It was New Year's eve and our first visit, so hard to judge what is usual. Prices were very inflated for what we received. I had grouper with crab. The portion was modest and the food was delivered only slightly warm. I sent it back and it was returned in the same manner. That costs $34 until they adjusted $10 off because I complained.
Overall, my party seemed to enjoy but we all felt it was overpriced.
Our lunch was exellant, get there by noon befroe the crowd arrives if you want the front closed in porch area. Enjoyed our meal and the service was just right for those who still have a lunch hour to work with.
Enjoyed as always. The kitchen had run out of a few menu/drink items, which i have never had happen before. I love this place as a unique place to take co-workers and clients. Great ambiance, fabulous food at a reasonable price.
We love this place! The food is always Amazing! I haven't had a bad meal yet. I highly recommend the mushroom bisque and the bacon wrapped scallops, the seafood tower, vegetable lasagna, oh ! and the duck breast.. Around 9 pm the bar has live music, I have only seen a guitarist play but every time we have been there the music has been very enjoyable.
The only bad thing this time was that our server seem to disappear alot ,in fact I had to ask the hostess if she would get our server.
Give that minor problem, this would not stop us from recommending this bar and restaurant .
We had talked about going for dinner for years since I go for lunch occasionally. Dinner was a wonderful experience and the food was amazing. The staff makes you feel like you're the only guests! Great experience.
Delicious food, good service...insufficient portion size (at least for the trout)!!!
Always very good. Mushroom bisque is excellent. Can be a bit noisy, but dining on the porch is still a delight.
Overpriced, small portions. Not impressed. Online menu was entirely different than the one given to us in the restaurant.
Excellent food and service. Really appreciated open table diner service. I had to get Thanksgiving Reservations on Thanksgiving Day. (Good luck with that) Googled Inns in my area, Cedar Hollow came up, used your service to make reservation, (didn't have to even call the place)received confirmation through e-mail, I can't tell you how nice it was. thank-you! It made a stressful situation less tense, took alot of pressure off and so set the table for a nice relaxing enjoyable experience.
Excellent food and service. Despite sitting in the front room, near the bar, it wasn't too noisy at all. Will definitely dine there again.
Had not eaten here for a few years, because my office relocated. Still has very good food with a nice variety of entrees to choose from. Their was four of us and the others had never been there, everyone said it was very good and that we will be going back again.
Loved the food especially the assortment of seafood. We had the scallops and marlin. Both were cooked to prefection!
Wonderful gem off the beaten path, but still convenient to visit. Interesting and varied menu offering sandwiches and entrees all at reasonable prices. And the ambience can't be beat.
A little disappointed with the meal. Steak sandwich served with cheese & horseradish. Didn't have a copy of the menu, but didn't believe it included either. Also the meat was very grisly.
We had a food alergy guest along & all was done to provide a nice meal...well done!0
Also, we requested the veranda seating but upon arrival were told only available was the back dining room. Should have been candid upfront.
Hope our experience helps.
Enjoyed the glass porch view for our table of two. Spinach salad and blue cheese wedge were both great salads at modest cost as side dish to our entrees. Lobster ravioli was very good along with the red snapper. Portion sizes were moderate. Really enjoyed the dessert of peanut butter chocolate pie. Service was timely and attentive.
Would go back again. Liked the 4 separte rooms as each had different vibe. The bar seemed nice and cozy with good ambiance.
We came for my husband's birthday with my brother and sister-in-law. The food is spectacular and our waitress was wonderful. We will definitely be back.
Consistently very good food and the porch is a great place to dine. This time, both my mushroom bisque and my wife's squash soup were terrific. They were followed by tasty lobster ravioli and a great pork dish. Service was friendly and attentive.
We have been to Cedar Hollow many times over the past 10 years. Never had a bad experience! We have brought others that always enjoyed their meal and the atmosphere!!
Always have a very good meal here, and look forward to our return...Bob
The Cedar Hollow Inn has a rustic charm. We ate on the sun porch, which was quiet and a nice place to watch twilight set in. The house wine was good, and our entries were tastey. My seafood pasta was infused with a little mint- an interesting combination that I'd not experienced before. This was our first time there, but I'm interested in going back and trying more of their entres.
We eat at Cedar Hollow often. Nice, casual atmosphere, lovely porch, and consistently good, unpretentious, well-presented cuisine, with attentive service.
We had a wonderful family meal for lunch on Sunday. Service was excellent and attentive. Food was fantastic. We will be back.
My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times and the food is consistently good. The wild mushroom soup was rich and full of flavor. The prime rib was cooked exactly the way I like it and was tasty and tender. The only problem on this visit was the noise. The people at the next table were having an argument. My wife said it sounded like a breakup dinner. THe people at table behind us were overly loud. One reason we go to Cedar Hollow is the atmosphere, especially when we need to relax after a stressful week. Overall, it's good value, just hope that nobody ruins a quiet or romantic evening
Very disappointing in every regard.
Had requested facilitated service for a theater curtain as our previous poor service experiences at CH had caused us to be late. Instead they assigned a brand new waitress who had little knowledge of the menu and disappeared frequently for extended periods. Dinner exceeded 2 hours.
At least the food was good in the past. Not so this visit. Either they have a new chef or he was having a very bad day. They have changed the menu and the fish entree was about 3 oz of dry, white, tasteless, unappetizing looking, unidentifiable sea food that was less than 3/8" thick with skin attached. This in spite of my request to cook it medium rare. The rest of the entree was equally bland, colorless and tasteless.
Server was inept when asked regarding a menu item we were tpld "I don't know as I am a vegetarian." = Returned my food as the meat was inedible.I told her to advise Chef - No word from kitchen.
Would not advise ANYONE to try this place.
Neighborhood gem. We love it for a special lunch, great location. People are friendly and helpful with making suggestions from the menu.
What a surprise! Don't let the road detours deter you. I found this online as a midway point to meet some traveling friends, and will go back and recommend it. We ordered two apps, four entrees and two desserts for our party of four and everything was excellent. And delivered hot, looking good, all together and at the right time. The light fare side of the menu is outstanding. It isn't rabbit food - just right-sized portions of very fine creations.
Everything about the Cedar Hollow Inn lends itself to a great dining experience. A seat on the closed-in porch makes it more so, especially for special occasions. A regular and light-fare menu are featured making it family friendly as well. Broad range of seating areas and fair pricing. Have been to the Inn several times despite its out-of-the-way location which adds a bit of charm to the dining experience.
Great mushroom bisque, very nice seafood pasta and excellent lobster ravioli including a small lobster tail, all served nicely by Angela on their delightful porch looking out over an area of mixed perennials and annuals. Lovely!
Cedar Hollow is a great little place for lunch that will take you away from Route 30 if you're in the Great Valley Corporate Center. The Ceasar Salad is my all time favorite! Once the staff gets to know you, it's like going home for lunch!
I've been to Cedar Hollow Inn several times for lunch, but this was the first time I had dinner there. We all ordered fish entrees and each was cooked to perfection, not rubbery or dry. We did, however, have one person in our group with mobility limitations, so it would have been nice to have regular-height tables in the first room so that he didn't have to navigate through so far to get to our table.
I stated I would recommend Cedar Hollow , but with the some reservations about the dishes we had: the bass and the grilled shrimp with couscous. Neither my husband nor I would order the same meals if we go there again; bass was dry and the shrimp dish was a bit bland; neither meal was special.
I am not one to write reviews but I feel compelled after our recent experience on Mother's Day. We we were greeted pleasantly and seated promptly. The menu was appetizing. Unfortunately the experience went quickly downhill. If you chosse to go to the Cedar Hollow Inn, do what you can to avoid being served by "Lois". She had a miserable, scowling attitude....behaved as if she was doing us a favor by bringing some bread after waiting 25 minutes for something to eat after ordering. When the food arrived the quiche (ordered by several in our party) was served literally frozen on the inside. Omelettes were good. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt....Mother's Day, maybe they were more crowded than usual...but they weren't.
It was amazing! Our waitress was so nice! It was one of the best meals I have had in a while!! Can't wait to go back!
Cedar Hollow is consistently very good and dining on the enclosed porch is always quite pleasant, especially with all the flowers in bloom along the length of the windows. My only real quibble was that my beef short ribs, while tasty, were indeed "short" by portion size! Our waitress was very accommodating in switching vegetable accompaniments for us.
Very good place. Will definitly go again.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice decor and comfortable atmosphere. Mostly casual fare with a few fancier alternatives.
Although I've had several wonderful meals here in the past, this wasn't my favorite experience here. The good was just average and there was a long delay getting entrees for our party of two although a party of 8 seated next to us got their entrees first. I would have minded had there been some communication from the waitress. Overall, this place us terrific. I think we just had an "off" night.
It's OK for a change of pace. Sandwiches are good and the drinks are a good size. Front porch tables are too close and uncomfortable. Lack of atmoshere in the main dining room but food and service are good.
The Cedar Hollow Inn has a very pleasant external look but inside is chopped up and dark except for the porch which has lots of sunshine making the temperature difficult to maintain. The food is excellent bar food and the service is prompt and polite. A good place for small groups to dine but not couples.
