We have been several times. The food is always consistent. It is a little place, which gives it a quaint, quiet feel.
Excellent lunch today!!! Nice Chianti suggestion! Fresh Burrata, Warm n awesome bread, & Carbonara... best lunch!
Nice ambiance & friendly staff. Pleasure meeting the Bartender/Manager from Brazil. Very nice gentleman & the nice man from Ecuador.
Definitely will return.
Cozy delicious Italian food.
AWESOME! I just love coming to this place, I enjoy the food, the Manager, Marcello, who always treats us so well. And can't say enough about the food, absolutely love the Linguine & Clams.
Food was very good. Pasta was excellent and so was the berry salad. Manhattan cocktail was forgettable.
Food was decent. Service was VERY SLOW!
Felt like we were not welcome at this restaurant. No conversation at all other than while ordering. Had to get the attention of the bus boys several times to have them bring our waiter over. That includes for the check. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my wife had the ravioli. We also shared an order of sweet Italian sausage. The food was good but we won’t be returning to this restaurant due to their service.
Great experience for near theater dining. I had a hard time deciding among several choices. My young granddaughter had the pizza and it reminded me of pizza I have had in Italy. Highly recommend.
The was a very convenient restaurant to the theater district in NYC. The food was very pleasing and the service was right on. I will return to this restaurant.
Pre theater... good for gluten free options, attentive staff.
Full bar,not too noisy.
Only complaint would be we felt rushed even after asking not to be.
Great food, great ambiance, great service! Very authentic!
Wdnt here for a girls night out and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic and ample portions for the pric fixe menu. Salmon was perfectly seasoned in the lintel soup was out of this world. Sal is with the licious as well as chicken was moist and mouthwatering
Food was well proportioned and great taste. Hostess was pleasant. Restroom was clean. Kitchen visible ( which also appeared cleaned). We had a great birthday lunch and I would recommend it to anyone in the neighborhood.
We have eaten here many times and return for the food and service and enjoyment of being welcomed as if by family.
If you want good spirits (both types) wonderful home style cooking and proximity to the theater district, come and visit Marcelo at Ceci's...
If you are going to the RoundAbout Theater ½ block away, mention it for a 'Theater Discount.'
The food was fantastic!!
Great food and great place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
We chose this restaurant because it was two blocks from the theatre we were going to. We cannot say enough good things about this gem! The service was fantastic - so many different folks attending to every need, server was pleasant and prompt. She was never gone too long. The menu choices were plentiful, and absolutely delicious. When we return to NYC next, this will likely be location we will return to. It's small and cozy, with great ambiance. Please give it a try, you will not be disappointed!
We had a wonderful time at Ceci. There were so many gluten free options for my husband he was very happy. They also brought gluten free bread to the table for him. It was a wonderful place to grab dinner before a broadway show.
The gluten free options were amazing! The food portions were great for almost everything and the flavor was to die for. We are very impressed.
Expensive and food is not great. Calamari was overcooked, again overpriced and with poor service.
Had to find a place for a daughter with celiac and food for us and Ceci’s was PERFECT!! 95% of the menu could be made celiac-friendly, she got her own basket of gluten free bread and the food for us was great. Try the fried mozzarella, the veal, the spaghetti with meatballs, the cannoli... all delicious. Our servers were excellent as well.
Great food nice place but service is so expeditive it make you feel like they want you out fast even if the place had plenty of available tables. They fill your glass of wine after every sip. Waiter takes away your plate while you still have your fork in your hand. If you go there with children it is ok to be done quickly but 2 adults with a bottle of wine should be able to relax a little bit, not be done in 50 minutes.
This was a great place to eat before the theatre. Food was good. Service excellent.
Not a proper Italian experience
Food was good. Mozzarella and tomatoes for appetizer was good but nothing special. Three bus had pasta, also good. Salmon was not flavored well. Restaurant charges for refills of soda and iced tea.
Great find right in the heart of the busy theater district. Staff was friendly and efficient. Food was hot and delicious. Definitely will be back!
Great service and gluten free choices The food was delicious. Really enjoyed the dinner. Would definitely go back.
I picked Ceci as a Midtown restaurant with reasonable prices. It met my expectations in all respects except service. Waitstaff was inattentive; every request was a struggle to get the staff to notice me. Long wait for check at the end. This was NOT due to a crush of business; it was early evening, and only a few tables were occupied. Other than the service issues, everything else was fine; nice atmosphere and good food. A little bit more attention, and this place could be a real go-to find for pre-theater or midtown trips.
Good food and clean
I especially liked that they gave you clean silverware after each course
My fillet of sole was outstanding and worth going back for. The pear salad was also really great but expensive for an appetizer size salad. My friend had the gnocchi with broccoli rabe and a Italian sausage and the sausage was a disappointment though the rest of the dish was good.
Wife and I were visiting NYC for anniversary, looked on Open Table for Italian restaurant to enjoy prior to theater. Selected Ceci and were very satisfied. Waiter was very accommodating, assisted with selections. Enjoyed calamari with marinara sauce for appetizer. Marinara was so good we ordered extra cups of sauce for the calamari and for dipping bread. Entrees were very good, as was wine selection. All for a reasonable price. Great location in theater district allowed us to easily make show on time.
Excellent food and service. If you have a big appetite I
Suggest an appetizer since portion sizes are moderate.
OUTSTANDING! As always, the food, the service, wonderful. I love coming here with friends or colleagues for great Italian food.
I love this Italian restaurant. There are MANY Italian restaurants in NYC and I've tried MANY of them but this one is one of my favorites. And, LOVE the cannoli's!!!
Always wonderful! We love going to Ceci for any occasion.
My wife and I were looking for a place to eat with a good selection of gluten free options. That is just what we found . The restaurant is not formal but has a nice ambiance with friendly service. The owner greeted us and the server was very pleasant and attentive. Reasonably priced and the food was very good. Our only complaint would be the bathrooms, my wife said they could use a little attention. Other than that we had a great time and would return.
Great food and service. Will be back soon !!!
We had a large group & they were easily able to accommodate each guest. The food is absolutely delicious.
It was an okay spot, food was pretty good, waiter was nice and did a good job. Place was a bit empty but it was Tuesday at 7:30 and basically right in the heart of theater district in midtown. Considering other options like very delicious but very expensive restaurants and more casual QSR/Chipotle, this place ranks in the upper-middle tier for its' neighborhood. The best of its' kind near here I think are spots like Rosie O'Grady's and Stagecoach, but this place is not too far behind.
