Celebration Town Tavern Ratings and Reviews
After visiting Kelly's Landings in Fort Lauderdale numerous times we decided to try this sister restaurant, what a huge disappointment! Out of the four of us only one dinner was cooked properly. The seafood combo and the fish and chips were way underdone. The batter was falling off and the fish, scallops and clams were not cooked enough or maybe the oil was not hot enough. After telling the server , we asked to at least get two pieces of fish that were fried properly. The attitude of the server changed at that point, and not in a good way. The second time the batter did not fall off but the fish still was not cooked sufficiently. Never did a manager come over and speak to us . Talk about poor customer service. Do not eat here!
Food is always excellent. This time, we discovered the half chicken which is flash-fried, then baked. It was marvelous - very juicy, tender, and flavorful. Although we eat here often, we didn't realize they had this because it is in the same listing as the boneless chicken breast prepared one of three ways. The entry says, "Boneless chicken breast served grilled, bbq, or cajun style or enjoy a roasted bone in 1/2 herbed chicken", so it is easy to miss the 1/2 chicken option and there is no information about how it is actually prepared. Their Boston baked beans are authentic and delicious - beans & franks are wonderful comfort food.
Ask for Lisa or Rob C for wonderful service!
Absolutely wonderful as usual. Our friend from NY comes down at thanksgiving every year and your place is a must to go to dinner. We love when Matt (from NH) is on she loves his service. But all the staf are wonderful and the food is great. Keep up the excellent service and cusine.
Thanks to all we will be back from time to time.
Lobster tail was perfect, Kansas City Strip was just ok. Creamed kale worth ordering. Grilled vegetables are not. Limited beer selection but a better top shelf liquor selection. JW Blue at 45, comparable to most better restaurants. For the same money I would go to Capital Grill. I think their food is just a level better.
The Celebration Town Tavern is always a reliable eatery. Andrew is our favorite server and does a great job. The food is good and the prices are fair. It is very easy to recommend this place to anyone. It's a nice departure from eating at the ubiquitous chain restaurants.
We heard great reviews about the Town Tavern and booked months in advance for an early evening meal. The location and bar/restaurant are excellent. Although the food left a lot to be desired. My partner had the steak salad but left most of it as the steak was full of sinew and chewy. My son had the fried clams, which were greasy and just awful. I had the twin lobster special which was not cooked properly. The tail was OK but the claws were clearly undercooked. The staff accepted our complaints but still presented us with a bill including the lobster meal cost. The whole situation was eventually resolved by speaking to one of the off-duty managers, and the whole bill was cancelled. Although, it was an uncomfortable and unpleasant experience, the Town Tavern is a very nice place, but our eating experience was the worst we had during our 16-day visit to Florida.
I met some old friends for lunch, we are all from Massachusetts and we were looking forward to authentic New England seafood. The clams were very good but a stingy portion. The pricing is not cheap but I don't think we got our money's worth. The wait service was very slow which was okay since we were visiting. Very short dessert menu. I might go back when I crave some Ipswich clams.
Second time visitors when on spring break. This time we made the drive from the airport because we enjoyed it so much last time. Great seafood and large kids menu. Drinks not too expensive. Service was great as well. Sitting outside is so nice (other than the visiting birds)!
My husband is from the Boston area. Because we seldom get to return to New England, this was a delight...authentic clam strips and Ipswich clams, Boston baked beans, lobster rolls! My husband even enjoyed a Narragansett beer, something he confessed to never drinking even when he lived in Massachusetts. We ate lunch two days in a row...it was that good!
Had a great meal with friends. Glad we made reservation as place was busy. I ordered New England Clam Chowder which was awesome. I should have ordered bowl rather than cup as I wanted more!! Followed with Ahi Tuna appetizer which was also excellent. My wife and friends were also very pleased with their meals. To top off the meal, the fresh Strawberry Shortcake was the best I've had. Will definitely be going back.
The food is primarily seafood from Maine with some nice steak options for entrees and great other choices for lunch or dinner, appetizers etc. The servers were very friendly and efficient. Make reservations! Otherwise you may have to wait. We do not live in Florida but this was our 3rd time here and we were always happily completely satisfied.
Today's lunch sucks!!!! Other eateries in the area are much better. Ordered peel-n-eat shrimp, it was completely flavorless, not to mention it was so old, it was difficult to peel the shrimp. Caesar salad wasn't much better, pile of stalks that were soggy and browning; salad quality was worse than Publix's salad-in-a-bag.
