Cedar Street Grille Ratings and Reviews
My long-time friend and I recently lunched at the Cedar Street Grille in Sturbridge, MA. The lunch menu was somewhat limited to small plates, salads, and sandwiches. We both ordered the Lobster Casserole small plate with a house salad. The lead was fine. My friend asked for some bread to have with the salad and it never came. The lobster casserole was a huge disappointment. It was a pastry shell swimming in a stew-like conglomeration of diced potatoes, carrots, and other vegetables. Mine had only 3 small pieces of lobster and there was an herb flavoring in it that I didn't care for. I couldn't eat most of it even though it cost
$18.00. I would have been happier with a salad, but wanted to try something different. I won't be returning.
Hands down one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. We shared a few small plates which were fabulous. Crazy Dates, Angry Clams and Garlic Shrimp were our favorites. Then we shared the steak with chumichurri sauce and it was amazing. I could’ve eaten an entire plate of the pickled onion salad alone! Then came dessert. We could not get enough of the pumpkin ice cream sandwich. The gingerbread cookie, the pumpkin ice cream, caramel swirl and homemade whipped cream came together to make magic. An amazing meal!!
We have been here before and it never disappoints!! Love the food. The menu is not too extensive so, if you are looking for a place with a ton of variety, this is not the place. We really like the "different" take on traditional foods. Would return here for sure.
kudos to the staff.... we arrive an hour early for our reservations ( yikes- got the time wrong - central vs eastern standard. they did no turn us away but instead let us have a glass of wine while we waited for a table to open. maybe 20 minutes later we were seated. we ordered a mess of delicious stuff. we liked it all but the fried chicken & mac & cheese stole the show. only down side food wise was the sautéed spinach. it was tough&reedy and to wet. otherwise dynamite!
I always enjoy eating at Cedar Street Grille. I have been there with friends, family, and on dates with my husband. At lunch yesterday, I brought in 3 people who had never eaten at Cedar Street before. I looked on the menu for the fried goat cheese (which I love) and it wasn't on the lunch menu. Our server, Hillary, asked if we might be able to order some and they made it for us anyway. We ate the fried goat cheese, soup of the day (chicken with rice), various salads, and pulled-pork mac n cheese. Everything tasted wonderful, our service was excellent, and Cedar Street Grille has become a favorite to 3 new people. Keep up the good work!
Food was very good, however the service was terrible. It took the waitress an excessive amount of time to come to our table to take our order. Once the food came out she didn't come to see if everything was ok and then we were rushed with the check. Not sure if we will be going back.
I meet friends from the Boston area here frequently, since it’s about a 45 minute drive for all of us. The wait staff is friendly, patient, and understanding about the fact that we are going to be doing more talking than eating/drinking! The food is interesting, drinks are fine, and we tip them extra as “booth rent.”
Cedar Street has long been reliably very good, and its menu has gotten even more interesting - small and large plates, as well as salads. While not every dish hits the mark, most are successful - e.g., scallops and lamb meat balls were excellent, but the pork shank was not very flavorful. A little bit pricey, but you know you will get good quality.
This was our second visit to Cedar Street Grille and better than the last from the host (friendly and offering us table choices), waitress (helpful, cheerful), and the food (excellently prepared). We enjoyed our lunch time visit very much due to experiencing a more relaxed vibe while enjoying excellent food and beverage
I went here with my husband and son for dinner and we had an amazing meal. We decided to go with small plates and ordered many (MANY) dishes. Each one was better than the next - shrimp, mozzarella roulade, scallops, deviled avocado eggs, empanadas. Absolutely delicious! I'm sorry I only took a picture of the gorgeous drink because everything looked as great as it tasted.
So happy to have solidly clean, and nicely presented food option in Sturbridge. Something for everyone with beer-wine-cocktails-non-alc, too. The staff were well trained and accommodating. The interiors clean and nicely kept up. I would prefer a few less drizzles to reduce sugar but that's just me.
Delicious food: fried pickles, pulled pork sliders, salmon quinoa burger, Mac and cheese, swordfish and chips and crazy yummy desserts including coconut chocolate spring rolls, key lime tart, s'mores ice cream, lemon curd parfait with blackberry sauce and buttermilk biscuit crumble. Our waitress Karen was very friendly and attentive. We had a wonderful time!
Arrived about 30 mins ahead of 8pm reservation and manager accommodated my wife and I with an open table. What we certainly realized that on a Friday night, a reservation is a MUST if you have any hopes of sitting at a table. Small, casual, yet cozy and co.fortably enviting restaurant that I highly recommend. We live about 40 minutes away into CT and well worth the drive. Only wish there was somewhere to walk around with coffee I hand after the meal.
I've met friends at Cedar Street Grille twice in less than a week. It's a great location for those of us coming from opposite directions on the Pike, and the wait staff is friendly, professional, unobtrusive, and willing to let people linger after a meal is finished. We tend to have appetizers and drinks, both of which are terrific.
What a gem of a place! Great wine selection and the small plates were outstanding. We had the Caesar salad, stuffed figs and clam small plate. Everything fresh and flavorful. We then split the roast for 2 which was melt in your mouth delicious. Sleepy Sturbridge has a real find in this restaurant and our wait staff was attentive without being intrusive. Prices were fair for this great dining experience and I recommend it to anyone visiting the area who wants a great meal away from the chain restaurants where you can relax, chat and eat.
