Cecconi's Ratings and Reviews
Very noisy, active bar scene, service kept us there for two hours.we are seated soon after arriving for an 8:30 reservation, but not terribly happy with the table, near the bar. Placed in a doorway facing out onto the patio area.. I am sure we could have requested something else, but it was acceptable. service was not terribly attentive, but it was a very busy night. This is probably best for hipsters making the scene who can spend sufficient money, but I have passed that age where food quality and good, attentive service are what I want for $125. dinner for two. I would go back for the food, but I have aged out of the "scene." There are plenty of high quality Italian restaurants in L.A. without feeling like I don't belong there.
Overrated and overpriced standard Italian fare.
Cocktails and wines lacked anything exceptional.
Service by server and bus staff was impeccable thank you.
4 courses for 4 people - @ $140 a head for standard fares and still hungry is not a good value. Better menu variety and prep- kewl atmosphere and service and value down the street at The Catch.
Won’t return here . Just better value and quality elsewhere
Treated my bestie for her birthday dinner last Tuesday night. Everything was fine. Ambiance was nice. Got the bill and was shocked that the fish special was $65. The birthday girl said it was ok not great. :( The waitress should have warned us of the price because I was not going to ask since it was a special occasion. Not worth it since it got an “ok” response. The dessert was amazing though and my chicken paillard was yummy.
Went for thanksgiving. Turkey was dry, stuffing was like powder.
Mashed potatoes and veggies were booth good. Very disappointing. The price advertised was just under 50. They charged more than 75. Honestly I've had better thanksgiving dinner at Denny's. Very sad very dishonest.
We’ve been to the restaurant many times and went there for Thanksgiving because our daughter lives in the neighborhood, as do friends.
The Thanksgiving menu, sad to say, was pretty bad. Dried out turkey, stuffing like sawdust. The only good items were on the dessert platter.
I’m not sure what happened that day but our whole table agreed we should have eaten at home.
I was hedging when I booked this table because when I dined here a few years ago I wasn’t that impressed. Well after 4 years it only got a little better. Service was good but not great. The food was good but not great. The one hostess was sweet and the other looked like she was mad at the world. I don’t mind that but when working as a hostess in a restaurant, pretend to be jovial for God’s sake! After all this is LA lol
Great food, super friendly service; would recommend. The Sunday night magician was excellent....
Only complaint is that we waited for an hour for our mains to arrive with no delay communication/ complimentary bread to hold us over. Also, I got a little sick from the indoor gas heaters so would ask for a different table next time.
Overall it is good been going there many times, the blonde lady server
Was impolite or at least did not follow the protocol
3 ladies she put 3 wine glass and ignored me the only gentleman at the table I had to ask for a glass
Then she gave one of the girl to taste the wine without offering me that first ,I guess that server was not trained correctly
The excellent food was the only redeeming quality of this restaurant. Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation - any reputable establishment would have comped drinks at the bar, but we were just shooed away and told to wait. We went to the bar, ordered drinks, tried to pay our tab but the bartender kept ignoring the credit card sitting on top of the bill. The hostess then came over to seat us and was annoyed with us that we couldn't follow her to our table - I'm sorry, sweetie, but maybe your bartender could pay attention and close out our tab?
Then they tried to sit us at a table literally in the bar with people standing right behind us and bumping into our chairs and backs - not only a huge annoyance, but it was incredibly loud. They huffed and puffed when I asked to be seated elsewhere. They made us wait longer, then brought us over to another area of the restaurant where there were multiple empty tables - seriously??? The waitress was absolutely terrible - we had to ask every time we wanted refills on our water, she inconsistently poured our bottle of wine (we were left multiple times with empty glasses waiting for her), we had to ask her about specials - she never smiled and had quite an attitude. She barely visited our table then passed us off to another waiter later in the evening, who also basically forgot about us.
Again, the food was terrific - we each ordered apps, entrees, a bottle of wine, dessert - but will probably not return because of the abysmal way we were treated by the entire staff.
Very busy at lunch; our server got both our orders wrong - maybe he was having a bad day or was just too busy. My friend (who thankfully was treating me) ordered pasta with truffles that cost over $100 per small plate of pasta, so for that kind of price, they really need to be on top of their game. And on this day they were not. We waited for quite a while for our correct food orders to arrive. The manager and the waiter apologized, but still... Not sure I can recommend it to others.
