Perfect food & service, nice people, we really enjoy the moment at the restaurant.
Amazing staff and ambiance in general. They knew their wines which is mainly what this place is about and make you feel comfortable as much as possible.
What a great uptown/midtown discovery tucked away and worth waiting for the 🥘 From hospitality and the HAM BAR and the wine list -whoa!!!!
Underground “P” parking takes you right to CAVA. Loved it!! Saturday date night -too
Interesting Tapas. 1st time experiences and waiter was able to explain and recommend. A bit too noisy to talk.
I had a fantastic time. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done. I will be back for sure.
A place that needs be visited and visited often, a menu executed with great skills and flavours that make your taste bud dance al night long.
good but too many people
Excellent ! The best of all is how they bring innovative menus and explore with Spanish couisne. Congratulations !!
New Year’s Eve meal. Cava never disappoints. Paella was special of the day and was outstanding
Myself and two friends went to Cava for dinner on NYE, we made a reservation for 6:30 and daftly got caught up in Toronto traffic and turned up at 6:50. They had given our table away, but quickly engineered a solution to make sure we still got the chance to eat.
We had serrano ham, a Portuguese sausage, shoshito peppers (amazing) and manchego cheese to start. Really solid ambience and some good wine.
For our mains, all 3 of us had the roast duck breast and the chicken empanadilla. The empanadilla was so good, the apricot made it smell amazing! The duck breast dish was served on a pumpkin-pepper pesto that I am still thinking about 3 days later.
We had the chocolate crema and the churros for dessert, both spectacular, and the bill came with a sea salt and earl grey chocolate which was really tasty and just a nice touch to finish the meal.
Really solid for a nice occasion, price was reasonable for the quality and quantity!
Fabulous service, food and wine
Was at Cava many years ago. Things have changed since Chris left.
Great Service, food is always great!
I've been coming to Cava for years, literally since it opened 13 (?) years ago. The food and service are always outstanding, and this time was no different. In fact, our experience was better than ever! We were taking friends out for a holiday get together and this was their first time... They loved it too and want to return again.
We love Cava and make reservations whenever we have concert in the area. It is sooo poplar with foodies of all ages ! Thus, everyone looks forward to it.
Excellent experience for a family celebration sharing the great recommendations by our attentive server. Unique dishes.
Great time at Cava
We went to Cava on our first night in Toronto. Out of every meal we had in the city (5 meals) this was the best! The wine selection was superb and had a lot of unusual wines. The service was impeccable! We actually left our gloves at the restaurant and they used our phone number from OpenTable to offer to mail me my gloves as we lived out of the country! You can't beat that service!
Server was unfriendly and inattentive. We had to pour our own wine and chase him for water.
It’s very noisy and we were a bit ignored but the food and wine was great.
We enjoyed our meal and wine very much
A little hard to estimate the final tab because of the size of dishes
Our server was very helpful and by the end, very willing to withdraw dishes we just couldn't eat!
I guess as one becomes more familiar with the menu, this dilemma would resolve
My first time eating at Cava was an amazing experience. Each dish was a work of art and tasted wonderful. The waiting staff were lovely and very knowledgeable about each dish. You could sense their passion for good food!
I am a regular at Cava although I only go about every three or four months and they always remember me and know what I have ordered in the past, which I always appreciate. I took out of town guests who were very impressed with the opportunity to taste different dishes due to the tapas style offering. Loved the chicken liver/foie gras mousse, charred octopus and the scallops. Reminded me how much I enjoy Cava and will be there sooner than three months!
One of Toronto’s best hidden gems. Staff is always incredible. Food is unique and always good. Interesting wine list of hard to find Spanish wines. Staff is very wine knowledgeable. Fried Eggplant, Potato Croquettes, and wheat berry salad are must try’s.
Always a wonderful food experience, the wait team is superior. They have near perfect timing and have never disappointed in several occasions there.
A proper Spanish restaurant. Great wines, great tapas and excellent service. It is cozy, friendly and perfectly captures the feeling of Spain.
- Foie gras on toast with apricot jam absolutely divine
- Jambon croquette - bit of an odd texture inside but quite tasty
- Salad of bitter greens with a tart orange dressing and salted cod puree (same consistency as horseradish and so yummy)
- Maitake Mushroom - (never heard of them - definitely not available at No Frills !) grilled whole (like a big steak) with a Valdeon (Spanish blue cheese) and sherry dressing and mint leaves (believe it or not the mint leaves were a perfect addition)
- Beef heart with sweet potato puree and grilled corn and ancho chiles
It was the perfect amount for 2 people.
I had 3 glasses of oh so yummy pink cava.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Our sweet waiter (I think he was about 12 years old) knew everything about everything and he used the words "autumnal" and "herbacious" and "flavour forward". He helped us with our order, without being pushy. His comments were invaluable. He knew where the mushrooms were from. He knew the historical significance of the salt cod puree. He knew for how long the beef heart was marinated and in what it was marinated. He laughed delightedly when we used our fingers to wipe the plate clean before he could take it away. I was going to order the regular cava and he suggested the rose cava because "it's pretty." I was sold.
So much fun. We stayed for 3 hours. I was expecting to pay about $160 each but the bill only came to about $240 (for both of us). Such a wonderful dinner. I will definitely return.
High-quality food, nicely presented. BYOB allowed, but excellent wine list and knowledgeable servers.
The sign of a first-class restaurant owner: he let us come inside before the official opening time because of the bad weather
The food is always amazing at Cava. This Spanish restaurant will get you the best tapas in Toronto. Be aware that portions are on the small side of the scale (tapas are never big) but flavors and ingredients are incredible.
We were there to celebrate our grandson buying his first house. He loves tapas. He had had lots of dinners out, but he said ‘this was actually the best dinner I have ever had’. A wonderful evening all around.
We were received warmly, friendly and to be helpful. Menu was explained in detail. Items in the menu were diverse and unique. Four items selected were enjoyable, tasty and appetizing .
The staff addressed our enquires to make the entry satisfying.
Great first experience. Loved the free corkage on Sundays!
I LOVE Cava and have been going for years - never disappoints.
Food is innovative and delicious. Go with people you are happy to share food with and order different small plates. Daily expensive, but worth it due to innovative ness of chef and deliciousness.
Delicious food, great service, really enjoyed our meal!
Have dined here on and off last 5 yrs, with spotty experiences, but tonight was the bullet in the coffin. Wish I could be more generous, but difficult when we are forced to wait 20 mins for reso, ignored by wait staff, constantly sat with a table full of dirty empty glasses and plates, given terrible food recos by waiter (suggest giving diners a heads up when you recommend an appetizer that includes sardines and anchovies), and, not once asked how we were and if we needed anything, etc. This is fast food service with a big price tag. The food was just ok- octopus a bit dry, artichokes seemed canned, empanadillas tasty enough, the blue cheese/fig app was so imbalanced that my husband told me he just "choked it down" cuz he was starving. The capper for me was watching at least 4 wait staff scurrying around to get the restaurant prepared to close while we sat there with empty water/wine glasses completely dying of thirst from the excessive salting of the meal, waiting to be asked for our dessert selections. The place was packed - all i can think is that folks living at Yonge and St Clair REALLY want to walk to a restaurant, or really want decent wines and are willing to suffer thru terrible food and service.. Ended up apologizing to friends we invited there. Sorry, but i will not be returning.
Always a great choice. Really good food, and very excellent service all round.
We were there for Thanksgiving and enjoyed it immensely! The food was amazing - it was tapas-style and everything we tried was delicious. Our server was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations for food and wine. On top of that, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that wines are half-priced on Mondays!
