Contemporary American
The Cedar Hollow Inn has been a local favorite for over 18 years. The building, which was built in the mid 1800's, lends an old-fashioned charm to an unpretentious atmosphere.

Chef Stephen Guiseppe of the Culinary Institute of America adds personal flair and imagination to a delectable menu of American Continental dishes. The daily Chef's Specials are creative and unpredictable, energetically inspired an hour or so before the menu is finalized.

Indulge yourself, family and friends to a casual fine dining experience in any of the three dining rooms, including an enclosed sun porch and a large bar area. Tucked away in the middle of everywhere, the Cedar Hollow offers an experience that keeps you coming back.

one of our favorite places for good casual dining. they are always welcoming. this was Easter and we had a choice of brunch or lunch. we ordered off both menus and all of our choices were very good -- especially the soup of the day which was a chowder.

The best-kept culinary secret in Chester County. My 'top-two restaurants' has become my 'top-three restaurants'. Yeah ... it's that good!

Nice Restaurant. Noise level was a bit loud on the porch since the open doorway to our seating area was directly across from the bar. You could every personal conversation. I imagine if there was live music instead, this would add to the overall ambiance. The food and service were excellent.

Quaint restaurant nestled away from traffic. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by a personable host. We passed a lively bar and were seated in the enclosed porch. Service was excellent and menu had traditional fare and some unusual. Great place to try.

Enjoyable veranda seating, delicious food and a personable, engaging server, Joe. I always start with the Wild Mushroom soup; my husband enjoys the oysters at a $1.00 each on Sunday. We always have a very good meal ay Cedar Hollow and appreciate that I can book the reservation on Open Table.

We had a very nice, very attentive waitress and the whole back room to ourselves.. The Caeser Salad was a little boring but topped off with a delicious piece of blackened salmon. I basically just ate the salmon - but my daughter tried it and loved the dressing which I believe was homemade. I would go back again.

Hostess graciously seated us away from a loud, large party and the front porch area was excellent. Menu is varied and competitively priced. The food arrived at a comfortable pace and the waiter was attentive but not intrusive. They could be more specific about which wines on their menu are excluded from their Tuesday 1/2 price offer.

It was a pleasurable experience dining for lunch in the enclosed front porch with the bright sunlight streaming in. The grilled shrimp on a bed of rice with an avocado salsa was tasty and just the right portion size. I love my food piping hot - the dish came out only warm to hot, but was still quite good. I'd order it again. The sounds on the porch bounce around and when the table near us left, the noise came to a medium level. Lunch prices are reasonable and provide good value.

Four diners and only two of us enjoyed our meals :(. The red snapper was extremely fishy tasting (I know it's fish, but...) and the salmon didn't completely match the menu description - it was in a full dish of broth - more like soup with a chunk of salmon in it. My hangar steak was outstanding as was my husbands duck. Still will go back.

I'm always happy with the food and service. I don't like being seated in the front room, it's always loud, usually very warm, and is such a small room I feel too close to other diners.

I've eaten here before and had a very pleasant experience. This time however was a disappointment. Yes we were greeted very nicely and shown to our table. The restaurant was very busy and it took some time before our server approached us. She was very cordial and attentive but I saw that she had quite a few large tables to attend to, it was lunchtime. She was overbooked! It took some time, 20 minutes, just to place our order. By the time we (5) had received our lunch platters, we had spent 40 minutes of our lunch hour. We ate our meals quickly and didn't have time for desert. From beginning to end we spent at least an hour and a half in the establishment. In times gone by we were in and out, back at work, within our allotted lunch hour.
I ordered the mushroom soup which was amazing, and my friend and I ordered the lunch special Fish & Chips. The fish was very greasy and very over-cooked, neither of us would order that again. The others ordered salads, wraps, and catfish. Salads were very good, the wrap was yummy, but the catfish was also disappointing, my friend said.
Since this was not the first time we have been to this restaurant, we knew they could do better.
I did see a 'Servers Wanted' sign in the window, so it was probably just understaffed that day.

Recently ate at Cedar Hollow Inn with my team while on business travel. We were all pleased with the charming location, friendly & attentive service staff and the delicious food! Everything I tried - the Fig Flatbreads, Cheese Plate, Spinach Dip, Salmon BLT and Chocolate Mousse Cake - was top notch, but some of my fellow diners had a few (very minor) issues with their orders, which kept me to giving only four stars. We sat in the dining room, but the bar looked like a warm and friendly place as we passed through. If I was a local, I would definitely make Cedar Hollow Inn one of my go-to dinner spots!

We were so disappointed with our Saturday night dinner at Cedar Hollow. I have been to Cedar Hollow twice before (4 or 5 years ago) and our guests have been there more regularly. My wife has never been to Cedar Hollow, so this was our special treat to take her to Cedar Hollow. We made a 7pm reservation thru Open Table and all times around that reservation were open as well. We arrived at Cedar Hollow at 6:55pm and the hostess greeted us and told us that they had an incredible volume of business so we might have a 10 minute wait. The party at "our table" was ordering dessert, and she guided us to the bar. We gladly went to the bar to have a drink, that we paid for. Twenty minutes later, the hostess came to the bar and offered us an open high-top table in the "ante-room" area of the building (a converted waiting room/coat room area, LOUD, NO ambience, and next to the front door). We politely declined and said that we would wait for "our table." Seventeen minutes later (32 minutes after reservation time), the hostess brought us from the bar to the restaurant and seated us next to a couple with a 4-month old baby, that we saw in the bar, who had been seated prior to us. While the baby cried every 15 minutes, we enjoyed the calamari and fig and cheese apps. The problem was that the SATURDAY DAILY SPECIAL PRIME RIB was a HORRIBLE CUT of MEAT, full of NON-CHEWABLE GRISSLE, COVERED WITH HORSERADISH SAUCE TO HIDE THE GRISSLE AND OVER COOKED - THE WAITER SAID MED-RARE, WE DID, IT WAS MEDIUM WELL. A COUPLE NEXT TO US SENT THEIR STEAK BACK FOR NOT BEING RARE. I'm laid-back, if the daily special is sold-out, just tell me and I'll order something else. I could not believe that a restaurant where they put the chef's name on the menu, they would serve a piece of "SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL PRIME RIB" that does not approach a prime rib cut. I left 30% of the served meat, filled with grissle, that I pulled out of my mouth and could not chew, on my plate. Ugh! Really!

Friendly knowledgeable server set the tone for a very pleasant dining experience.
Not a very busy night so noise level was at a minimum
Food outstanding. For a good winter meal try the short ribs. Deserts baked in house and delicious.
Try Cedar Hollow Inn, you won’t be disappointed.

It was a very busy Saturday night! The parking lot was packed. We had to wait to find the hostess. We got seated in tight quarters. Rather noisy. The food and the service were great. Great menu and presentation. A nice mix of selections and specials. Live music was playing in the bar area which was packed. Overall a great experience.

CHI was the perfect choice for my annual lunch with a dear friend living abroad. We sat in the enclosed porch, which was lovely. Our server was friendly and attentive. We each had cheesesteaks, which were generous and delicious. Highly recommend, have been here several times and never disappointed. Great whether it's ladies lunch, date night, or just hangin' at the bar.
