Nice setup, great service, inedible food
My niece was visiting from the East Coast for a business. I thought Cavatina would be a great place for good meal and great atmosphere. It did not disappoint. I highly recommend this restaurant.
All was excellent but the host . I highly recommend Cavatina at Sunset Marquis.
Such a cool place, rock and roll history in beautiful garden setting.
The ambiance can not be beat in all of LA...
Lovely setting with table spacing that is refreshingly stout, friendly service and thoughtfully curated wine list make for a pleasant evening despite ho hum food
Great meal! Had an amazing time!
Excellent as always. Seabass is a fantastic server! Love this place so much!
The food and service was excellent, they’ve created an atmosphere of style comfort and quiet with delicious food.
The only challenge is when you valet at the Sunset Marquis Hotel the valets try and rip you off by asking to pay them cash to park your car. The valet wanted $20 cash to park my car but when I went to the restaurant they said with a validation parking only $10.
So I got my receipt validated paid $10 and the valet demanded that I pay him $20 before he gave me my car back. I went back to the front desk and explained what happened and there was a big discussion around parking the valet once realized he was exposed, said OK $10 is fine.
Bottom line. Great restaurant, great atmosphere but hotel valet is that try and take your money
Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations to try. We ordered 4 different entrees(split among 3) and dessert. Everything was delicious. My husband and are not sushi fans, but we would go back and try it again.
The food was spectacular. The burrata salad with fresh peaches and figs was revelatory. Everything you’d expect from great Cali cuisine. And the Caesar salad was like having it for the first time. The individual leaves that you can eat as a finger food. Wonderful.
The venue could use a bit of an umph. As director of design fir luxury hospitality projects I understand the desire to preserve the history and character of this historic hotel. But the dining area could use a bit of s makeover. Maybe new FFE at least.
I love Cavatina, and take every opportunity I can to introduce friends to such a great restaurant in such a lovely setting.
Wonderful service and exceptional cuisine!
This place is a beautiful little hidden gem off Sunset. The staff was so accommodating and nice. The food was delicious. We will definitely be back.
Service was second to none at both our table and the bar. We will be back!
An LA classic that I keep coming back too. Quiet, romantic and tucked away, yet smack dab in the middle of frenetic WeHo, most people I bring here have no idea it exists and exit raving about it.
We enjoyed the entire experience: delicious food, served beautifully and professionally.
The setting is nice, but the food is perfectly average, which in turn makes it over priced.
Went to Cavatina for my birthday and it was exactly what I wanted. We sat on the terrace, which was lovely and chill. It was a quiet enough we could talk to each other in our group, but not so quiet we could hear other people's conversations at nearby tables. The food was delicious, one of my friends has already demanded we go back so she can get the same dish. They also covered the dessert for my birthday, which was a nice surprise.
Lovely oasis-like setting. Gracious service. But less-than-stellar food. The trademark potato chips were cold and soggy. The Caesar salad was over-dressed. The porcini fettuccine was over-cooked and over-sauced, and had more common mushrooms than porcini mushrooms. Even the bread was average — like a store bought baguette. The food did not match the stellar setting.
We love it there - never rushed and beautiful surroundings
Good food, good drinks, and a lot of fun all evening. Will be back as soon as we can! Love it every time!
Would recommend in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, I have 2 more dinners with friends planned there within the next few weeks!
The hostess and waiters were very kind, however waiters take so long to show up. The food is good. The mezcal margarita and tequila margarita were terrible, they need to improve the drinks for people that hang out on Friday nights to drink. The lighting in the restaurant bother if you are in a date night or used to night scene, too bright right above the tables.
The food was good, as was the ambiance. The waiters were attentive, and responsive, as we had our 3 year old son with us. There was live music, which made the evening even more enjoyable!
Staff and manager were wonderful to help make an important special dinner memorable for our party of 10. Festive atmosphere. Menu had varied options to please different palates and allergies. Would not hesitate to recommend.
A magical evening in an enchanting garden. This restaurant is a hidden gem of peace, excellent food and great wines in the chaos of West Hollywood. We'll be back again for special occasions
The service and food here is always amazing ! Thank you, Angel, for another great dinner service. We will be back soon.
Best kept secret of West Hollywood/Beverly Hills, and significant part of the history and culture of the area. This place functions as an institution set for perfection from the Valet, doorman, host, server, and chef, to the manager. Niched in a peaceful tropical looking area with beautiful landscaping, you feel romanced and welcomed immediately.
The service has uniformly been excellent every time we go there. The food and wine is great, top to bottom, so, just pick anything on the menu, and you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere is friendly and lovely. We had a great time talking to the very nice, funny and knowledgeable manager.
Very gentile place, great posters and great food. I was expecting something that felt more like a garden though
My favorite restaurant of all times.
Everything was amazing. Very nice and professional people. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely come back.
Great service and very attentive staff.
Everything about Cavatina was fantastic! I went for a nice dinner on my last evening in LA and it far exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely be dining there again on my next trip!
Wonderful ,Peaceful ,pretty place great ambiance and food
I loved the food and the staff was amazing I would definitely recommend this place.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Cavatina. Love the atmosphere and service is excellent. Allergies are accommodated with flexibility and the food never disappoints. It is lovely to dine at a place one can hold a conversation without having to raise one’s voice above the din and do so in a setting that incorporates the charm of the outdoors so effectively into the dining experience.
The hidden secret of Sunset Strip.
We checked in for our reservation about 1:20.
We were not sat right away, we had to remind the host that our table, the one that was pointed out to us hadn't been cleaned in more than 20 min. We sat there another 15 min after the table was cleaned. Went back to let them know it had been cleaned and we needed to be sat. By this time is shortly after 2, and your host informed us the brunch was over at 2:30.
After being seated, we waited another 15 min just for someone to come over and greet us. We had to have one person stay at the table to communicate our drink order. We felt rushed. We were later told that they'd keep the buffet open until 3.
Nonetheless $800+ and horrible customer service later, we are not happy with our experience.
As a paying customer and consumer, as I'm sure you are, you would expect the same.
Normally brunch @ Cavatina is always a hit. The food and service are usually top notch and we have dined here on plenty of holidays ie Mother’s Day and Easter.
This time was different. For starters, when seated I noticed that other tables had EWaster decorations (bunny ears, plastic eggs etc) I asked the hostess about ours and I was informed that ‘if there are none on the table l, that means the precious guest took them’. Our reservation was for 1pm, and if you are ordering enough ‘giveaways for the kids’, why just order 1 set per table? Instead of enough for your reservations?
Our server was polite enough but the one thing you have to do for brunch is to ensure that the drinks are refilled. I mean, we get up and get our own food; right? It was so bad, that I ended up refilling our table and the table next to us after repeated requests went unanswered from the waiter and other support staff.
While at the omelette station I noticed there weren’t any plates. When I asked for a plate, I was given a saucer and was told that the plates were all gone. Again, how does this happen? The restaurant was pretty full but there was not a line waited to be seated. So my first ‘plate’ was an omelette in one hand and a crepe in the other hand because I couldn’t put two things on my saucer.
Lastly, the table that I had previously filled drinks finally was given a round of drinks by our waiter. When
one of the guests motioned that our table had been waiting, the waiter never came over to us. By then, we were done. Almost $500 to receive lackluster service seemed to be a bit much for me. My guests were offended and so was I.
This is the second year we've enjoyed Easter Sundat brunch here. The restaurant is Beautiful, the food is amazing, and the staff is so friendly! We had a lovely afternoon!
