Had to try a new place. Mom’s birthday so we decided to try it. We will be come back for sure. Loved it. Place was great, staff was great, food was great. I have only good to say. Two thumbs up. Thank you so much for a great experience
The cedar planked salmon was amazing as always. Apple streusel dessert with salted caramel ice cream is my favorite and large enough for a table of 4.
Remember going in the past (20) years and wanted to try again for the salad bar, unfortunately not the same quality as in the past.
I love this place, I truly do, we make the 45 min drive just to go there. But unfortunately for out anniversary dinner the other night on 3/3. We didn't have a great meal. Not sure if because it was restaurant week they were busy with keeping up, but my steak was blue. I couldn't eat it. I was disappointed. And went and ate else where later at night when I got hungry again.
Went for restaurant week, nothing photo worthy but all tasty. Great house cab, Berry colada. Surprisingly crowded, loud and casual but food was great. The view is lovely, go before sunset! Facilities are worn and could use freshening.
Was nice quite. Food was excellent. Menu great. Wine good. Service was excellent.
We really enjoyed our meal and the time there; relaxing. Staff very friendly
Food was great, just bit disappointed with the seating..We were sat in the lounge next to very crowded and rowdy table.
My husband and I have never patronized this restaurant but we visited during Restaurant Week 2018. We were a party of 4, we ordered thefollowing:
Seafood Bisque - Excellent but would like more chunks. Will have again (see we're already coming back)
Biergarten Steak Skewer - Oh my God how tender these two skewers were. Melt in my mouth & we shared one of the skewers between the 4
Cedar Planked Salmon - The sauce was amazing. Too much food for me but I ate everything
Steak Oscar - Everyone else had & they raved
Mud Pie - The men had & they didn't come up for air until their pie was G-O-N-E!!!!
Apple Streausel Cake - Fabulous, loved it!!!!! The cake was moist, ice cream was out of my comfort zone but I loved it. I could have eaten a second one.
Try this place out and enjoy!
I was a bit underwhelmed with the overall ambiance of the restaurant but the food was exceptionally good. We did the Restaurant Week menu and each course was absolutely delicious.
Food was amazing and the view was beautiful! Great place to gather with friends or go out on a romantic date.
I made reservation at Cedars for Restaurant Week. I'm so glad I did. I had been to Cedars once before and truthfully was impressed by the ambiance, but not particularly the food. But, I really wanted to take my Husband. Our reservation was at 4:15pm on a Saturday. There were already people there, but not enough to make it noisy. We had a nice table next to the window with a great view. It's hard not to have a good view from anywhere in the restaurant though. We ordered off the special Restaurant Week menu. For our first course, I ordered the Steak Medallions and my Husband had the Seafood Bisque. The steak medallions were succulent, tender and melt in your mouth. The seasoning was spot on. The seafood bisque was thick and creamy and seasoned wonderfully. My husband could have licked the bowl. Only one small piece of lobster on the top though....so that was slightly disappointing. But, overall the appetizers were fantastic. Second course I ordered the Seafood Risotto. I'm actually sad that I'm not sitting here eating it now. It was fantastic. Beyond fantastic. Risotto cooked perfectly and lots of seafood. It came with a skewer with two grilled shrimp and two sea scallops, perfectly grilled. I ate as slow as possible to try and savor every single bite. My husband ordered the Steak Oscar. It had two large steak medallions which were tender and juicy and seasoned perfectly. He ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfect. The mashed potatoes were good and it also had some crab on his plate. He was a happy man. For our third course, although we were completely stuffed...we both ordered the apple streusel cake. The best part of that cake was the caramel ice cream. The cakes were little muffins that looked like they had been precooked in large quantities in advance. It was good, but it could have been better if it was heated. Along side the ice cream, it should have been slightly warm. Overall....fabulous experience at Cedars. A must.
Dinner was amazing. We ate there Friday night and Sunday night and could not have been happier with our experience. We went with a group and the Steak Oscar and the Seafood Risotto (for Restaurant Week) were both tried and both were fabulous. We have also been to Clinkerdaggers and Beverly's for Restaurant Week and found the view as good and the food better at Cedars. We will be canceling our reservation to return to Clinkerdaggers and replacing it with another trip to Cedars. It was an all around better experience.
It was my husband's birthday....our server went out of her way to make our experience extra special for him!! The food and service were excellent.
We went to Cedars 32 years ago on our 1st date and still love this place! The food and service are wonderful and the view from the restaurant is beautiful!
So beautiful, they had our table waiting with special card for our anniversary and rose petals. They made us extra special, and as. Always the food is excellent
The prime rib and mud pie are soooo good here. Salad bar is not bad either. Kind of expensive for what you get, but not too overpriced. The view of Lake CDA is fantastic.
Filet and prime rib were excellent! $130 for 2 entrees, 2 glasses of wine and 2 sorbet. Pricey but it was a special occasion so we were glad the food was delicious and our server Melissa was wonderful.
Went there because of the uniqueness of the building ie: Floating restaurant. Menu options looked good. Everyone was happy with their choices and our drink choice was great.
The food is wonderful however, the last couple of times we’ve been there the service was unbelievably slow. It may be just seating in the bar area. So slow that I’m not sure it will be our first pick next time we go out.
We love Cedar's and will go back, but several large groups were leaving when we arrived and maybe the chef got in the weeds so to speak, but had to send some food back as it was totally COLD.
Eric was our server - impeccable service thank-you, along with his bus/water gent they did a fabulous job. The smoked trout appetizer was fabulous. The crème brulee was the best my husband has ever had in Coeur d 'Alene and he would know! Ribeye steak was full of flavor. We had plenty of food and took some home we were so full. It was a late Christmas celebration from work for us. We will definitely come back to try some other menu items out. I really want to come back and try the cauliflower entrée! I filled out the comment card to mail but this works! Thank-you!
Eric, our server, did an excellent job of explaining the specials to us. Very timely on the order. The young lady that sat us at our table was also very friendly and helpful.
We took our daughter for her birthday dinner and really enjoyed the view, the great food, nice wine list and friendly service. We had two appetizers to share - smoked trout and bruschetta - would recommend both! Dinner was amazing, not rushed and not slow - the whole evening was perfect and we'll be back! Drove over from Spokane and thought it was well worth the drive.
Always good especially salad bar
My wife and I came to Cedars for Christmas Eve dinner. It was an exceptional meal and night. We had a table right by the lake and could see fireworks from the Santa’s Village Boat Cruise across the lake. The service was amazing, and the food equally amazing. It is expensive, but we knew that going into it. The salad bar is a must, you can load up a huge salad with all sorts of options! We will be back!
Always a great place for special date night! Such a romantic and peaceful location that has been a favorite of mine for over 2 decades. ❤️
A party of nine of us went to Cedars for a birthday party for a friend. It was a busy evening, crowded and noisy. I didn't think the server Eric was very friendly. One of our party said his margarita tasted terrible but didn't send it back. The birthday girl didn't like the black rice. It was ok but could have been better for the cost.
Very pleased with the service and attention to detail as it was my wife's birthday. We were seated by the window and the table was prepared as I had requested. The entire staff wished my wife a happy birthday. The food was delicious and the ambience was exceptional!
We enjoyed our evening. The food was great
We had the prime rib roast and it was delicious . The waiter was superb and of course the ambience was wonderful great evening out
Had company from out of state. Stayed and resort and had dinner at Cedars. We were all very impressed with quality And quantity of items on Salad bar. Excellent. Dinner was also very delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly and were so delicious and tender. We had dinner and it was dark outside so couldn't see view outide view. We will definitely be going back. This has become our very favorite restaurant.
Reservation was for 4 people, not 2.---------------------------------------------------------------------------
we had a wonderful evening at Cedar's. Our mom was treated as a special guest and we appreciated that. Your restaurant is great and the food was outstanding.
Wonderful food, good service. Would recommend and will go back.
FIVE STARS ++
Everything about this place was excellent. Highly recommend this place. We split the legendary prime rib dinner and added a salad bar. The prime rib definitely was one of the best we've had and certainly earns the title "legendary". The horseradish they served was excellent and fresh too! The salad bar was excellent and very fresh. Added a bottle of their signature red wine, which was amazing too! Can't forget that he ordered a bloody Mary before our dinner, which was definitely in the top 5, if not the top that we've had. It was full of flavor, not too salty with a tad of a hot zing, but not too much. Our waiter was superb also! (Want to say his name was Ron... wish we would have checked). The table next to us got their famous mud pies that looked amazing... but we were way too full after the delicious dinner to even think about trying. Definitely will be back, wish they were a little closer to home!
My wife and I celebrated our 4th anniversary here as it was also the restaurant I proposed to her at. The staff made sure to make it special by seating us in a great spot with a window looking out on the water. They also had a Happy Anniversary card and rose petals on the table when we arrived scoring more points for me with my wife! They have a great wine list and we usually enjoy a bottle when we are here, but my wife is expecting so no wine this time. My wife had the chicken and I had the rib eye. Both were very good with plenty to take home for leftovers. We had great service that was not too attentive and we never felt rushed. This place is a bit pricier, but it is worth it for those special occasions. Looking forward to going back again!
We ordered the Prime Rib and Salmon. Server was great!
The prawn cocktail was disappointing. It was 6 nice prawns laying on some cabbage and a cup of cocktail sauce to dip in. Not even close to what I expected to get. The clam chowder is good as was the halibut. The other people with me had prime rib and it was also very good. The baked potatoes were loaded and very good.
This was our first time at cedars. Service was great. Friendly and prompt all around. Food was excellent. My Steak and lobster was cooked perfectly. Nice wine list. Dessert was amazing. Great experience all around.
Our waiter Eric was pleasant until we asked for the early bird menu, which is NOT given or mentioned when you arrive or are seated. Food was average, could have gotten same quality at Applebees. I saw chef put his finger in his mouth, not wash hand but keep on plating foods-pretty gross. Bus boy was the most attentive. Eric should not be a waiter at a "high end" restaurant. Overall I wouldn't recommend or even go back.
