Terrible service , average over priced food
Great location. Our server was the best. But the food was slow coming out of the kitchen. The food also was too bland for our tastes.
Had an amazing night! The drinks were all on point and tasted great. The main entrees were exquisite in taste the crust on the steaks were awesome.side dishes of the mac and cheese and mixed vegetables really hit home. I feel the best thing that I enjoyed was the cheese board! Must try!!
Office holiday dinner. I’ve been there 6 or 8 times but it was everyone else’s first time. Diverse menu with something for everyone, from adventurous eaters to those want to keep it simple. Everything prepared perfectly and all in the party were impressed. Bar program is always great.
The food was delicious and prepared as requested. The service was very friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was very nice and quiet enough to have a conversation without speaking loudly. Highly recommended.
Nice place, good food and variety. I would recommend this place to anyone.
This was my second visit to CBD and it again fell short of it's reputation. The food, while excellent, isn't worth the spend in my opinion. Dallas is foutrunate to have several excellent restaurants and many provide a way better value than CBD. Additionally, we found some of the staff to be VERY rude as well.
The food was just ok. The portions were small and atmosphere somewhat boring. I feel that for such a cool Hotel aka The Joule I would step it up. I understand it was Thanksgiving but the offerings were basic and boring. I doubt I will be back.
Not great choice for thanks giving brunch but what was available was fantastic. Would definitely recommend.
The atmosphere and experience was among the best I have seen!!!
ALWAYS PERFECT! Drinks, incredible shrimp/crab cocktail, the worlds best tater tots and steak to the max! We always love CBD.
And it’s always a bonus to have the same fantastic server as we’ve had before.
Great food as always, though the kitchen was moving way too slow today. Our drinks were comped to make up for the meal delay, which was appreciated. We will continue to eat here.
Very modern but, warm feel. Excellent food.
Good food but overpriced for amount of food. One person had the steak & frites and the steak was very salty. She decided not to send it back because it had taken so long to get it and she had somewhere to be after dinner. One person ordered another beer about 10 mins before we got our food and it was delivered to the table about 10 mins after we had finished. We had had great experiences at breakfast but we will not be returning to eat dinner.
Wonderful food and good service, however OpenTable should change this restaurant from $$ to $$$. Although entrees are under $30 they do not include sides which are ordered separately, so the total for a meal is in the $$$ range.
Always a great experience...my go-to location for Lunch in Downtown Dallas
CBD, always consistent for business lunches or dinner. My "go to" with out of towners.
Good location for downtown. Valet parking available. We were there for a late Sunday brunch. One of our diners said his hamburger was great, and his wife loved her French press, but she said her Chilaquiles were not what she expected. She ate the eggs on top but not the rest. I had the quiche and it was not very good. Service was OK but delivery of food was slow and considering we had two eight-month old girls with us, and they were starting to be fussy, it would have been nice if they had been able to get the food out faster. I had to ask for water refills. Will try someplace else next time.
The hash browns are weird. Didn't like the taste at all. The French press coffee was superb. Not very friendly the day I was there, but it was early. I cannot say I will remember my meal there...it just wasn't at all special.
Great service and the food was amazing! Will definitely be back!
Service was not so great. Took forever to order especially when we wanted a 2nd round of drinks. Food was good but slightly overpriced.
Great food and lovely service, beautiful room. Adjacent to the restaurant in the hotel lobby are several mosaics from the Mercantile Bank Building that are displayed 360 degrees, and beautifully presented. We had a wonderful evening.
Had a great time! Food and drinks were awesome! Would come back again!
We made reservations for a Friday night, expecting it to be packed, but restaurant was less than half full. The food was good and very well prepared, however, our server really couldn't answer our questions about preperation and accompaniments. He kept "warning" us that the fish was in a broth. Ok. What kind of broth? He couldn't say. We offered ideas..."dashi or fume, perhaps?" "Oh yeah, that's it!" Fish arrived-no broth. Rather, a small swathe of a puree that was tasty but had no idea what it was. Beans, maybe??? The server even asked how we liked the broth....uhhhhh, we pointed out there wasn't any....(We had to laugh!) No worries as the fish was perfectly cooked with crispy exterior and moist, flaky center - delicious.
When asked about almonds on the charred octopus, (mild sensitivity) the server seemed confused then responded " Oh, they're a garnish". Turns out they were in the sauce. We ate around it and the small pieces were tender and succulent with just enough char to flavor and not burn. The radish slices and dill fronds provided excellent flavor and texture contrast - a fabulous dish.
Wine assistance ended with request for samples, which we've learned is a safer bet than "well its fish, so any white..." (groan). We had fun watching the open kitchen and really did enjoy our meal but due to all the hype, we were expecting much, much more.
None the less, we agreed it's worth trying again to see if we hit on an off night, as the kitchen definitely knows what they're doing even if the dining room doesn't.
Excellent service without staid formality. Interesting menu, it was delicious.
Met clients here for a business lunch. Very comfortable and easy to talk. Noise level was not outrageous so we didn't have to raise our voices. Got the chopped salad with fried chicken. Delicious.
Amazing food, service and cockrails
Wonderful food! Great environment. Did not know it was in the Joule, so we had a bit of trouble finding it but the food was worth it.
Eat somewhere else. Way overpriced for the quality. Service was beyond poor. Plenty of other good restaurants downtown-don’t waste your time or money here.
Really nice meal with great service. Only downside was a sewer smell in the background- strong as we walked in, but not nearly as bad at our table. I’m sure they are scrambling to address that.
Only had brunch here so far, but so far everything has been amazing.
Casual atmosphere a few steps from our hotel (Adolphus) with really nice food. We had an exceptional meal with friends after suffering the loss of the Texas Longhorns at the hands of OU [Boo-hiss]. Our experience redeemed the weekend. We had excellent, attentive, professional service. Good variety of wines by the glass. The Pimento Cheese Toast with greens, radishes, crispy onions appetizer was flavorful and delicious. My red snapper Catch of the Day with texas caviar salad, pickled celery, dill was fabulous and very fresh-tasting. My husband and friend both got the Shrimp & Grits, which they devoured. My friend's husband ordered the House Made Linguine with lump crab, chile, bottarga, herb-bread crumbs. If he could have licked the plate, he would have!! No room for dessert, this time. But we will be back.
Great ambiance. Great service. Great food. The pig head was amazing.
Loved it great service!
Somewhat limited menu for lunch, but the food was very good.
A couple girlfriends and I went to CBD Provisions after the yoga class at Vital Yoga Studio. We all ended up with the avocado toast which was the perfect amount of food and so yummy. The ambiance was chill and relaxed and we were able to catch up with each other because the music was at a reasonable level. I would definitely go there again to try all of the other yummy-looking things we saw on the menu.
Their is an associate that is outside the kitchen confirming that the order is served correctly. She is pretty loud and sorta disturbing; the table next to us felt the same.
Their site boasts a lot of gluten free options but the actual menu doesn't have those which was a bummer. My meal was a little cold when I received it as well, which was disappointing. It seems like they prioritized my friend's meal and let mine sit too long. My friend loved her meal though she said the pancakes and the hash browns were fantastic!
