I love this Italian restaurant. There are MANY Italian restaurants in NYC and I've tried MANY of them but this one is one of my favorites. And, LOVE the cannoli's!!!
Always wonderful! We love going to Ceci for any occasion.
My wife and I were looking for a place to eat with a good selection of gluten free options. That is just what we found . The restaurant is not formal but has a nice ambiance with friendly service. The owner greeted us and the server was very pleasant and attentive. Reasonably priced and the food was very good. Our only complaint would be the bathrooms, my wife said they could use a little attention. Other than that we had a great time and would return.
Great food and service. Will be back soon !!!
We had a large group & they were easily able to accommodate each guest. The food is absolutely delicious.
It was an okay spot, food was pretty good, waiter was nice and did a good job. Place was a bit empty but it was Tuesday at 7:30 and basically right in the heart of theater district in midtown. Considering other options like very delicious but very expensive restaurants and more casual QSR/Chipotle, this place ranks in the upper-middle tier for its' neighborhood. The best of its' kind near here I think are spots like Rosie O'Grady's and Stagecoach, but this place is not too far behind.
Service was good, price was very reasonable and the quality, presentation of food was very good...overall a definite revisit.
Great Italian food in NYC at a very reasonable price, will definitely be back!!
Great location! I enjoyed my white pizza. Had fried mozzarella and found the marinara very bland. The ambiance was nice & service attentive.
If the marinara was punched up s bit this would be a great find!
Filthy restroom. No free refills on soda.
Very authentic. Gluten free options as well, which were fantastic!
Food was excellent!! The stuffed pasta dish was amazing - never had anything like it. Service was good and prices were moderate!
Sauces are authentic. The pasta with anchovies, olives and capers is my all time favorite.
Second visit to this great little Italian restaurant. Perfect in every way. Food excellent, great service. Relaxed and not rushed. Truly enjoyable.
It was just a regular date night out with my boyfriend. The food was really good, true Italian food! I enjoyed the ambiance at the place. I would definitely go again!
The food was excellent, however had no atmosphere at all which was probably due to unfriendly staff and service- particularly the manager, would have stayed longer and spent more money if it had not been for this.
Went here bc my daughter has Celiac. They were very knowledgeable regarding gluten free and even made two small loaves of gf bread for her. No dedicated fryer so fries were not safe for Celiacs but most menu items could be made gf. Salads had gf croutons and she had the steak w a side of gf pasta. All very good. All other meals were very good.
Those of you who may recognize my name know that Ceci's is a frequent of ours and that we enjoy the food and service very much. As I have said before, many times, when we are going to the theater or shopping west of Broadway, Ceci's is our place of choice to enjoy a wonderful meal among a wait staff and ownership that have become almost family to us and our friends.
Also, don't forget to show your host, Marcelo, your RoundAboutTheater tickets for a discount on your meals, although we often go without the theater as a reason, without the discount and all of the enjoyment is still there.
I was hoping for great or at least semi-great Italian food. My spaghetti carbonara was missing the peas and the bacon was mushy. I had an iced tea and was never offered a refill. With all of the other Italian places in NYC I will not be back.
Also, that bathroom was gross, not clean at all and a super gross an dirty urinal
Loved my experience! Our server realized two out of the three in our party were gluten free. He brought over gluten-free bread and made sure our pizzas were cooked on special pans to eliminate cross-contamination. Very impressed!
okay for pre-theater but not great. handy for roundabout
This place consistently has fantastic food and service.
We went to Ceci before seeing The Lion King (with 3 teenagers) on a Friday night... located very close to the theater. Made a reservation and sat right down. We all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meals tremendously. Service was great and we had more than enough time to get to the show. I would definitely go back if I was in the city again.
We were there to spend a lot of money and have a great night yet halfway through our meal we saw our server leave and slowly but surely they began to close the restaurant up around us without ever giving us a last call or notifying us that they were trying to get us to leave until they actually turned the music off and began raising the lights and we had to ask them point blank if they were trying to make us leave. Mind you, this all happened more than 30 minutes before their listed closing time online and we still intended to get dessert and another round or two of drinks. They never mentioned they were closing early and they did not communicate at all and when we were displeased they were nonresponsive. Terrible service and mediocre food for too high of a price point. Definitely will recommend people not come here!
Unfortunately I was looking for pizza close to my hotel and when I searched through the Open Table App, Ceci popped up. I looked at the menu and yes they had homemade pizza on the menu and the pics looked good. It was a miserable evening of rain, but I decided not to stay in and keep my reservation. When I got there and was promptly seated, I got the menu and ordered a glass of wine. Mysteriously, no pizza at all on the menu. I was confused. So when the waiter walked by again I inquired and he said oh they ran out of pizza. It was a Saturday night granted, but nobody was in the restaurant. And I found it curious that no pizza was on the menu at all. I felt duped, so I kindly paid for my wine and went out into the rain to find another destination. Using Yelp, I found a restaurant right across the street who had delicious brick over personal pizzas. Delicious. Too bad Ceci did not have the same. By the way, not one apology, better explanation, etc. Frankly they seemed happy I was leaving. Maybe they all wanted to go home.
Great food and GLUTEN FREE PASTA! So so so yummy! Also GF warm bread for a starter with olive oil which was such a treat!
The gluten free ravioli was amazing and the sorbet for dessert was perfectly presented. You will not be disappointed here.
The food was very good and the service was outstanding. Reasonable prices.
Great Gluten Free options!! Incredible, really. I had the Gluten Free ravioli (was great) and they also brought GF bread to the table (along with regular). My husband and son also enjoyed their meals. Restaurant was very hot, which was strange - but it seemed to cool down as the meal went on. Went after taking in a show, and were dressed very casually (jeans).
Ceci was a great find in the theater district. Well-repaired and presented food that we all (7 of us) found to be quite tasty - nicely cooked, delicious sauces, good portion sizes. Service was very attentive (picked up on my allergy to gluten and brought GF bread to the table, unprompted, as well as a drink menu). Would definitely recommend!
Dinner was served quickly and hot! The service was excellent and friendly. Drinks and dinners were reasonably priced.
Really good food. Nice service
Went there with friends, really enjoyed it. We had reservation at 10pm, so it was really quiet at this time of a day (although it was Friday night ). The food was good, the services very nice. We stayed past closing time, but weren't rushed at all. Very cozy, very friendly place. Definitely coming back.
My sister and I went to Ceci Italian Restaurant prior to seeing Springsteen on Broadway and had a wonderful experience. Had a nice table in front of the window and ordered a drink and a nice basket of bread was served. We both decided to pick from the price fixe dinner . We chose a salad , which was nicely presented in a cucumber wrap and was excellent. We both had eggplant parmesan which was also excellent and had another drink. I had the tiramisu for dessert and she chose the NY style cheesecake. Both were very good also. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and would highly recommend Ceci Italian Restaurant.
very nice place to have a quiet dinner, very good food and service, price is fare and nice portions.
This is now my go-to pre/post theater restaurant. They paid attention to special dietary concerns. The meal was delicious. I had chicken with grilled vegetables and it was perfect.
Ceci was fine - A good price for the pre-matinee Express lunch. Great hot bread and good olive oil for starters. Our main complaint was the service. Everyone was nice and friendly, but they kept clearing plates as each person finished instead of waiting till both of us were done with the course. A big no-no as it puts pressure on the person who hasn't finished yet.
Very nice. Wonderful oven-fresh bread! (Why is OT making me add more chars to this review?)
It was a nice place with nice service.
Went after seeing Phantom of the Opera and it was okay, but probably won't be going back. Pretty reasonably priced entrees for the area, but things like $6.50 for soft drinks without free refills and overpriced appetizers add up pretty quickly. Overall I didnt think it was worth what we paid hence the two stars for value. Seating felt more like a diner than a restaurant and it's a pretty small place. Staff was friendly and attentive.
