Celestino’s is one of my favorites. Great food, a pleasant environment and solid value make Celestino’s hard to beat.
Great night the service was exceptional the food was truly delicious
Always special! Best waiters in the business! The owner is exceptional and has built an excellent reputation!
Loved it. Wish I had skipped breakfast and lunch to make more room for dinner.
The food was excellent and the service was polite and professional.
Although it was fairly empty we were seated at a back table next to a private party room where waiters and guests were constantly going in and out. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer but before we could even take two bites of it the main courses came out so it went to waste. The roasted half chicken was so small and bony there was barely anything to eat and it came with the smallest portion of spinach. It was a birthday celebration which we said as we were seated yet the dessert didn't even come with a candle. Needless to say I won't be returning.
Love this place. The staff is always friendly and the food is great.
Best Italian food in Pasadena. Authentic, thoughtful and friendly service, great wine list.
The food by all means is great but if it wasn’t for the busboy the service would’ve been horrible, the waiter pretty was nowhere to be found & when he appeared, didn’t offer and or suggested any thing from the menu was not only rushing with the preset he also forced us to order our appetizers & main dishes at the same time, I read and order our food as it was written on the menu & he didn’t understand any word I read although he’s working at this restaurant for more than 10 years
The service was quite efficient for such a busy night. I found the dishes to be excellent and the wine was quite good as well.
We'll be back on a non-holiday evening for sure.
Went for Valentines Day dinner.
Very busy- good thing I had made reservations. Got seated quickly- and then no waiter for 10 mins- no water or bread service yet either. Waiter finally arrived and asked if we were ready to order ..? Didn’t introduce himself, or bring water, or even ask if we wanted to order some drinks? So I ordered us drinks, and asked for another minute with the menu... the drinks came in about 10mins, still no water or bread? Again he asked if were ready to order... seemed as if he was in a rush, so we ordered food, then finally some bread and water came out to our table, (30mins after being seated) I had the risotto as an app, and then the chicken Parmesan- both were delicious. My wife ordered the salad, and then ravioli as a meal- but she got upset stomach after the ravioli. We skipped desert as her tummy was upset. Overall - I think they got caught up in the V-day craziness- looks as if they ran out of bread- (why it took so long) , and were a little too busy to give good service. Oh well- might be back to try on a slower day....
Ruben helped us at the bar. Despite being slammed on Valentine's Day, he made great food suggestions and made sure our dining and drinking needs were met. The pasta was superb as always!
Excellent in every way exce
Excellent service as always
The staff were very nice and the menu was extensive, but the food and ambiance were just okay.
Super delicious. It was out first time eating there. Everything was super! Garbanzo soup was so good my 8 year old kept eating out of my bowl. I had the seafood pasta with shrimp. My hubby had the chicken parmigiana. My 8 year old ate salmon with fettuccine. Will definitely be going back!!!
Food was just Ok, soup was very salty, service was not bad, not great.
Just wonderful - Pasta was fresh, steak was delicious, drinks were exactly right, and the server was so very attentive. Who could ask for anything more?
My wife and I enjoyed a great meal at Celestine! The service was excellent and our server, Carlos, was very helpful and attentive. Our appetizer was tasty and our pasta was yummy and al dente! We will come back soon!
I gave a mixed review because (a) the service was extremely slow (although, to be sure, Celestino's was extremely busy and our waiter was running the whole time), and (b) the non-pasta dish we ordered was so salty we had to send it back and got pasta instead. The pasta dishes were very good, and the service, when we received it, was good. But we were there for 2 1/2 hours and had to send a dish back... so... mixed review.
Solidly yummy Italian food. We sat outside, which was quieter and very pleasant. Great service.
We were entertaining our Austrian friends and introduced them to your restaurant for the first time. You clearly did not disappoint. Living in Vienna, they are frequent travelers to Italy and speak Italian fluently. Mr. Drago visited our table and all had great conversation and made to feel very welcomed. Our friends spend a couple of months annually in Southern California and their takeaway was that Celestino is the best, most authentic Italian restaurant they have dined at in Southern California.
Great service and great food. Would definitely go back.
You can always get a table on Super bowl night! But this place is always busy- inside & outside.
Authentic Italian- a large menu and will make something if not there - I ordered chicken Milanese- not on menu- but able to make.
The mushroom souffle was shared- very full flavor. The arugula salad with artichoke & lemon dressing was shared and fresh tasting.
My dirty Martini was huge and perfect.
This is a Pasadena gem that's been here awhile.
As always Celestino is a great place for great Italian food. What we like is they have a great menu and in addition they great and interesting specials. We took our daughter and son-in-law out for their 20th anniversery.
Once again the food, the waitstaff were impeccable. Always great specials. I ordered the Chilean sea bass on a bed of spinach with a roasted red pepper sauce. My wife ordered the angel hair and pomodoro sauce. How is it that can make angel hair pasta al-dente? We are pretty regular here and is our go to spot to out of town visitors.
Gracie mile Celestino.
Hard to describe perfection... and Celestino's is it. Everything was more delicious than the next.
A good Italian standby in Pasadena. Old school in a very good way. We had the 3 course lunch prix fixe for LA restaurant week. Salad of baby spinach and matchsticks of pear and pecorino romano, lightly dressed and wonderful. Entree of pumpkin tortellini with sage and the most beautiful cream sauce, rice but totally lovely. Dessert of panna cotta with fresh strawberry sauce which was very small but perfect for lunch. For $25 where could you beat a deal like this which was exquisitely prepared and presented. Great bread, too.
Celestino is an excellent Italian restaurant in the Lake Avenue shopping district in Pasadena.
Best lunch ever!
Our meals were outstanding! The waitstaff was attentive, but not hovering. From appetizers, main course, dessert and wine...all was good.
Great Italia taste. And service.
always great ... we enjoy Drago downtown but this is a comfortable neighborhood restaurant and it was great to see it so busy on a sunday night ... but then staff which are first rate got stretched... always enjoy everything
Good food, good service, and delicious wine! Easy parking!
We were seated right away at a booth/chair combo. The booth went along the whole wall with multiple tables too close to each other. It was not possible to have a private conversation. The food was good but portions were small. My husband was still hungry afterwards. The highlight was a chopped salad with grilled shrimp that we split—so delicious! The Dine LA menu was not a good value so we ordered from the regular menu. $6 valet parking was the only choice.
Went to celebrate a special occasion and we were lucky it was DineLA - got to try some dishes for a great price. First, service was top notch and the ambience was very pleasant (not too noisy or quiet) - a really enjoyable experience. From the fixed prix menu, we both had the caprese salad, then we of, course sampled each other’s ossobuco and fettuccine al pesto entrees ! Then topped the evening off with cheesecake & panacotta and coffee. With the possible exception of the tomatoes, everything tasted great & served at the right temperature. Planning to go back with friends soon (& before DineLA ends !).
This is one of my all time favorite Italian restaurants. Service, food, portions, variety--all great.
We were seated right away and the waiter showed up promptly to take our drink order. He then recommended their specials, which we chose, and they were excellent! We will be back!!
Todo muy rico!
