About Cedar Hollow Inn Restaurant & Bar
The Cedar Hollow Inn has been a local favorite for over 18 years. The building, which was built in the mid 1800's, lends an old-fashioned charm to an unpretentious atmosphere.
Chef Stephen Guiseppe of the Culinary Institute of America adds personal flair and imagination to a delectable menu of American Continental dishes. The daily Chef's Specials are creative and unpredictable, energetically inspired an hour or so before the menu is finalized.
Indulge yourself, family and friends to a casual fine dining experience in any of the three dining rooms, including an enclosed sun porch and a large bar area. Tucked away in the middle of everywhere, the Cedar Hollow offers an experience that keeps you coming back.

Cedar Hollow Inn Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
I came here for gankangiving with me two sons aged 3 and 8. It was kind of lonely to be there without the whole family as my husband was traveling. But the staff especially the owner lady made us feel so much at home, even playing and chatting with my lil one! The food was delicious and even my picky eater said “we should come here more often!
Thanks for a great evening! Will definitely back with the whole family
Thanksgiving dinner out. The tables were beautiful and the ambiance as usual was cozy inn. The restaurant offered a 4 course thanksgiving dinner or anything off of the menu. All of us but 1 had the thanksgiving and it was delicious and better than expected. My husband has the osso buco and loved it. We would absolutely dine here again anytime and certainly again on Thanksgiving. The meal and service were 5 Stars.
Cedar Hollow Inn is great for lunch, but once you get past the soup/sandwich/apps which are excellent, the chef does not deliver. I had woodfired salmon which was cold and looked boiled with one char mark. My husband tried the lighter fare, the tenderloin salad and it was served with a pile of meat bits. Our waiter was a little edgy for a quiet evening in the burbs. Ambiance is great!
Cedar Hollow is one of our favorites. It is ALWAYS delicious!
On this particular evening, a gentleman who was dining at the next table had s medical incident. Chelsea and Nicole handled the situation with concern, care and sensitivity... while allowing the gentleman to maintain his dignity. The management should offer those two a huge raise . You cannot train for those emergencies and these two employees were better than great!!!!
sorry to say our experience this time was very poor. The ravioli appetiser was very salty. I only ate half of one (two came). Another guest got a seafood tower and the shrimp was not cooked at all, neither was the shrimp that accompanied another fish dish. My husband left and went to a nearby pub and got takeout.
I've been there before with good to mixed results but this time it was not good at all.
My husband and I love coming to Cedar Hollow. And on a very special moment, I can meet up with my sister-in-law for some good conversation. Cedar Hollow has a lovely sunny porch to dine on, but it can be noisy. However, there are many areas that offer a quite place to have a conversation with the extra noise of other customers. For the most part, it is a great place for food, conversation and a good bar scene with music. Check their web site for further information on their live music offerings.
Always get a delicious meal at Cedar Hollow. Sunday dinner is a favorite for the buck-a-shuck oysters. They had my husband's favorite...Wellfleet. I enjoyed lamb chops, cooked perfectly. My husband had the duck breast. One of our favorite servers, Joe, was personable, funny and customer-service perfect. A favorite place to dine and Open Table reservations make it so easy!
Very cute place with nice, lively bar, nice wait staff, but the food was just mediocre. French onion soup had lots of good cheese but the broth was not hearty. My prime rib was undercooked even after sending it back and didn't have much flavor. It tasted like one that you get prepackaged and then heat up.
Met a friend for dinner recently at Cedar Hollow Inn on a week night. The dinner menu is outrageously overpriced. The lowest priced entree is a chicken breast for $25 with whipped potatoes, nothing special. Sides are al-a-carte costing $8 each. We ordered sandwiches from the lighter menu, basically a lunch menu. They came with chips but the waitress offered fries instead without telling us there would be a $3.50 up-charge. We also had spinach salads with a warm bacon dressing. The spinach had not been washed and there were slimy rotted pieces of spinach clinging to the other pieces of spinach. Very unappetizing! A simple wash in cold water could have fixed that problem. Our server was busy and our dinner took 2 and a half hours to complete, just salads, sandwiches and a bottle of wine. Ridiculous! Then they automatically add a 20% tip on the bill. What incentive is there to provide good service if they know they're getting a 20% tip. Pretentious! This restaurant is not ready for prime time!! Many better alternatives!
We took my elderly mother and a friend for dinner. We were seated in the front porch room. It is a pleasant room except for the noise. The room was full and really, uncomfortably loud. Food was very good, nicely presented and service was attentive. The noise level, unfortunately, made it much less pleasant experience.
Cedar Hollow gets a 4.3 rating from my fellow Open Table members and I question why. I had the onion soup and it was edible but not much more. I had the shrimp, crab and avocado stack. The ingredients were good, the seasoning was absent. Same for hubby's halibut. The best part of his dish was the brussels sprouts. He also had mushroom bisque that was just OK. The bar looks good if you're looking for a place to have drinks. I don't think that I'll go back.
Not told that there was a graduation party there that night and all the regular tables were taken. We were seated at an uncomfortable high top table in the foyer of the restaurant for a 6:45 reservation. Would have appreciated a heads up phone call or email.
The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The room we were seated in was very nice. The duck was tastey, there was only minicule amounts of lamb on the lamb chops, not enough meat with the steak, and the cheese did actually slide right off the pizza while eating, which is what another reviewer said.
Great place to have dinner and drinks with friends. There was a band in the bar (which provides some nice entertainment), yet we were closed off enough in the other room to hear each others' stories. Entrees are unique, delicious and reasonable. The won't rush you or mind if you are laughing out loud. Front porch is private with big windows.
