Cecconi's Ratings and Reviews
We come in a lot, and totally understand the restaurant can get loud and busy, but we had a terrible dining experience this past Saturday. First off, we were sat next to the bar. the bar was packed, so not a great table, but we get it, it's a busy Saturday night. However, midway through appetizers, the bar became so unruly that people were constantly butting up into our table. a big group of rowdy guys that stunk of cigarettes were doing shots and pushing against us while we tried to have dinner. We finally asked the server if he could do something, but he didn't. that in and of itself would have ruined the evening. But then you were out of bread sticks. No one offered fresh pepper or parmesan cheese...we finally had to ask for some and a busboy brought us some measly Sargento crubmles. You were out of the exciter wine we ordered and instead of suggesting something comparable, the Sommelier (who could never be found, and when we did see him, he was taking selfies) upsold us something more expensive. We wanted a 2nd bottle with dinner (albeit something much more expensive), but you couldn't get you act together to get the wine to us until we had already finished eating dinner, so we cancelled it (guess you didn't need the Amarone sale that night). The poor server did the best he could under the circumstances and we don't blame him at all, but it should have been a better dining experience for what it costs to eat there. So many great Italian restaurants in LA with better ambiance and service that will get our money next time.
Honestly the worst experience of my life and that’s no joke! I took my daughter who is 12 years old for a special occasion. I hyped this place up to her since I am very familiar with who ownes it and their other establishments (SoHo House.) I wanted to treat her like a princes and take her somewhere special, which ended up making us feel less that important and even out of place like we shouldn’t be there. Arrived and was seated by the hostess who was pleasant. But then after waiting for 20 minutes (was not busy several tables open) with waiters passing us several times with no acknowledgement. I made my way back to the hostess and asked if we had a waiter. She clearly was embarrassed that this was happening. She went to go talk to a manager, both were standing close to my daughter and I and I could here the manager giving no care in the world about what was going on. We got up and left feeling embarrassed and hungry. We made the 40 minute drive home as everywhere else in the area was booked on a Saturday night. Made what should have been a special night for my little girl into a horrible night! P.S. This is my first time to leave a review on any site. That should tell you something!
We were visiting LA from Atlanta to attend the Rose Bowl game. We wanted to dine at a "happening" Hollywood restaurant and got exactly what we were looking for at Cecconi's. The service was outstanding. We enjoyed the tuna and steak tartare along with several other small plates. The wine list is extensive enough to find a great bottle without breaking the bank.
The atmosphere isn't quiet but not over-the-top loud. We enjoyed meeting some friendly people at adjacent tables which made the night all the more interesting.
If I lived near Hollywood, I'm sure Cecconi's would be on my list of favorite restaurants. I hope we have the opportunity to visit there again soon.
Very noisy, active bar scene, service kept us there for two hours.we are seated soon after arriving for an 8:30 reservation, but not terribly happy with the table, near the bar. Placed in a doorway facing out onto the patio area.. I am sure we could have requested something else, but it was acceptable. service was not terribly attentive, but it was a very busy night. This is probably best for hipsters making the scene who can spend sufficient money, but I have passed that age where food quality and good, attentive service are what I want for $125. dinner for two. I would go back for the food, but I have aged out of the "scene." There are plenty of high quality Italian restaurants in L.A. without feeling like I don't belong there.
Overrated and overpriced standard Italian fare.
Cocktails and wines lacked anything exceptional.
Service by server and bus staff was impeccable thank you.
4 courses for 4 people - @ $140 a head for standard fares and still hungry is not a good value. Better menu variety and prep- kewl atmosphere and service and value down the street at The Catch.
Won’t return here . Just better value and quality elsewhere
Treated my bestie for her birthday dinner last Tuesday night. Everything was fine. Ambiance was nice. Got the bill and was shocked that the fish special was $65. The birthday girl said it was ok not great. :( The waitress should have warned us of the price because I was not going to ask since it was a special occasion. Not worth it since it got an “ok” response. The dessert was amazing though and my chicken paillard was yummy.
Went for thanksgiving. Turkey was dry, stuffing was like powder.
Mashed potatoes and veggies were booth good. Very disappointing. The price advertised was just under 50. They charged more than 75. Honestly I've had better thanksgiving dinner at Denny's. Very sad very dishonest.
We’ve been to the restaurant many times and went there for Thanksgiving because our daughter lives in the neighborhood, as do friends.
The Thanksgiving menu, sad to say, was pretty bad. Dried out turkey, stuffing like sawdust. The only good items were on the dessert platter.
I’m not sure what happened that day but our whole table agreed we should have eaten at home.
I was hedging when I booked this table because when I dined here a few years ago I wasn’t that impressed. Well after 4 years it only got a little better. Service was good but not great. The food was good but not great. The one hostess was sweet and the other looked like she was mad at the world. I don’t mind that but when working as a hostess in a restaurant, pretend to be jovial for God’s sake! After all this is LA lol
