Always the best experience! Best Italian food, best service, best place to be for any occasion. Favorite place in Pasadena.
The wait staff and the owner are great! The food is amazing! Love this cute spot
Romantic, delicious and well prepared meals. Service was sporadic in spite of low attendance, but worth it!
Happened to visit during truffle season and my pasta entree was one of the best tasting dishes I have ever had! Many delicious sounding options to choose from making it difficult to decide.
The service, the food and the old school Italian interior sets the stage for an excellant leisurely dining experience. This more of a fine dining Italian restaurant .
Patio dining avaliable. Plenty of free parking in rear.
Try the Osso Bucco or the Pumkin Tortellini with a bottle of Chianti and a basket of their warm and scumptous bread.
Was really looking forward to coming here. Was let down immediately entering and being told our reservation was going to be 25 minutes later to be seated. The place is extremely loud and bright. The food was not even descent; I could have saved a 100 bucks and put it toward food I could have cooked better in my own home. Ordered an Mixed Salad, it was not very fresh some leaves could have been considered sad. Ordered 2 plates of the Spaghetti Pomodoro and Ravioli and cream sauce. The pomodoro was dry, lacked flavor and it was made up of diced tomato instead of cherry tomato. The Ravioli was better than the spaghetti in the sense that there was flavor int he cream sauce. The Ravioli was really thick/doughy/chewy not in a good way. Neither of dishes were al dente level. Service was descent; the hottest was great and made sure to get us seated as well as making sure all other guests got seated to.
I food meet and exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was good, the employees were very friendly and professional, and the food was superb. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.
Great food, fun waiter (he's Italian). Definitely come back.
Great food service. Pasta amazing
Food and service were excellent as usual! One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Pasadena!
This restaurant never disappoints. There are so many good choices on the menu. The waiter was adorable.
Always serves good food and service is excellent and attentive.
Waiter was very curt and rude when asked questions by our friends.
Excellent multi lingual waiter.
This is not our first or last time to Celestino's. Our server was just not on his game and he had our large party of 9 plus 4 other large tables to tend to by himself. We were at the restaurant for almost 4 hours, just for dinner. We were there for 45 minutes before our order was even taken, we had to ask for refills on everything. Our food was very good, just waited a very long time for everything.
Fantastic experience. The dover sole was great. Great vodka martini and artichoke salad. My favorite pasadena restaurant!
This was our first visit to Celestino. The seafood salad was very good and the rest of our dinner was adequate. Our main complaint is that the service was extremely slow, not attentive and less than friendly.
2nd time here. Carlos our waiter was a delight again. Another wonderful experience. Food is spot on.
I came here with my colleagues for lunch and we had a great time. The food was delicious and service was incredible as well. Great ambience and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!
Truffle and mushroom season. They had lovely specials highlighting these treats. Celestino is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant. Good quality food and service. Highly recommend for a nice evening meal.
I’ve never had a meal I didn’t absolutely love. Beautifully prepared dishes that taste wonderful.
Extra quiet on a Tuesday night with World Series game. Food and service excellent as usual
The service was just okay.
My wife had pasta with seafood that she rated "C" to "C-"
I had pasta with spiral pasta and rapini and sausage that I rated a solid "B."
These are the lowest grades we have given to Celestino.
My Scotch before dinner was generous and fine.
The bread and the butter are always good.
The special mushroom soup was spare, but good.
We had the oldest waiter: he means well, but is wholly abrupt. very assertive and crotchety in his manner; we had to ask for bread; we were never offered parmesan cheese on the side. Everytime he came to the table he stepped on my feet with no apology.
We were seated at the corner table (which we requested), and the evening's manager ( a tall woman with grey-blond hair and a striped top) kept coming over to our table to adjust the thermostat by reaching past my ear (no apology) twice. She had no manners at all, and was a terrible floor manager, walking all over the place and accomplishing nothing. She was dressed like a slob for Sunday night dinner.
Great food. Great price. Great people.
One of our favorites- great pastas and wine ! Best wine pour in LA IMO
Service was great, food was delicious. I only wish the entrée portion was a bit larger. I left wanting more!
We hadn’t eaten here in several years, because we were not impressed then, but wanted to give it another shot. We will not be going back. The drinks were watered down to such a point, After 2 tries, I switched to Wine. The fish dishes were bland, the rabbit overcooked and the pasta very boring and dry. The meal took over 2 hours, and we were seated at 5:45, before the rush.
Went for a special occasion, a birthday. Indicated this on the website when booking also followed up with a call to the restaurant 2 hours before our reservation reminding them that we were there to celebrate a birthday, AND when we arrived, I informed the hostess that we were there for a birthday. Told the person that brings out the bread, who initially greeted us at our table that we were there for a birthday and wanted to have a dessert and sing happy birthday. Well, we waited around for some time hoping that they would sing and since the guest of honor was there, it really wasn't very convenient to ask them. So needless to say, they did not sing. Very disappointed and probably not going to go back anytime soon.
A perennial favorite. Most recently for a birthday celebration. great to have 3 waiters competing to serve our table.
For years this has been my favorite place to dine until the past couple of times which has offered service that is not up to the normal standard. The food is amazing, the ambiance remains the same, but the service has taken a turn and not sure why. The service may need some fluffing. It's unfortunate to have excellent food and less than stellar service.
- Menu has options beyond the standards (pheasant, rabbit, squid ink)
- Was able to get a reservation that day for a decent time
- Back patio seating
- Service, although friendly, was weak. Our waiter seemed to have too many tables, or was it a coordination problem? We and other tables waited a good while for food and drink after appetizers.
- Food flavors were just ok.
- Wine by the glass - you just pick a varietal and get a meh house wine (bottle list was definitely more interesting)
All in all really like Celestino's. It is unfortunate that they only have house wines by the class. If you want to pick from the wine list you must purchase a full bottle. Our service fell well below par this evening though. Service was well past slow and had to ask more than once for several things. Not sure if our waiter was new or just having an off night. Normally service has been good in the past...
Love this restaurant, try to get here anytime I'm in town. Great service, great food!
I thought the food was just ok and the prices were way to high. The service was so slow that my husband had to resort to hailing a busboy to get any service and a bill
Consistently good food. Large selection and innovative specials.
The wait staff here is excellent and if you are in an adventurous mood and not too worried about the expense, you should let your waiter make suggestions and provide you with a really fun dining experience. We let our waiter choose our dessert, which wines by the glass we should have, and make recommendations. He was great.
Food and service were good. Noise level became quite loud as the dinner progressed. Could barely hear the other guests at the table.
Food is great, service is bad. Waiter never asked if we wanted dessert or another glass of wine. We had to ask our busboy for the check which took a long time to come.
Excellent flavor. Very reasonable prices for the pastas.
