Cedar Street Grille Ratings and Reviews
the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick has great music and shows in their gorgeous auditorium. and Cedar Street Grille is a good halfway spot between Worcester and Hardwick, and has become our go-to dinner spot before events at Eagle Hill. if they could get Tree House beers back on the menu it'd be awesome!
I found this place by luck as we were searching for a 1/2 way point to meet my cousins who live near Hartford and I live near NH border. When I walked in, I saw the nice bar set up and the had XM radio or something like that playing excellent music, some blues soft rock, nice to listen to. The staff were more than pleasant. My family decided to make this our new meeting place. So you'll be seeing more of us.
We went here only because we were in the area (it's about 1 hour from home), but will certainly make a point to go back. Lots of menu items with bacon (from apps, to dinner, to drinks) - which can never be bad. We had the Bistro Salad, Poached Pear Salad, Crazy Dates (Bacon wrapped dates with cranberry vinegrete) and L-moules Frittes (mussels and fries). The food was outstanding, the space and service was great - can’t wait to go back!
Our visit to Cedar Street Grill was very good. In my opinion, they have a very nice bar in which to enjoy a ore dinner drink. The selection of draft beers is unusual, focusing on some local microbrews. As for dinner, we enjoyed the buttermilk chicken and the braised short ribs. Both were very good. We started with the Cedar salad which while nothing unusual, was good.
Overall, our dinner was a very nice experience.
We dined at 5 PM on a Saturday night. The place was already getting lively, and filled up by the time we left at 6:30.
We had requested the main dining room, but were seated in the room with the kitchen pick up counter. Nice area if you like
to see all the food coming out, and waitstaff picking up. A bit too busy in there for romance.
All the small plates we had to excellent. I was a tad disappointed that the sauteed arugula, pancetta, and truffle oil dish was
no longer on the menu, but there were many great new items.
Will be more specific on my seating request next time.
Overall, the meals at Cedar Street are marvelous, and I highly recommend the place, so this evening's dinner was a surprise. Please see private note to restaurant.
For the public, though, the date dessert is a dream, simply wonderful. I hadn't imagined that such a combination of flavors could be good--but wow, kudos to the inventor of these.
Great food! Excellent menu, tapas style. I had pumpkin sausage macaroni and cheese! Unbelievably delicious and not overwhelmingly heavy like some mac and cheeses can be. Great service! Beautiful, modern decor. Busy night, but no delay on getting our food. I highly recommend.
We started w/ the Pork Belly app, delicious!! The apple beet purée was yummy. All three of our meals were very good. Their house Mac-N-cheese was good. I really like mine w/ the mushrooms. We finished w/ three different desserts, all very yummy. We really liked this place. The only downfall I saw was Hubby's steak was sliced for him which made it very dry. He asked for med well but got med, thank god otherwise it would of been like shoe leather.
Always looking for places where a person with gluten & milk allergies can order more than 1-2 token items on a menu. Having read favorable reviews, we were expecting good food but were thrilled to have been provided meals that even exceeded our expectations. We don't generally order dessert because even the most accommodating restaurants rarely have desserts that fit this restriction unless it's homemade sorbet. But to our delight, the chef pulled together a beautiful bowl of fresh berries with Grand Marnier. Another person in our party had the fantastic creme brulee. Outrageous crazy dates and short ribs. Thrilled with our knowledgeable waitress, the level of service, and so grateful to the chef who made our experience so memorable.
Restaurant has 3 styles of seating: regular dining tables, high tables & stools, and sitting at the bar. Is relatively small restaurant with cozy atmosphere. Tapas is imaginative and fun, service is good and bar provides good cocktails. My wife and I have been pleased the 3 times we have eaten dinner here.
We finished wandering through Old Sturbridge Village on a lovely fall day and traveled 5 minutes to Cedar Street Grille. We had a great experience with small plates, wine, and attentive service. Lobster sliders were a hit, all other dishes well done. A great informal experience with the food and ambience. My second time, my 3 companions first time, and we all will go back happily.
Cedar Street Grill like any "fit for foodies" restaurant in Sturbridge has some stiff competition. However, this place has always risen to the challenge of competing in a community with a vibrant food scene! Cedar Street is great. I highly recommend sampling any of their tapas dishes, and the jalapeño and bacon mac and cheese is delicious. Don't be afraid to match up your dishes with some of the great microbrews that are always available on tap.
It always happens: whatever my husband orders is better than mine! He ordered the lump crab meat Benedict and I ordered the hash with fried eggs. My hash was fine but could have done with more chorizo. His dish, however, was delicious! Coffee was good; we also shared an order of beignets, which were good but not spectacular. Service was excellent. We will come back and try a few more menu items in the future.
The food here was really good. the waitress was even better. we ordered the calamari to start which came with a creamy looking sauce on it. because my dining partner is lactose intolerant we asked about dairy in the sauce. The waitress checked with the kitchen and confirmed it didn't have diary, but we weren't convinced, We asked her to bring us another one with the sauce on the side and she did just that right away. I got the salmon and spinach for my dinner and my dining partner had steak both were cooked perfectly! We skipped dessert, but I did have tea. they had an excellent selection of Mighty Leaf - a fabulous tea brand. overall it was an excellent dining experience.
Cedar Street is among my favorites in the region. The food is consistently excellent and adventurous, the wine list is very good, and the ambiance is cool and fast-paced. And the wait staff are attentive, detail conscious and responsive to customer needs. We can count on Cedar Street to deliver a fine dining experience every time.
Looking for an "in-between" place to meet my friends and family in Connecticut, I searched online for a place in Sturbridge and found this sweet gem. It has great ambiance, really clean, a full bar, great service and a delicious menu! We had lunch. Two of us ordered the Mac n Cheese, one with lobster, and it was wonderful. A nice wine selection. Because we came for a long visit, nobody rushed our stay. I will use this place again as a meeting place!
