   First time at Cedar Knoll for an early dinner. We had an amazing time, great view, perfect weather. Ian, our server, was awesome and was attentive. Price was high but food was worth it. Will be back again one of these days.

   Delicious food, beautiful scenery and pleasant, prompt service. The only downside that caused me to not give an excellent rating is that the servers need to be more familiar with the menu items and wine list. When I asked for details for two particular entree's the server only repeated the ingredients as listed on the menu. I would expect such minimal knowledge in a casual dining restaurant, but not in a fine dining establishment.

   Alexia is always so nice and welcoming ! Aki gave us excellent service. Food is always delicious.They have the best Oyster Rockefeller in the area. The lemon Semolina Cake is superb! My favorite dish is the NY Strip Steak .Cedar Knoll is our favorite restaurant in Alexandria!

   7:00 pm reservation, food was not served until 9:00 pm. The staff was very apologetic and accommodating, moving us inside after sitting outside for so long and very personable. But waiting an hour and 45 minutes for food is just too long. Something had to be off in the kitchen

   Excellent anniversary dinner! We had the clam cakes and rockfish. In the hands of the chef, these classic dishes were elegant and delicious. The service was impeccable. Despite an unexpected rush on a Wednesday night, Ian made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy a special occasion. We can always count on Cedar knoll for a delectable and pleasant outing.

    Dining was generally good and surprising. I did not realize they had a special menu and they always have special menus for holidays so I did not get to order exactly what I planned on. However, the food was good.

    Having a family-style approach to special brunches sets Cedar Knoll apart from other restaurants. Everything was prepared well and we enjoyed our meal. (It was MOther’s Day and my 90-year old mother throughly enjoyed herself.) Alexia made our visit extra special with her personal touches and attention to our needs. The host staff was also very warm, helpful and fun. Bravo all around!

    Terrible experience. There was a wedding at the restaurant that was loud and disruptive. It took hours to get served and the staff used the wedding as the excuse. Water for tea was brought in a pot with no lid? And not hot enough to brew tea. Overall a very expensive disappointment.

    The staff worked hard to make the evening an enjoyable experience. 2 of us had fried chicken which is always incredible. Another guest has seafood risotto. Also delicious. I got the veal scallopini, which I have enjoyed there many times before… it was good, but not quite as good as usual. I mentioned that to our server and they went WAY over the top to make it right. These guys really care about getting things perfect and the customer service could not have been better. I’m really looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend dining here-

    We’ve been here many times over the years hoping for a different experience each time. The location is amazing and convenient to our home. This place has always struggled with service, but I appreciated their willingness to take a chance on kids that wanted to work. Tonight was a huge let down. Our server was clueless and clearly had no concept of timing and basic service cues…and she wasn’t a 17 year old hustling. Everything from taking our order (on a ridiculous tablet) to filling the wine and water was a huge failure. We are very forgiving folks and I still tip well regardless of service…everybody has a bad night. We were celebrating my son’s first communion and he picked the restaurant. The food was consistent- decent, but not for the price (I’m willing to pay more for service and location) and the desserts are still boring and not great. If the kids pick Cedar Knoll again, they will get a Dad veto. We love to support local business, but another overpriced $560 dinner with crap service is one too many for me. Leave this place to the tourists.

    We unfortunately ended up with what appeared to be a very "green" waitress who got bot our appetizer and entree wrong. My friend and I ordered the same thing, and they brought out one of each instead of 2. They did take responsibility and did not charge us for either. The food was excellent.

    Cedar Knoll never disappoints!! Nick, Jordan , Alexia, Gabriel and Latosha always make us feel welcome. The Fried Goat Cheese, Oysters Rockefeller and Scallops wrapped in Bacon are excellent! I always get the NY Strip . The wine list is open to any budget. Last but not least, dessert!! Cedar Knoll remains our favorite restaurant. Beautiful place, excellent service and delicious food!

    Overall Cedar Knoll was a fun adventure. They're trying very hard to be a destination, and the food is top notch, but it seems they're experiencing growing pains. The service leaves something to be desired, as it was nearly an hour between ordering our entrees and them arriving (they comped our dessert which was nice). Several other tables arrived after us and got their food before we did, and at no time did a manager stop by to check on us as is usually done at restaurants. The cocktails were delicious and the appetizers top notch. Overall it's a nice restaurant and worth a trip for a special occasion.

    First time there. Service was terrible. Took 45min to get someone to take our order. 4 or 5 times staff brought food to our table that we didn’t order, then wandered around trying to figure out where it belonged. I asked for a change in my entree due to a food allergy (just removing something) and they brought it out as it was on the menu— I have a severe shellfish allergy and the kitchen completely ignored the request. My husband’s dinner was ready so he went ahead and ate and was basically done by the time my food came. Asked 3 times for a cup of black coffee. Food was great once it finally came but portions were quite small for the price. Waiter was very friendly but slow. Doubt we’ll be back. :(

    Excellent food in a wonderful setting. The restaurant overlooks the Potomac River, which gives the restaurant a special ambiance. The menu lists a wide variety of foods so that diners are bound to find and select a meal especially to their liking.

    I was at Cedar Knoll for a wine pairing dinner that was supposed to start at 6:30 pm. The pacing of the event was horrible, not sure if there was an issue with the kitchen, but the food for each course came out WELL after we were done with each wine pairing. It took WAY too long and we finally left at 1030 pm, missing the last course because it was already super late. For a $150 event, this was a huge disappointment.
