Celestino's was a great experience. The food was good and service pretty good. For the smaller space, tables were crowded, so too loud environment. Maybe ambiance would be better at night, if seating was less crowded.

For Mother's Day, we had our dinner at Celestino outside on a perfect evening for dining Al Fresco. Although there was not a Mother's Day specific menu, we ordered mostly pasta, as my grandson loves noodles. I did have the lamb, which was moderately priced and served with a nice demi-glaze and vegetables. We did bring our own cakes, so we were all full for the evening.

Three out of five stars seems like it undervalues Celestinos but my experience was "good" rather than "very good." I had the proscuitto di parma appetizer and the melon was just very under ripe and not sweet. My truffle gnocchi was quite expensive but not the best I've ever had. The mushroom risotto had tasted more like the broth they cooked it in rather than mushroom. It was very expensive for the experience I thought.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been to Celestino’s. Now I remember why. They have a nice menu but something is missing. We got there at five before anyone really showed. Waiter was talking a thousand words per minute and was getting a bit bothered as I was trying to slow him down so that I could understand all their specials and there were quite a few. We ordered soup and whole branzino each. I had mushroom soup which was delish. My friend had their artichoke soup. She liked it. The bread served with the meal was delicious. Brazino was served with the wrong side of veggies. The fish sat there for awhile while the waiter went back to get the right side and by the time we were eating it, it was lukewarm. To be honest, I prepare a better branzino at home. It was ok but nothing exciting. We were never asked to have our water refilled the entire time we sat there. The bus boy kept trying to take away our plates without asking if we were done. When I stopped him for the second time, our table was totally ignored. I preferred coffee after the meal and couldn’t drink it. The cream that I poured in curdled and the coffee itself was strong and tasteless. The waiter didn’t even notice that it wasn’t touched. It’s an ok place but we have so many wonderful restaurants in Pasadena that the likelihood of me coming back is minimal.
