Cedar Street Grille
Fried Goat Cheese
house made boursin goat cheese, chutney, honey, grilled baguette
Sweet Potato Fries
littleneck clams, andouille, cherry tomatoes, cherry peppers, lemon butter sauce, grilled baguette
This was our first time dining here and overall it was great. The food was excellent - it was hard to narrow down the menu because everything sounded so good. The only downfall to our experience was that service was painfully slow. We got there at 445pm and didn’t leave until 7pm. We’ll go back because the meal was just so good, but hoping service is a little more attentive next time.
Annie was a great server. Barbara is great too
Everytime we go to Cedar Street Grille, we enjoy our culinary expierence.
The restaurant was moved to the red barn which was an amazing venue with great ambiance! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. 10/10 would recommend the pan seared scallops in butternut squash purée and truffle fries.
Sat outside on the patio social distancing It was a sunny day complimented with great service and good food.
Very enjoyable lunch with friends. Everyone was able to find a meal they liked.
While Cedar Street Grille was recommended as one of the best out-of-Boston restaurants in Massachusetts online, it really fell flat. The main issue was with the service. When we asked for recommendations, she recommended everything that was fried and didn't seem to really care to help us navigate the menu; the answers were terse. Whenever we'd receive a dish or drink, she would go to a table nearby to schmooze beforehand and ultimately not schmooze with our table, showing us that she really didn't care about us. Additionally, she never asked what we thought about our drinks nor our food. So when we asked for the check, it came as a surprise that, as she was turning around and collecting our dishes, she asked, "no dessert today?" No, no dessert today. From getting the check to receiving the receipt took 13 minutes.
Had the food been tasty, it all would have been fine. However, the food was mediocre at best which exacerbated our poor experience. All of the oddities simply added up. Perhaps it would have been better had we ordered the fried food!
Great food. Outdoor dining area was under a big tent and very spacious (no fear of Covid 19 exposure).
Would have been even better with outdoor heaters.
Seated inside, not busy, 11 AM reservations - brunch plate (lobster benedict) came out parts-chilled to slightly-warm (should have been a lot warmer) on a COLD plate (should have been minimum warm-warm-warm). Advised waitress accordingly. Next visit will order this type of meal stating expected meal temperature on a minimum warm plate or it will be sent back. This was not our usual experience for this restaurant.
Food is consistently good - terrific small plates -Angry Clams, burger sliders are perfection and humus always a sure bet. Very good cocktails , craft beers . The down side was service - usually very good but the person serving disappeared for long periods of time - the six tables outside were all in need of drink orders and water refills - we asked busboy ( who was great ) to get a glass of wine . Was very odd as usually places are quick to ask about ordering cocktails and wine . We waited almost an hour for the waitstaff to cone back to our table / we got apps fast and first drink- then nothing u til our dinner arrived. And pet peeve -places need to bring a glass with a bottled beer- we needed to ask . You would never drop a can of soda at a table- not sure why places don’t bring a glass with a beer?
Great food always -
This place was AWESOME! Can’t recommend it enough. The food was absolutely amazing. The dates appetizer was to die for and each of the entrees we got were outstanding. Service was a little slow but we had time and enjoyed the gorgeous atmosphere! Highly recommend. Can’t wait to go back next time I’m in the area.
great food! Loved, loved, loooooved the truffle mac and cheese!
Delicious food and great service. The rave reviews did not disappoint.
Excellent as always. Best restaurant in central Massachusetts
We are big fans of cedar street but this past time was awful. They are now in the barn across the street, our app took 45 min and it was only bread, which was very over done. The calamari was not the was it usually is, it was dark and old like it was sitting there! I will give it another chance however when it moves back over to the other place because we have had wonderful meals at cedar street.
Our first time at Cedar Street and was thoroughly impressed. The food was incredible and the ambience was perfect.
Great Staff, Awesome food & drinks. Service on point.. 10/10 recommend
Always a great night out
Met a friend for lunch. Sat inside as it was
Raining. Nicely set up inside. Good and service was good .
I was nervous after seeing a couple recent negative reviews, but my friend and I loved this place! Went on a Tuesday night so it was quiet. My only concern is that there was really no indication that they are currently operating out of a separate venue across the street. Otherwise, food was absolutely DELICIOUS (we got the dates app, brussel sprouts, risotto, sliders, and steak a la carte). Pricing was what was to be expected for tapas. Highly recommend!
Service was lacking and food was cold and underwhelming. We will not return.
We had to wait 35 minutes to receive water and 40 minutes to get coffee. When our food arrived after 1 hour wait it was cold.
I really enjoy the Cedar Street Grille. The atmosphere is pleasant with the outdoor dining.
We have eaten in the tented area as well as the outdoor patio. I do like the patio best but tent great too. Great food. Great Service and very good musician both times. Hope to go back soon.
Food is always innovative and wonderful tasting!
Great service, apps and drinks. Meal just ok.
The food was garbage. The server forgot my meal. And the portions are small. Thank you.
Our main meals were not as tasty as expected. The swordfish was coated with too many peppercorns and the steak had to be sent back for more grilling (I asked for medium it came out rare). The brussel sprouts appetizer was incredible - crunchy and delicious with great flavor. Service was responsive, warm and inviting!
Prior to COVID, we were very frequent guests and loved Cedar Street. This was our first try back. We dined inside the barn area, where the carpets are stained and the ambience was flat. The service was pretty good (and tipped accordingly.) The beer was warm. Served in non chilled glasses. The food...for which we tried the chicken sliders, burger sliders, small Flatbread, fries, fried Brussel Sprouts and scallop small plate was mixed. The scallop was pretty good, as were the fries. It went wayyyy downhill from there. The sliders were overcooked and nearly inedible. Thus, why we left some uneaten. The Brussels were overcooked greasy and extremely bland. The Flatbread was half the size of the old version and almost all crust. Needless to say for 160.00 (not including tip) this was not a meal to recommend to anyone and we will wait until Cedar Street is back up and running.
It’s weird going out in Covid times- but Cedar street made indoor dining comfortable and stress free. The service and food where both top notch. The cocktails didn’t disappoint either. If you are looking for a great place for brunch, lunch or dinner I would recommend this restaurant.
We ate outside, in their tent with socially distanced tables and felt very safe. The food was outstanding, and despite it being in the 50's the food was warm. Our waitress was phenomenal! And the live music outside the tent was a bonus. This place never disappoints!
Fantastic all around! Best restaurant in the area!
Great food allows for trying more choices. Excellent service!
Excellent dinner at the Cedar Grill.....the tables were distanced,so we felt safe. Our waitress was kind, helpful, and patient. The entrees tasted fantastic . It was a terrific evening of dining out.
Great brunch! Lovely outside and very socially distant
Overall great experience
We had several items off the menu, including the buttermilk fried chicken, truffle mac and cheese, calamari, risotto and the surf n' turf special which consisted of scallops and steak. Everything was perfect. The crew in the kitchen was really on point. Service was just as spectacular as well.
The only reason for the noise level and ambiance ratings is down e to outdoors seating in a Covid19 world. In reality I cannot fairly comment on either under normal circumstances
Great food, served responsibly outside so we could enjoy a socially-distanced meal. And it was a great meal. Thank you Cedar Street Grille!
