Cecconi's Ratings and Reviews
Overall it is good been going there many times, the blonde lady server
Was impolite or at least did not follow the protocol
3 ladies she put 3 wine glass and ignored me the only gentleman at the table I had to ask for a glass
Then she gave one of the girl to taste the wine without offering me that first ,I guess that server was not trained correctly
The excellent food was the only redeeming quality of this restaurant. Our table was not ready at the time of our reservation - any reputable establishment would have comped drinks at the bar, but we were just shooed away and told to wait. We went to the bar, ordered drinks, tried to pay our tab but the bartender kept ignoring the credit card sitting on top of the bill. The hostess then came over to seat us and was annoyed with us that we couldn't follow her to our table - I'm sorry, sweetie, but maybe your bartender could pay attention and close out our tab?
Then they tried to sit us at a table literally in the bar with people standing right behind us and bumping into our chairs and backs - not only a huge annoyance, but it was incredibly loud. They huffed and puffed when I asked to be seated elsewhere. They made us wait longer, then brought us over to another area of the restaurant where there were multiple empty tables - seriously??? The waitress was absolutely terrible - we had to ask every time we wanted refills on our water, she inconsistently poured our bottle of wine (we were left multiple times with empty glasses waiting for her), we had to ask her about specials - she never smiled and had quite an attitude. She barely visited our table then passed us off to another waiter later in the evening, who also basically forgot about us.
Again, the food was terrific - we each ordered apps, entrees, a bottle of wine, dessert - but will probably not return because of the abysmal way we were treated by the entire staff.
Very busy at lunch; our server got both our orders wrong - maybe he was having a bad day or was just too busy. My friend (who thankfully was treating me) ordered pasta with truffles that cost over $100 per small plate of pasta, so for that kind of price, they really need to be on top of their game. And on this day they were not. We waited for quite a while for our correct food orders to arrive. The manager and the waiter apologized, but still... Not sure I can recommend it to others.
We love Cecconi’s , and being longtime residents of WEHO , we have been patronizing them from the very start . In a “ sea of Italian Restaurants “ , in the vast metropolis that LA IS , Cecconi’s stands out for a number of reasons . As excellent as the food is , I believe the service provided is amongst the very top tier in this city , as busy and frenetic as it may get here on many evenings . One can choose a quieter time as well , a late lunch or perhaps a relaxing Sunday Brunch , away from the “ scene seekers “, and when it is more peaceful . But truly , this restaurant delivers it all , to all , and in spite of its popularity among the many celebrities in this city , they take the extra steps to make everyone feel special. In my mind this is known as deferential service , with pleasing smiles , always with great recommendations , and always with concern for the guests well being and satisfaction , and in the European style , the servers know how not to be intrusive , as is so common in this city . The “ experience “ is all superb , and served in an elegant but relaxed atmosphere . In my opinion this is The best Italian restaurant in Los Angeles .
The restaurant is so dark you need the torch on your phone to read the menu - which is ridiculous what are they hiding? The seating is all wrong, we were jammed between two tables, literally. As it was just the two of us we would have happily eaten at the bar but again the dull lighting did not make this inviting nor did the number of guys with baseball caps. Why allow this in such a nice place? I think Cecconis cannot make up its mind if it is a fine dining restaurant or a family restaurant and so tries to cater to both which doesn't work as you upset those who are paying a lot and are not eating your pizza but your $100 truffle risotto. The food and service are good but very few are professionally trained.
We were there for an early happy hour to discuss something work-related. I had Eastern Standard and their truffle burger (I normally don't eat burger, but love it here). It was relatively quiet because we were there between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m. I have been there for Sunday brunch and dinner at other times. It's a neighborhood gem!
I love the food at Cecconis. The lobster spaghetti, bolognese, black truffle pizza, beef tartare...and the tiramisu - all favorites of mine. But the service on this visit was so impossibly slow. Waited 20 minutes for our waitress to return at one point. Empty plates left on the table for even longer with plenty of staff walking by and not clearing the table. Bathroom was out of paper towels so there was no way to dry my hands. Had to wait 15 minutes for my reservation (this happens every time) despite 4 or 5 tables being open in our vicinity. Again, I love the food...but each time I come, the service gets worse.
The waiter was really inpatient
Took I'm 40 min to serve us each dish and that was pretty Annoying and very ridiculous for this kind of restaurant I come there every week and I never had such a problem like that specially not with people that are very important and came out of the city to meet with us
So please make sure one of the managers give me a call back to make for it.
I sent message that I am celebrating my brother birthday. The food service was so slow that we were there almost from 3:30 pm and checked out at 5:15 pm... I was asking for the desert and I said please quickly that my brother had to leave .. I ordered trammisu at 4:15 and I found out the waiter is asking me at 4:45 if my order is tramisu or something else... the tramisu arrived finally at 5:05 pm when my brother left by 5:00 pm because he had an appointment. I was so stressed that I didn't want to tip the worst experience for me but I had given the minimum. I don't advice this resturant for celebration of any event.
The food was great.
