They cancelled our reservation last minute. We were gonna go there for mother’s day. It was really disappointing.

Thomas was an excellent server becoming 'part' of our family quickly! The food took a fairly long time and was enjoyed by all. There was a very large and extremely 'energetic' (to coin your phrase) crowd. I would definitely recommend the Cavu to others.

Great ambiance and attentive service! Wide menu varieties to accommodate our dietary preferences. I love that it got many vegetarian/vegan options such as Beyond Burger, and lentil Ragu etc. It's a great value for the level of service and the food presentation. It definitely exceeds our expectation of a hotel restaurant in Richmond, and we will definitely return in the future.

Food pairing for the dine-out festival was awful. Why would you have mac & cheese as appetizer - appetizers are supposed to tease your appetite, not stuff you before you have your main course. Then the entree also contained pasta? I know I could have chosen other dishes but I did not know the extent of the pasta. The description of the menu items sounded heavenly but did not match the food served. The pork was ok - nothing special. The fish was actually fishy. And pairing fish with gnocchi pasta was not right. Also, no bread was served. The live music was way too loud for the dining area. We breathed a sign of relief when the singer took her break. There needs to be sound absorption in the dining area or dividers between the bar area and the dining room. When the server did not replace our utensils used for the appetizers, leaving them for our entrees, we knew what kind of restaurant this is. We will not return.

The foods were really good. My husband and I ordered DINE OUT VANCOUVER menu ($15). The seafood soup (feature soup the day) was really good. For mains, I ordered Fried Chicken and my husband ordered BLT sandwich. They were pretty good. My dessert was just ok. My husband ordered gelato. It was tasty, but they brought everything together, so he had to eat dessert first. The waitress forgot water and took too much time for processing the bill.

Omer provided very good service. Good choice of gluten free options. Onion rings came out cold and Omer removed them from our bill

Went to Cavu for Dine Out 2019 twice in one week. First visit was spectacular from start to finish with an amazing meal and superb service from Matthew. He was very informative, helpful and great to talk to. Excellent service. The Brussels sprouts and Mac and Cheese applies were divine as well as their fried Chicken and pecan tart al la mode. The entire experience was just top notch amazing! As a result we could not wait to go back so we booked again 3 days later.

What a disappointment on our second visit. We were expecting the same degree of dining experience as 3 days ago. Service was not as good. Meghan was our server who could have been more attentive, was on the slower side, and told us she was too busy with a big table to check on us. She’s better off not to say anything. My rockfish entree was bland and a bit over cooked. Did not enjoy our second meal there. Our server only perked up with conversation when it was time to process payment.

Was not impressed. Should have more consistency with service skills between servers . Haven’t decided whether I will go back.

The waitress is very nice and polite. They offer one hour free parking but we have been waiting our food over 30 mins. It is only during weekday lunch time there are only few tables. The food is delicious but we thought three course meal (dine out Van) will serve one by one but in fact they put all three course in one plate so it feels like eating at the food court but with the appetizer and dessert. However it was a great lunch experience with the nice ambiance.

The most memorable part of the night was the waiter, named Thomas. He was very attentive to our needs and checked up regularly to make sure we were comfortable. Although a glass of water turned out to have a piece of hair, that didn't ruin our night and Thomas quickly changed our waters right away.

is my first time trying out the dine out lunch at Cavu, to my surprise the meal was really good and for 15.00 i could not ask for more, will go there again to give it a second try with different friend of my,
the pumpkin soup was so delicious, i have the Roast turkey club, quite a big portion , love the toasted sourdough with roasted turkey breast, smoked bacon , lettuce ,tomato and mayo and the dessert is Pot de creme was so yummy, my daughter had the Avocado toast with roasted peppers, heirloon tomato with goats cheese,arugula with balsamic and grilled herb flat bread was so yummy

Lunch for 2. Was first surprised how very view guests but we enjoyed the quiet. We are both short - chairs far too deep to sit comfortably at table but we asked and were given pillows for our backs. Service was attentive until after we finished and then no one to take our money. We both had salads. They were ok - but heavy on mixed greens and not well dressed - pool of vinegar at the bottom of my bowl. Can’t really recommend.

Service was slow eventhough the dining room was less than 50% occupied. Ordered their Beast Master Burger which was certainly not worth the 40% premium price over their "non-exotic" burgers. The risotto served with the grill salmon is sushi-rice inspired was very interesting. Overall our meal was not enjoyable and the experience us not what you would expect from a 4 stars Hilton property.

One of my favourite all round restaurants. Always good service and food is of good quality. What sets it a apart is when Nikita Afonso performs. A bonus is that parking is free and easy. I would highly recommend.

I went by the reviews thinking I was taking my mother in law for her 70th birthday to a great place for lunch. I was sadly mistaken. We had the Cobb salad. Pretty boring for such a salad that has everything even the dressing was nothing to speak about. I would think that it would come with a nice roll or a slice if garlic bread for the price. Will not recommend

There were long delays between visits from the staff. There was a training session happening, but taking orders for two appetizers or one drink and assuming no one else wants anything is unacceptable. The $36 halibut on a plate of diced tomato with tomato paste was....? The steak with a few soggy mushrooms.....?
Other diners had amazing looking burgers and amazing smelling pasta. Unfortunately that wasn’t our experience. Overall I think they need to work on their fine dining plates but won’t disappoint if your looking for a burger or pasta.

Our server was good and kind but the wait for our food was amazingly painfully long. No joke, we ordered our dinners and finally got them about one hour and twenty minutes later. I've never actually experienced that kind of a wait. The seats are uncomfortable and too low for the tables, the place could use some updating. The lighting was too bright in the dining area, that night anyway, big and open onto the hotel halls and lobby and it's not cozy. I have to say though, the food was very good, once we got it and our server, again, was good :)

First thing we noticed was booth seating in tattered condition in many many places. Server was very friendly and attentive. Appies - mussels were average, calamari had very good flavours. The food orders were messed up, we ordered the lamb meatball appy and got a full meal. Ordered a side caesar salad and got a regular side salad. The halibut ($30!!!) was overcooked to the point of being inedible, even though I (somewhat jokingly) asked the server if the cook knew how to cook halibut at the time of ordering. They quickly replaced it and the 2nd halibut was MUCH better. The live music was too loud/aggravating (we weren't even that close), although the solo female singer was quite good. Mistakes aside, I'll give this place another chance. Service was pretty good considering it was packed on a Saturday night.

Very pleasantly surprised with such a nice dinner at an airport hotel. I had their seared salmon and my husband had pasta with spicy lamb meatballs. Both very flavorful, nice spices, and well presented. Also had breakfast there the next morning, Eggs Benedict and 2 eggs over easy with sides. Very good, both came with small bowl of fresh fruit and grilled tomato half in addition to toast or hash browns.

This is my second time having dinner at Cavu. I was not impressed about their food at all. We ordered a calamari as a starter. It was cold. I mentioned to the server and the server was nice to remove it from our bill. Then, two out of four entrees were cold too. I didn't bother mentioning to the server. Both salmon and halibut entrees were cold. My dad and I were so disappointed. I don't know what went wrong in the kitchen. But the table next to us had the same issue. They sent back their meals. It's really not worth going back there.

The service was great.....free underground parking.....we were able to meet and visit for hours with family before catching ferry back to Vancouver Island.
The Manager was very accommodating for my wheat intolerance....they brought me specially made potatoes and toast at no extra charge - that is a surprise

The food was amazing but the service was HORRIBLE we sat for over 30min without getting our drinks, our appetizers came very late and never was asked about our dinner orders. When we got our bill we needed to send it back 2 times because of errors. The whole experience (if was positive) should have taken 30- 45 min and instead it took 1.5h without even an order for our main course food

This was by far one of the worst dining experience I've ever had. My fiancé and I went to eat at Cavu during their happy hour.....and it was certainly anything BUT happy. First off, they had big sign saying "Happy Hour Specials" outside - but we were soon disappointed to find out that they were out of their mussels even though the there was only ONE other table there. Seriously, there were no NO other diners there except for us and this other table. Why advertise Happy Hour with a big sign when you can't even sustain the menu? Their other food was cold, bland, and they served the driest, hardes pork meatballs I have ever had. Their "BBQ duck flatbread" looks like something an average teenager could whip up in a jiffy as an after school snack. Their spring rolls were bland, unexciting and pale in colour. We waited for so long to get service as the waitresses were all too busy setting up for breakfast for tomorrow morning. So disappointing. We were really hoping for a good dining experience, but unfortunately got much less than we expected.

This was my 2nd time here and it was just as good as the 1st time. I had organized a group gathering and chose this place as it was central for everyone. We all loved the food, the ambience and the service was ☆☆☆☆☆!! Quickly becoming a fav place to hang out with friends 😊😍

We had the dine-out menu with the wine pairings - the food is very good - interesting spices and combinations of flavours, artfully served. The staff are friendly, and the wine selections are excellent (if a bit on the cold side when first served). There was a live guitarist who played very nice background music that added to the experience. We have eaten here once before from their regular menu and were very pleased with the food - great flavour combinations!

Everything was fine, nothing fantastic. This was a second visit, and since last time the service was phenomenal, I prompted others to come with. But when I walked up to one of the waitresses, she glared at me and did not say anything. Not sure what to do I stood there until another waitress came over, and I proceeded to tell her I had a reservation and everything else went fine. Overall impression: food was fine, ambience is fine, it's really just that. Fine.
