. My pounded swordfish was done to perfection, as was my wife's chicken dish. No room for dessert this time. I have recommended Cellini to friends when visiting NYC and they have always provided positive feedback. Also nice that it's a bit less crowded and noisy on weekends, so a great choice for a Saturday or Sunday evening dinner.
I booked a table and asked for a high chair in my booking, but they did not have the high chair for me when I arrived. It was for my daughter's birthday. 2 hours before my scheduled time, I went to Cellini and left my cake there. They knew that it was for a birthday celebration for my daughter and they saw my daughter in the stroller. And again, they gave all three of their high chairs to another customer and left none for us. This is the worst birthday experience: having a booking and left a cake but ending up having to look for some place else last minute.
Ate here as a business meal while in town for one night - it was just what my colleague and I were in the mood for - some delicious Italian comfort food. The wine list was also very good and had some great wines at a reasonable price. Waiter was friendly and welcoming, would definitely return.
We were not pleased by the fact that they charged us $10 for a dessert we never even ordered AND they tacked on an 18% service charge to the total bill. I thought tipping is supposed to be at the customer's discretion?! We were only a table of 2 people, not some large group!
I had a very good and enjoyable dinner at Cellini. The food for the most part was excellent with some slight misses which were still very good but not as quite as excellent as the best of what they served. (So food ranking should be 4.5.) Service was attentive and gracious, while relaxed and totally non-pretentious. The environment was likewise relaxed and friendly, even though it is in a rather formal neighborhood. So I am more than happy to recommend Cellini for an enjoyable evening.
