Was delicious! Will go again!! Especially loved tgve ground beef tacos!! Rice and beans delicious too!
We had a great experience for being a big group of 15 and our waitress Monica was amazing. She was super sweet, polite and take care of all of us =) with all our needs, adjustments and managed to do 5 separate bills which we are still very appreciated.
The food was delicious, energetic ambiance, friendly staff, didn't charge a cake fee and we can't wait to go back. Thank you!
Good wait service considering the bartender did the work of probably 3 people at a crowded time for lunch!!
Overall the restaurant was great. I think the service could have been a bit better as we had to ask for Water each time. But don't let that deter you from going. It was really good.
A bit better than avg Mexican food. Out server was great.
Celia's is normally our go-to place for Mexican food when visiting family in Palo Alto. We've been going to Celia's for years, but will probably look for other options in the future. The food was mediocre at best.
This place was really good but we did wish that the guac was made fresh.
Only thing missing was some really good verde salsa for the chips! I wish they had a few more vegetarian entrees but what we had was very good!
I have been going to Celia's for years. We were seated outside and the server never came. I went inside to ask for water and they said, "sorry we are busy" I asked them if we should just leave. After it still taking forever, just to get water, chips and salsa, we got up and left. They seemed surprised.
Good Mexican food with great taste. Salsa good but would prefer hotter option. Service outstanding and portions large. We can't wait to try other dishes.
I made this reservation on Cinco de Mayo to celebrate a May 5th birthday in our family - knowing that without a reservation there would be a long wait. But when we got there, Celia's said they don't take reservations on Cinco de Mayo. So I am disappointed that OpenTable gave me this option that Celia's wasn't prepared to honor. The wait wasn't terribly long, considering the holiday, but the OpenTable reservation was useless.
Celia's staff was super helpful and on point! It was so nice to have a very professional staff that was so accommodating with our large party of 11, food was delicious and everything went smooth
Good food and service !
The time was a late lunch. Celia's was not at all busy.
Love Celia's (the chain) in general but this location needs to be condemned and re-built. Honestly the facilities are close to disgusting and the bathrooms atrocious. Sorry Celia's I certainly will not be back and would not recommend this location to anyone.
Nothing great bout this place. Food was average. Margaritas tasted like they were from a mix.
We were a group of 7 on a Saturday night, so they may do better at other times. The food was very average. It took forever for them to serve five of us and the other two had to wait another five minutes. Dinner, when served, was cold. We didn't see the waiter again until I went downstairs and asked for the check.
I ordered the three tostadas plate which was 80% lettuce and served cold. I would also swear there was no tequila in the margaritas. :(.
Great food, great service & great price! Get the bean dip & chips appetizer-very good!
Even though we had a large party, the service here was friendly and efficient. The portions of food are enormous, and the menu is very typical Mexican/American food.
I was surprised how large the restaurant was and with an outside patio. Parking is tight but food and margaritas are excellent
We really liked our meals and the waitress and staff could not have been more attentive and efficient.
Kind and understanding wait staff
Overall a good place to take a large group of business associates for a casual business meal. Traditional Mexican food and large portions. Service although nice was extremely slow. Table wasn't ready when we showed up as a group of 10 and it took 20mins to get a menu and have a server come to take our drink order. We also waited a long time to get our drinks. Otherwise a good experience.
Good bar service. Seems very friendly. Beware car parking, try and find a spot just before or after on a side street is nothing on El Camino.
Celia's is a classic. From the margaritas to the burritos all Mexican dishes you have come to love are here. I had the deluxe tostada and was able to ask for black beans instead of mashed pintos. My margarita was delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. I will be going back when I next eat Mexican. Thank you.
This is always reliable for Mexican food. The music was quite loud on this occasion! And, surprisingly, there were not many diners for lunch.
We had a great experience. Our table was ready on time, server was very catering and on it =), food was delicious and the live Mariachi music was a nice and fun touch.
mother's Day lunch
The service was great - very friendly. The food was very average with one exception the chips were really delicious.
So, it was my first time visit here at this location, I was just going for an afternoon ride taking my
93 yr. old mom out.
I have to tell you, the service was just wonderful, the best of all of the locations that I have been too. We will be going back again!
Met a friend in town for dinner. Waited at the front to be seated for quite a while (with a reservation which we were on time for). Finally seated, waiting about 5 minutes for anyone to come. Took drink order, brought half the drinks. Asked for napkins (for the chips and salsa) and the waiter didn't come back for 20 minutes (after flagging someone else down).
Seemed like an off night... but the food was good once it came. The 'cheese dip' left a little to be desired.
Excellent food and amazingly cool service staff. Easily accommodated a large party of 16 without missing a beat.
Although I've been to Celias a long time ago I was pleasantly surprised how good it was! The menu is extensive, the quality was great, and the ambiance is fun! The margaritas were very tasty too with just right amount of tequila:)
We were quite impressed on our first visit to Celia's. We will be going back.
Fresh food, warm atmosphere, nice people. Loved it!
Somewhere in between forgettable Tex-Mex and the wonderful food of Sonora in Tucson and southern Arizona, one tends to find Bay Area Mexican restaurants. Celia's is one of our favorites. The menu is diverse, including the more traditional meals of northern Mexico, as well as interior and coastal dishes. The staff is very friendly, and the Top Shelf margarita is very good.
I've been eating at Celia's Restaurants in each of their many Bay Area locations (Daly City, San Bruno, Millbrae, Palo Alto) for many years now and probably always will. The dishes are reliably superb, as is the atmosphere and service. The Hernandez family has created a warm and inviting chain and as far as I know most of the "kids" all work one or another, so you know there's a pedal to the metal in KEEPING the locations' top-notch! I nearly always have my favorite entree, Pollo En Crema (a lovely variation of Chicken Stroganoff, with a decidedly Mexican twist). The dishes are plentiful and quite reasonably priced and I always try to keep up on the "kids" whenever I visit a location. GO GO GO and be prepared for a real treat!
Fun for groups! Great Margaritas & Food was delicious!!
Look, this isn't fine dining - but I give it 5 stars because it is reliable, delicious Mexican fare that I enjoy and crave. The guacamole is perfectly made, the chips perfectly salted and the enchilada sauce always on point. I'm picky about leftovers, but always enjoy my Celia's next day, too. Try the Tijuana Taco Salad for the perfect blend of gluttony (refried beans, meat and cheese) and freshness (salad of lettuce and tomato).
Great for casual dining. Family friendly. Good fun
We celebrated a graduation here with a large group and the service was great! Very helpful and accommodating - even to the point of bringing out a ladder when our helium balloon went into the rafters :) Food was good too and covered porch was great for our group celebration...
