Was a nice surprise/find from Open Table - had no idea it was there and it was a pleasant surprise! The place is really cute, a hidden gem! Great for a date night.
Main course was a bit of a wait so our waitress comped us a drink. While unnecessary was appreciated. Great dining experience.
This place is second to none! You feel secluded in paradise but you’re in the middle of city. The food is excellent and we had a wonderful evening.
Excellent quiet spot to have a business conversation and enjoy a meal In a completely relaxed Socal setting
We walked in(only part of our group) and they seated us right away, with no hesitation at all. The wait staff were very attentive to our every need, and never let our champagne glass get empty.
We are planning on going back because it was just amazing. Food was fantastic, and great place to sit and talk, and not have to scream.
Since discovering this Gorgeous, Romantic and most delicious spot about 2 years ago, we can't stop taking people there. Everyone can't wait to go back and take their friends - It's a JEWEL!
Great as always. Cavatina and the Marquis are a hidden gem that has become one of my favorites over the years. Ambiance, food and service have always been top notch in all the times I've been there. My guests are always blown away and swear to return on their own.
Cavatina is located inside the Sunset Marquis Hotel, a legendary spot in Hollywood. I have dined here for dinner multiple times and never been disappointed. The food is excellent and the service is always on point. Although it can be a bit pricey, it is a good value for the price. The ambiance is great and dining here always feels like a special occasion. I'll definitely come back again in the future. On this visit I had the braised short ribs and crispy brussel sprouts, and both were done exceptionally well. Would love to see them get more adventurous in the beer selection, but what they do offer is decent.
I’m usually a huge fan of this place. The food is pretty good and the ambience is unbeatable so I was a bit disappointed when I took my parents to lunch and the service was not exactly great. Almost 20 mins went by before a waiter even came by our table to take our drink order, and that was only after we flagged down the hostess (who was great, btw) and asked if we could get some service. I understand it was New Years Day and the restaurant was no doubt a bit short staffed, but there were maybe only 2-3 other tables and it wasn’t busy at all, so I don’t understand what the hold up was. I will definitely give Cavatina another try, but it probably won’t be for a while.
Our family went for dinner on xmas day. I chose this place because I remember their food being way better few years ago. I was bit disappointed at the slow service. Good appetizers and desserts but main dish wasn't up to my standard.
Nice outdoor setting was the best of the night!
Cavatina repeatedly delivers fantastic food and service!
Beautiful setting, one would never know this lovely garden terrace would be inside the somewhat ordinary street view of this hotel. Also inside the hotel are fabulous photos of rock stars and the Morrison Hotel Gallery has interesting exhibits (when it is open-unfortunately closed when we were there). The restaurant is very expensive. I looked at the breakfast and lunch menus online and based on that made a reservation for Sunday morning as that the only time we could come. The items shown on the website were pricey but ok. I didn't realize that Sunday morning is a fixed price Sunday brunch and I didn't see the price posted anywhere. The food was wonderful and the selection is great as was the service. But I can't eat enough food at one seating to justify $65 per person (plus tax no tip). I may not have gone had I known the cost in advance, but it was a great experience.
Wonderful ambiance, beautiful people, excellent service, delicious food and really great glassware for drinks. Fair prices too. How bout that!!!
Really unusual to find a great restaurant in a hotel, especially a small one. Stay and you don't have to leave (like Hotel California!)
Romantic and private. This has to be the most hidden gem in WeHo, tucked away into the midst of an exclusive hotel in the middle of everything, yet so private no one knows it's there. A great place for a romantic dinner or quiet dinner with good friends.
Beautiful atmosphere and delicious food with excellent and friendly service
Nice restaurant, service was great, food was very mediocre for the price tag, 2 dinners, 3 drinks, $150, and wasn’t really that nice. The valet was $10, no other choices to park.. meh, probably won’t be back
A great place for Sunday brunch, lunch or dinner. Cavatina offers an alfresco dining experience enhanced by springs that surround the restaurant and provide a wonderful sound barrier to the noise of the city. Sunday brunch offers a wide variety of sweet and savory dishes both hot and cold. The atmosphere is so wonderful you will want to linger long finishing your meal.
I made reservations at Cavatina because I had an event to attend at the Sunset Marquis. So this place was convenient. I had the spaghetti, Marquis cheeseburger, charcuterie, and the chocolate chip cookies for dessert. My favorite was the cookies, then the burger, then the spaghetti and then the charcuterie. Every thing tasted fresh and the presentation was nice. It was a nice start to our evening out on the town.
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Wonderful experience. We stayed at the hotel for our 44th Anniversary
Great as usual
We had all appetisers so cannot comet on the main dishes. All tasted lovely and well prepared. Such a gorgeous setting and would love to go again. Only wish would be for the restaurant to have a few more daring dishes to really liven up the experience.
Great ambiance for dinner, special occasion. Gregory's setting. Nice rock and roll history; iconic photos decorate wall. Thoughtful service. Poke excellent.
One of my favorite places, great night even if it was 90 degrees and humid. We went with it, pretended we were visiting Costa Rica for an evening
Unexpected beauty . Amazing garden setting. Our food was slow, however there was a part of 12 that ordered just before us. Food was great and a great for a change of pace. We forget to go there and we were excited to find it again.
I always forget about this hidden gem in my neighborhood during the winter...it's outdoor patio is the perfect al fresco dining spot in the summer. The setting is beautiful and I enjoy walking thru the Sunset Marquis and seeing their wonderful exhibit of rock n roll photos. The food is always delicious and Cavatina is one of the few restaurants with a noise level that allows you and your dinner companions to actually have a conversation!
This has been close to my 20th visit here and it is always amazing every time. The combination of the friendly and welcoming staff and the breathtaking environment make it a perfect location for a special event. We tend to make a dinner out of several appetizers and shared plates and there were many creative dishes to choose from. This was a birthday and anniversary occasion for my friends and I, and we were treated to some amazing desserts to brighten the celebration. Drinks were a little pricey but they were Patron and Cointreau margaritas, so it's kind of expected - especially at such a uber cool establishment in LA. There was a fantastic art show being given in the on-site gallery that made the evening even more incredible. Not to be missed for a special night out.
