Caviar Russe Ratings and Reviews
The service here and adequate is top class. The ambience is lovely. This is a great romantic spot for a special celebration. I requested in notes a private corner spot , they went beyond to accommodate my 30th birthday celebration. I will return in the future.
The chef here is top quality. The prices leave something to be desired. I like caviar and know it well, but even the efforts to save the Volga and Caspian sturgeon - now legal to harvest - cannot justify these prices. On the other hand, they have everything, so if you are a caviar lover, this is the place to go. Do NOT expect Russian food here, however. The cuisine is inventive and very well done, but not Eastern European.
The restaurant is lovely, the service terrific and the food very delicious. It is extremely expensive and I left feeling hungry. The portions are minuscule, except for my husband's smoked salmon. The choices are very limited. There were only two desserts.
As always Caviar Russe is fabulous. Had chestnut purée with fois gras and truffle. Also had amazing halibut. Their only thing to work on is their desserts. But the fresh hot madeleines they give at the end are the best ever and I go to Paris every six weeks!
This remains the best restaurant for caviar and caviar enhanced foods. The ambiance is cozy and quiet. The service is impeccable. The menu allows one to select from several options, and there is the beautiful selection of caviar. This is well worth the expense, but caviar of this quality is worth every cent.
Our Thanks to Armando and Fernando, as well as the entire kitchen staff, for the beautiful evening.
It was not what I expected. I thought I would have a light lunch.sitting at a champagne bar maybe a little caviar and some champagne. We were seated at a lovely table over looking Madison Avenue. We ordered the 3 course tasting menu along with a caviar appetizer. Everything was excellent. The service was impeccable. The restaurant far exceeded my expectations We will return.
This is an extravagant meal. Service decor and food exemplary. Our server suggested several different options and we went with a caviar tasting to start plus the 3 course meal. It was really too much food for us so I wouldn't order the 3 course dinner next time. Maybe just 1 course and dessert. There are a lot of extras anyway . Amuse bouche etc.
It was outstanding. A dinner to remember.
We were so disappointed with this restaurant. This is the most disappointing Michelin star restaurant ever. The food was wonderful and waiters were very nice, but a guy in a suit, maybe a manager.. he was unkind and terrible. My friend asked him what he would recommend and he replied that everything was good and just chose. What? Then at almost the end of the meal, he took the plate she finished while I was still enjoying my entree. He moved the the side of table, was taking other dishes away. 'Oh no.. what is he doing???' So I took my last bit in front of him to see what would happen. My guess was right! He took the plate right away. Still his great service was continuing. He just left the check on the table before we asked while we are enjoying the tea and dessert... Was he forcing us to leave sooner??? We believe that we were unwelcome guests for him. We had a valuable experience there. Of course, we will never go back again!! Every day is a learning day!
So if you are seeking perfection in every aspect of dining and Caviar is your main focus, this is the best place you could ever go. There are only six tables in the main dining room but each table is private. the service is beyond impeccable. Each dish is picturesque but the main purpose of this restaurant is Caviar. We had 5 different 25 gram selections, Started with 3 but added two more. Don't complain about the price or you shouldn't go in the first place. Perfection comes at a price after all! You won't be disappointed! Trust me , I dine all over the world and this is the top if Caviar and Champagne are your thing!
My wife and I have gone to Caviar Russe for our anniversary lunch for the past several years. It is a wonderful place to splurge on amazing food, with top notch champagne, and excellent service. We have enjoyed selecting a trio of caviar choices with all the proper accompaniments. I do not recommend you order too much up front, we found ourselves quite full the first time we went to Caviar Russe and on subsequent visits decided to carefully step our way through luncheon. You cannot go wrong with a fantastic meal at Caviar Russe.
The name of this remarkable restaurant says it all: Russian caviar in the French style. The dishes are creatively served and the ingredients are remarkably superior. Caviar is the centerpiece of the menu, though the individual dishes incorporate fish, eggs, and veg perfectly. The wine list is also excellent and diverse. Pricey, but worth it.
My husband and I had dinner last night at Caviar Russe. Where do I start?! This restaurant is heaven on Madison Avenue! From the second we walked in we were made to feel like we have been coming here for years. It is small boutique-feel place beautifully designed and extremely clean. The food exceeded our expectations, absolutely delicious. Each plate looked like an art perfection. Service was amazing: very attentive without being intrusive.
Michelin, give them two more stars, they deserve all three!!!
Definitely coming back and bringing more family and friends!
glamourous and elegant - perfect for our early Mother’s Day celebration! Ask for private circular booth in the front room – all the glamor but privacy too! We did a 5 course menu – after sublime caviar tasting with Pink Taittinger. Gracious service -attentive but unobtrusive. We overlapped in our choice of Blue Fin Tuna, Foie Gras – outstanding and outrageously indulgent! I then had signature Egg dish with the eponymous Caviar, while UCT_boy had the Uni and Morel pasta, and then we split again on Artic Char w Crab, and Lamb. We deliberately ordered both desserts – delicate and complex, particularly the Lemon Olive Oil Cake. The flair of the plating and the obvious care in preparation coupled with the little things: Cheddar Maple Butter (how?!?) and oh, the warm madeleines - made this a wonderfully satisfying, memorable experience!
My friend and I were craving caviar. After researching extensively we chose Caviar Russe. Wow! is all I can say. This place was great, the caviar was obviously amazing but the menu was interesting, bursting with flavors and really made us think. I love this place and will keep returning. Thank you to all who made our visit special.
Where do I begin, from the minute you walk in to this beautiful townhouse you are greeted like you are royalty. The impeccable style and elegant interior is breathless is and comparable to the perfect design to each dish served.
The famous Egg dish is by far mouth watering, but then again you won't be disappointed with anything you order as you can't go wrong.
The prestigious caviar is by far the freshest I have had in any city; A must for any caviar lover
Staff is very attentive to your needs and will cater to any request.
3 thumbs up and 5 of 5 stars
Not right! How dare you allow us only so many words to describe Caviar Russe! This was not as much of a dining experience as it was a two hour vacation into the veritable highs of culinary dining. The consumables put before us by an out of this world staff was not just "food," but creations of Glory! Yes, Glory! While dining with fellow artists we, all of us, marveled at how surprised we were by an assortment of tastes that came from a miraculous place we never knew existed. As a spiritual person, I can truly say two things. First, I hope like hell I make it to Heaven. Second, I know I'm there when my first meal is prepared by the good people of Caviar Russe!
