About CBD Provisions

CBD Provisions is a Modern Texas Brasserie located in the heart of historic downtown Dallas adjacent to The Joule. The restaurant celebrates the natural bounty and culinary traditions of Texas with a contemporary point of view, a commitment to local and sustainable sourcing, and a passion for making things in house with expert technique and superb ingredients. The cocktail program – created and overseen by acclaimed bartenders Chad Solomon and Christy Pope – features updated classics with a regional spirit, while the wine list emphasizes outstanding small producers from Texas, California and France. Fittingly, the beer program showcases the best achievements of the burgeoning craft brewing community in Dallas-Fort Worth. The interiors of CBD Provisions, designed by Claudia Woods, set the stage for the warm and social character of a big city brasserie with historic brick walls, salvaged wood floors, sumptuous leather banquettes, a fully exhibited kitchen, and of course a great bar.

I have to say that I was disappointed on this visit to CBD. I arranged a business meal here for 5 people. The service was slow and un-attentive. I think the server had so many tables that we were left with glasses un filled and delays at every possible turn. It took an overly long time to place a first drink order after sitting down, and it too forever to finally get our entrees. I found mine too overly salted and lacking in much flavor. I did not expect or want it to take 2.5 hours from arrival to finish a mid week business dinner.

I've been here several times before and had much much better experiences. I'm not sure I'll choose to return given the overall impression of Wednesday's dinner.

For a steak house, wine list was weak. Not crowded at all but service was very slow...waitress was good, but kitchen was ridiculously slow. Food was only so so.

The service was great. The server went out of his way to accommodate special requests, but the food was very disappointing. The flavor was off on almost everything served. Signature dish, Berkshire Pig Head Carnita, was the not at all what was expected. The skin was too tough and the meat had no flavor. The steak tartare was way too warm and the worst seasoning I've every tasted on a steak tartare. I would only recommend this place for a light lunch for perhaps their burger. Did not have the brunch but don't want to try it either. Again, the service was great, though!!

Lovely atmosphere. Prompt service. Food good. Hog head impressive (although we didn't order one). No Miller Lite... not good for those of us who drink ML. Wine list needs expanding to accommodate for overpriced wine.

Burger was tiny, barely larger than a slider, and not very filling, however the fries were outstanding. Honestly the place was a little classier than I expected based on open table's information

Overpriced, overrated, and average. Went for New Years Eve 2017. Menu limited for the evening, but not very selective in food. It was not busy, yet bartenders not very attentive, had to wait for additional food that they forgot to place order on. Don’t mind overpaying for good quality steak, but it was extremely fatty. Food very average. Left after food was bad and moved on to another restaurant to have a better meal. Drinks also average.

The Service was great and we really appreciated the extra gestures to ensure our Anniversary celebration was special. However, i was not impressed with the food itself. I had higher expectations from previous reviews as one of the top restaurants in Dallas.

Perhaps the best Dallas Restaurant in the last five years. Have been here several times and I never get tired dining with such warm staff. Erin is terrific . Pork Carnitas is to die for ! And the chicharonnes are divine. Wine selection is good ! Five stars

Great service by Aaron! The catch of the day was wonderful, but the octopus appetizer was my favorite. We ordered 3 deserts to share - the churros and banana dessert were standouts. Wine list was good and not over the top.
Will be back again.

Find it very annoying when the restaurant calls and leaves message asking me to call them back to confirm my reservation made online through Open Table. If they don’t trust the res system they shouldn’t participate. If I had wanted to reserve by phone I would have.

This is my second time for brunch at CBD Provisions but it had been a while. I made this reservation a while back because I was joining a friend for brunch before a relaxing spa day. I was disappointed since it took a while to be seated when the restaurant wasn't full and the hostess didn't give a reason or apologize for the wait. The waiter was good and was able to give great recommendations for brunch and drinks; however, when we asked to split the bill he ran the full amount on 1 credit card and had to run the cards again. The food was really good but with all the different spots in Dallas for brunch, I probably won't go back.

Had to wait 10 min after being sat at our table before even being acknowledged

We got up to leave and only then did someone attempt to say hello.

It was too late and a window on how the rest of the service may go

Occasion was for wife's birthday dinner just the two of us. Chose CBD Provisions as is was on ranked highly on several restaurant lists for Dallas. Overall I left disappointed as the experience was lackluster at best. Waitress we had was excellent and knowledgeable about menu. Whole restaurant was fairly empty yet hostess sat another couple right beside us for unknown reason. I wouldn't have been bothered by this if it was crowded but maybe a total of 20 people in the restaurant doesn't make sense. I ordered the fish and while it was tasteful it left a lot to be desired. Wife ordered the pork chop and it came with what we thought was a bit excessive amount of fat from the cut. The pork chop was most likely cooked sous vide and then seared before serving, but a little better job searing would have been welcomed. While the food was good, it definitely wasn't a place I would recommend to anyone who is visiting Dallas. They had a new steak menu, but if I wanted steak I would go to a proper steakhouse. The restaurant had a unique appeal but the entire wall that is either booth seat or chair left us feeling a bit to close to our other restaurant patrons. The value for what we ate just seemed a bit too overvalued. I could have gotten more food and just about the same amount of taste from Red Lobster for about half the cost of my dish and pork chop was really overpriced especially since cut was obviously very poor and the cooking process is rather simple. I wouldn't recommend CBD Provisions to a friend, but I would reconsider returning for something besides dinner.

Great ambiance- food just ok. We were there for brunch. It was our first time there. We asked the waiter what was the most popular dishes. We order all of them except the pancakes. The Midas was so bland I could add enough salt to add flavor. The dish was also almost room temp. The avacado toast was the best thing we tried. I’d give the restaurant another try because the ambiance was really good. If the food is just ok the next time - we’ll cross this restaurant off of our list to frequent.

Breakfast was beautiful and delicious! Our fried eggs were cooked over easy and over medium just as requested. The Grilled Potato Bread with Strawberry Jam, Bacon and Grits were the perfect accompaniments. Everything, including the French Press Coffee, was served hot and fresh. Service was friendly and efficient. We will certainly return to this lovely place again whenever we're staying in Dallas.

I'm a first time visitor, and was in for a quick business lunch. I ordered an herb salad and onion soup. I'm still telling people about the herb salad. It was so fresh, well-seasoned and well dressed. (It reminded me that NO ONE seasons fresh greens, and that my mother TAUGHT me to season the salad. Oops, I forgot.) The soup was also very good. I wanted to eat my companions' food, too. Service was lovely.

We really enjoyed this restaurant from the cocktails to the small dishes to the main course. We started with some cocktails that the waitress recommended and then moved on to the bone marrow dish and charred octopus. Both were amazing dishes and the octopus was cooked to perfection (nice soft bite and not rubbery at all). The charred octopus came with some micro green, some sort of nut and a vinaigrette that just pulled all the ingredient together and was so flavorful. For the main course, we shared the 28 oz aged rib eye which was cooked to perfection. This was a great experience and great atmosphere. The ONLY negative from the experience was that the Joule Hotel's valet had smoked in our car so we definitely came home smelling like cigarette smoke.
