We haven't been here in awhile and wanted to try it again. We opted for soup on a cold day and shareable plates. The soup , a regular on the menu, is a hot potato and leek soup - quite delicious. We shared 2 appetizers - a house cured smoked salmon appetizer and the ploughman's board. Both were wonderful - flavorwise and delicious accompaniments. The aggravation comes with the service. Particularly with ordering many small plates, service is bad. Plates and utensils that should be removed before another course pile up on the table - not a pleasant sight - getting the check becomes another aggravation - I tried to get the server's attention and finally 15 minutes later we got our check - in fairness maybe they need more wait staff with helpers -

We came to Cedric's for dinner after a day of touring Biltmore House. We loved the atmosphere with all the Vanderbilt family photographs with their dog, Cedric, on the walls. The restaurant was cozy but not crowded. The menu wasn't very extensive but we shared an appetizer and split the lobster roll. It was delicious! So many places put teeny tiny bits of lobster smothered in sauce but the big chunks of lobster in this roll were tender and so good. It was a very cold night so my husband and I had a Captain Morgan's spiced cider. It was sweet but strong. We definitely enjoyed it!

We ate at Cedric's because it was near the winery and that was the last leg of our day. I hate to leave reviews with one experience but it was okay. My daughter had the steak/greens/mac and cheese and she really liked her meal. My wife's chicken and my shepherds pie were okay. We realize on the estate meals are going to cost a little more, but you can find better meals at a better price in town.

Ordered Ribeye with shrimp and grits, shrimp and grits were very good, the steak was uneatable, had better at a Waffle House. It was like bubble gum chew it till the flavor is gone then spit it out. Service was good, so were the sides, just bad piece of meat poorly cooked.

Great waitress. Nice place. Wife’s burger was dry and fries under cooked. My Rueben was on toasted bread not grilled but nothing to be happy about. Just over priced average food in a nice place.

We chose Cedric's Tavern for our lunch on the day we visited the Biltmore Estate. It's right in Antler Village, so very convenient. Our table was ready as promised and Quinn was our server. Very attentive and nice server. Everyone's food was served hot and as promised - very delicious!

Our waiter was fantastic. Appetizer of artisan cheeses was excellent as was my Shepherd's pie. My husband's fish plate was a little bland thus the downgrade on the food. Vast selection of Biltmore Estate wines. Nice dessert selections.

Three of us had lunch. Had difficulty finding the location as the gps doesn’t do a good job of getting you to the right spot. Called and got directions and were seated promptly. Everyone enjoyed the pickles brought to every table—very interesting sweet and tangy flavor. Husband and son really liked the chicken wrap. I was less impressed with the salad and the pretzel rolls, which were too heavy. Service was very good though.

On a repeat visit to Cedric's we were not disappointed. Working through Open Table ensured prompt seating on a busy night. The hostess gave a pleasant, warm greeting directing us to a great table. Our server, Sarah, started off super and got stronger providing consistently attentive and prompt service.
After taking our drink orders, Sarah answered questions about the menu. We chose to start by sharing the Three Graces Goat Cheese appetizer. It arrived resembling nothing I had imagined but was excellent, plenty for two. A warm caponata of winter vegetables, pleasingly tart, was covered with goat cheese crumbles plus perfectly toasted sourdough, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside. The dish was quite good and appropriate for a chilly night.
We chose the night's special, Surf and Turf (NY Strip and Shrimp) and (as I've done before) the Shepherd's Pie. Sarah conveniently delayed our entrees to allow us to complete, at leisure, our appetizer.
The strip was quite large and cooked to a perfect medium. It was tender with good marbling, the product of Biltmore's Home-grown cows! The shrimp however, were a slight bit disappointing being of the small variety, although there were several. They appeared to be sauteed, seasoned just slightly and remained quite tender. All were set on a good portion of garlic mashed potatoes which were hot and tasty and provided a FULL plate.
The stout Shepherd's Pie was hot, broiled to produce a slight crunch on the topping of potatoes. A hearty and flavorful "stew" was hidden beneath the cap. There was a most noticeable flavor of lamb which was most welcome while all the vegetables were a pleasant al dente texture. If anything, additional lamb would have made it superb as the actual meat was sparse.
The evening wrapped up with a presentation of a Happy Anniversary plate and a couple of excellent dark chocolate truffles. Super nice touch, Cedric's! All in all, a grand evening to begin Anniversary Fest!

We always eat at Cedric's when at the Biltmore. I understand they have a new chef and was disappointed with the buffalo calamari. This is our favorite and they ha e changed the portion size and it is not cooked the same way. Besides that, our meal was very good and the service was wonderful as always.

Had open table reservation and after we decided we did not want to sit outside in sun, we were then moved to a high top bar table and the restaurant was almost empty. We asked to be moved again to a normal table. It was almost like we were being punished.

We stayed at The Inn & picked Cedric's Tavern for our special dinner while at Biltmore. We decided to have the pork chop dinner as the waitress said it was raised at the estate & was very tender. It was good flavor but not tender at all. It was quite chewy & the chops were more than half covered with heavy, thick, ugly fat. At $37 for each dinner we expected a nice tender , fall-off the bone pork chop, with slight fat on the edge at the most. The sweet potatoes were good but the brussel sprouts were charred on the outside. The waitress & manager? were very courteous to our disappointment & offered a complementary desert. We decided on the carrot cake which was another disappointment. (We have had much better carrot cake back home at College Inn in Alliance) Our waitress was very courteous & obliging & we left a 20% tip as a result.
So I would suggest avoiding Cedric's.
